That is part of the strategy. You cannot layover jobs in their start city. So if there is a juicy VIP you want you will have to take it somewhere else to save it. We also didn't want people to just check all their cities and store jobs without a plane there. If there is a job you REALLY want you might have to boost a plane. This is closer to the answer. As for why is spilts in the Pacific and not the Atlantic. The map is loosely based off the real world map and most of them do it that we. I am sure there is some historical reason but I don't know it. We have talked about changes like this but the problem we are running into is to where to add the additional sort buttons. We already have 3 that change the filter on the list and adding sort buttons the apply separately to the filter could be very confusing to the user. We are still solutions to this but haven't we like. But I do know the pain of dealing with the jobs list of a fully upgraded class 3 with 50+ layovers.
Syncing is based on XP. It will always take the version with the greater but can take a couple seconds to happen. So if you are quickly switching devices and gain more xp on the game without the starship it may go away. Check the hanger on your other devices since there is a way to push that copy of the game and if you still don't see if send me the ID on the botton of your settings screen (post or PM it) and I can resend it.
This is such great customer service lol. Well so far everyone has been busy asking for things from you guys, but I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you guys for making such great games! I'm sure that all of us in this thread feel the same way. Nimblebit is awesome!
Most world maps split in the Pacific because that way they look ALOT better and are much easier to see where things are in the world. They make sense not only because of this but also because they have the GMT 0 country (the UK) in the middle so you can also see the timezones easily as everything to the left of the UK is behind it in time and everything to the right is infront. I am happy that you have used this map because the ones with America in the centre look poor as they cut Asia right down the middle, whereas the UK centred maps cut through the water between Alaska and the US and then down through the Pacific. Compare the American world map here to the UK world map here and you will see what I mean.
Xterminal's method is going to be less profitable than feeding the other way for pretty much one reason. When you feed the other way, you ensure every bitizen you deliver gets the 25% bonus, you don't fly without it. In Xterminal's method he's going to always be taking some bitizens for no bonus. If he's flying from Asia to N.A. he said piles on all of the N.Y., L.A. and Chicago bitizens and then flies to N.Y. When he lands, he collects from all of the N.Y. bitizens at no bonus. The L.A. and Chicago Bitizens that then get ferried off maintain their bonus but lose the direct-flight that a Cloudliner can make (at least to Chicago). I think that's like... 120coins? 150coins? Some ridiculously insignificant amount, but it adds up over time. The main loss is going to be on the zero-bonus guys that want to go to the hub. He's also going to have the problem of numbers and waiting, but he can fill with local bitizens to maintain the bonus on the stragglers I would imagine. If you loaded up and ignored the bitizens that want to go to the hub, it's going to be pretty much a wash on which method is more profitable. I think Xterminal's method is easier to manage, even ignoring the hub guys, since you have two cities that you're pulling layovers for instead of one, so you're less susceptible to the game not giving you enough jobbers to fill your feeder planes. That's just my thoughts without actually playing the method through.
I have 4 airports. Los Angeles New York London Moscow I veiw London as an "abused" airport because I never land there. Just pass through. I have 5 planes. 3 Fogbusters, and 2 Tertras. I will get rid of the Fogbusters soon. Any ideas what I should do in the mean time? Expand?
wow. And btw, can you guys consider letting us upgrade the class of airports? Like every 2 or 3 upgrades its class should go up by one (the population should always stay the same though). It makes perfect sense, if we are multi billion corporations we should be able to build a huge airport even in the most remote and forgotten location in the world. It wouldn't be profitable but if you have enough money you do what you want.
Yes I believe this method may not as profitable as the other way around. As I have said, I actually switched to this method for several reasons. 1. It's very easy to manage. I don't have too much time to play the game during the day so I want an easier strategy to follow. 2. I don't have to manage bux separately. By minimizing number of cities, and prioritizing the bux when picking up jobs, I don't have to worry about my bux grow rate. It just works 3. A very stupid reason, I just found out that it is way more enjoyable when seeing my short trip makes tons of money. And I actually tried to put more jobs to the terminal city to minimize the loss. My next goal is to add another pair of cloudliners by replace two of my aeros. It is too expensive to buy a new plane slot now... This is not my original idea but I like it a lot. And thanks NimbleTim, for this great game you have developed!
A few pages back, but I didn't see anyone answer him: "Forwarding time" is a cheat, and you got caught. Time to reset your game and play legit this time.
Yeah, this is how I'm doing it. I strictly pick up terminal city jobs. I have small(er) planes feeding each hub from their local terminal cities. The big planes then flip-flop bitizens from each hub and the local planes ferry them back out. As you say, it's probably a wash, but it makes me feel better to always have the big planes in the air. I can use my little feeder planes to wait around or skip from terminal city to terminal city if my loads are ever unbalanced. So I literally never make a delivery without a bonus.
Yeah I think that's probably the best way to play that strat. I don't really know which way would be "better" though, I don't have the time right now to even set up how to answer that question.
I will toss another thank you to Nimblebit and the great games they make. I loved Tiny Tower and am loving Pocket Planes just as much if not more. Not sure what the next game from Nimblebit will be but could I suggest Pocket Trains?
I posted this on another forum a while ago http://imgur.com/a/y9wKk#0. There are some other screenshots floating around but really the game was in VERY early development and once it was somewhat playable it just didn't feel right.
First post here. Firstly, I'd just like to thank you and the NimbleBit team for making a great game. Also, the historical reason you are looking for is that cartography proliferated during the Age of Exploration and the Renaissance as mainly an European endeavor. Before then, not enough knowledge of the world existed in one place for someone to compose a world map. It is thought that Eurocentric tendencies account for the fact that the first world maps have Europe depicted at the top-center. Here's an amusing blog and blog post about it: http://stuffwhitepeopledo.blogspot.ca/2008/11/imagine-world-as-literally-eurocentric.html
Ok, I have 10 Sequoia's now (5 C and 5 P). I have opened all the airports you have and I am just getting started. Already bust my most profitable flight record!
1. Ahhh. Thank's for letting me know! Code is G:191396658. Thank's for such good support, and as others are saying - Thankyou for such a great game!!! 2. Those improvements sound great!!! All of those things will certainly improve the playing experience. __________ I agree, the map as it is looks good. I think it's funny how the US made it's own map to make them the center of the world - what other country has done that?! lol
