If you get london that suggests to me your trying to set up a travel route in which case if your in class 2 aircraft still get tehran, bangkok and tokyo.
Achievement : The Longest Journey . Just snagged this out of boredom heh. Nome -> Whitehorse -> Edmonton -> Thunder bay -> Goose Bay -> Nuuk -> Reykjavik -> Bergen -> Belgarde -> Tehran -> Butwal -> Bangkok -> Palu -> Mount isa -> Hobart -> Wellington. note, achievement is granted at start of flight, not at completion. note, yes i could of streamlined my trip and saved a few airport openings but meh, they were class 1 and blah
What to next? hey guys, im relatively new to the forum so I had a couple of questions of how I should move forward with the game. Level 12 Airports: Chicago Detroit Toronto Cincinati Philadelphia New York Boston Rio De Janerio Planes: Birchcraft-M Anan-C Wallaby-P Airvan-M Airvan-P Airvan-C Mohawk-P Kangaroo-P Kangaroo-M Money: $45,269 Bucks: 10 I just closed a bunch of Class 1 Airports, and I was wondering how to expand more worldwide?
Its never to early to expand world wide. Start building pearjets/aeroeagles, both can reach new york to london full upgraded fuel tanks. Pretty soon you'll also be dropping c2 airports in favor of c3's.
I ~loved~ Sequoias. If Sequoias could make the New York ---> Istanbul trip I would've skipped Cyclones I'm sure. As it stands now I've cycled out (and given away most of) my Sequoias for Cyclones. So what you generally want to do is set your route up like this (this is my route so the in-between ports will probably be different) The <==> arrows are my big plane routes, going back and forth. L.A. (and Chicago) ---feed Beijing--> N.Y. <====> Istanbul <====> Beijing <--feed N.Y.-- Tokyo(and Seoul) What this does is ensure that your most-expensive-to-fly planes fly the shortest distance for the most gain. I use Aeros to feed. It costs an Aeroeagle 961 coins to go from L.A. to N.Y. It takes two trips to get the 12 passengers for a Cyclone. So that means we're spending 1922 coins to get those Bits (who are going to pay the same amount of coins no matter what they're flying on) to N.Y. for my Cyclone. A full Aero from N.Y. back to L.A. gets 1988 coins, so we're making a very very small profit moving those Bits in the first place. Even if you don't get a full load (which I usually don't) you at least cut that number way down. By comparison it costs a Cyclone 3971 coins to travel from L.A. to N.Y. So in essence by using feeders to get the Bits from L.A. to N.Y. we're saving 2049 coins (if we're using cyclones, if you're using sequoias the math is a bit different because the numbers don't match up exactly, but I think you might be losing money feeding Seqs this way.) That adds up. Real fast. The same goes for the other end.
If you don't feel ready for trans alantic romphs I'd definitely suggest expanding in to south america. Rio, Buenas, Lima, Mexico all great c3 airports. Plus there's an achievement air port in south america. Oh and dont forget the one up in alaska. And the one west of los angeles. When I noticed I only had c3 airports, I knew it was time to head towards europe. Prior to that though, there's quite abit on the american continent to keep us busy heh.
I upgrade all my cites that I put layovers in. If you're running out of layover spaces yes I think it's a good idea to upgrade. The lower speed is why they are so much cheaper to fly. It depends how often you check the game I guess.
I sure hope they fix the lost upgrades on hangering a plane soon. I'd love to have like a work set up and an active set up. Bring out the Cyclones when I have time to pay attention, bust out the Seqs while I'm at work. But it costs WAY to much to bring planes out of the Hangar to make that make sense, and with the lost upgrades it's even worse.
I'd get rid of the Supergophers and Mohawks. Wait until level 10 though, and replace them with Birchcrafts. Upgrade the weight and the distance on your Kangaroos, they are the best (cheapest to fly per passenger/cargo) class 1 plane and you will probably be keeping them for a while (I'm level 22 and still use mine) so it's worth investing in them. Also your airports are very squashed up together, you want them all in a line stretched out as far as possible - fares are based on straight line distance not distance travelled.
Would this route work with fogbusters and aeroeagles and pearjets feeding the cities? I just got to level 20 so I have a long way to sequoias :/ do you also mind get me a sequoias-m if you have spare parts so I can try this method? Thank you
Been playing ~way~ to much this past week and am in a pretty good spot, going to go ahead and post where I'm at and what my plans are, see if anyone wants to give me any ideas or pointers. Currently running 19 of 20 planes (one of my planes is being used for an interesting purpose that I'll post about later if it works, heh). I only have class three cities used, and all feeders and fed are upgraded to level 3. My primary route is: N.Y. <===> Istanbul <===> Beijing I'm flying 8 cyclones, full weight and full range upgraded on that route and it's about as close to straight as I can get. I could go to Seoul instead and be more-straight but then have to backfeed. Generally I wait for one new jobs pulse per cyclone to try to reduce the drain on my layovers, but only take naturals in even pairs so that I can maintain an evenly split layover pool without having to micromanage it. (So if I had 4 cargo and 1 person natural in N.Y. I would only take the one person and one cargo and then fill from layovers). For feeding purposes in North American I'm feeding N.Y. with Chicago and Los Angeles. I have 4 Aeroeagles feeding N.Y., usually have three of them heading to and from L.A. since it takes 18 mins one way. If I'm hurting for layovers I'll switch one of my L.A. feeders to Chicago for the shorter travel time (but less profits). For feeding purposes in Asia I'm feeding Beijing with Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. I have Shanghai mainly because that used to be my end-route port and also because I'm going to use it in about 8million coins. I have 3 Aeroeagles feeding in Asia since all the distances are fairly short. Other than those I have 1 Aeroeagle on each side doing ~only~ bux. I have one that I park in L.A. and check every now and then or every job refresh if I'm really paying attention to pick up the bux jobs that pop there and then when I'm full or close to full I ferry them to Chicago. In Asia I just kind of move them around between my three feeder cities and layover. I also have 2 Aeroeagles dedicated to moving those bux jobs that I'm gathering across the ocean, that way I don't lose the bux gathering while I'm transporting. For these purposes I have to keep London and Tehran open. Come to think of it I might be able to go Shanghai or Beijing to Istanbul with my Aeros, I'll check that out. It might be worth it to turn these guys into Seqouias. I usually don't need the bux to hurry to the destination and that would greatly reduce the drain I feel... I've never run out of layovers and generally have a full boat to bux move each time my bux movers land. My avg. daily is just shy of 1.3 million and I think I've made around 900 bux today? I don't recall where I started and I spent some sending gifts around earlier. My future plans involve opening a Rio de Janeiro to Shanghai route, using the South American class 3s to feed, and the same Asia feeders to feed. I already have the parts for 4 Cloudliner-Ps and 4 Cloudliner-Cs, but it's going to cost millions and millions of coins to unlock the plane slots. If I split the 8 into two groups of 4 that puts a 68 bitizen drain each landing, so that might get hairy. I might just build only 4 of them, split into two groups, with a cyclone or two on top, we'll see how things go. Just for the sake of speeding things up I might ground a couple of my cyclones (though I would lose around 300 bux on each one in lost upgrades). I'll also need to add a few feeders in South America and maybe one or two more in Asia to ensure steady layovers.
Where should I expand? I need advice on where to expand. I started in Australia, and currently have these airports: C3 - Jakarta C2 - Sydney, Melbourne, Rangoon C1 - Adelaide, Broome, Broken Hill, Alice Springs I want to close Adelaide, but haven't yet. I'll close the other C1 cities when I'm no longer flying planes that need those airports as connections between Sydney/Melbourne and Jakarta. I'm flying 8 planes: Birchcraft-P Birchcraft-C two Mohawk-P two Mohawk-C Kangaroo-C Kangaroo-M (and one Anan-M that I only deploy for flightcrew missions outside my network.) I just hit level 12. I have $120k+ in the bank, which is enough for two C3 cities, and a C2 city soon afterward. What cities should I purchase, and what's the best direction for me to expand?
This sounds exactly like what I'm going to do, once I finish up the 100 job achievements and take the time to move my South American base back up to North America. I'm thinking about adding in as a second route Chicago to Seoul (and have New York to Tokyo) with the knowledge that Cloudliners can make the Chicago to Istanbul jump. Have New York and Chicago feed each other (LA feed both) and have Seoul and Tokyo feed each other. Thinking about using Cyclones to carry bux jobs and eventually upgrade all planes for the actual route to Cloudliners. I must say I'm extremely intrigued as to what your 20th plane is doing. I've been dragging my feet on fully establishing a route like this because I'm enjoying trying to work towards the 1000 job events (still super curious if there actually is a reward for finishing one, particularly the Concorde ceremony one)
I'm also intrigued by Pezmages secret experiment! And I posted a long reply to his last post but it has to be approved by a moderator (I'm not ignoring you, I know you've gifted me a plane Pezmage! : ) So how close are you to completing 1,000 jobs mwadsit? I think I read on the Nimblebit getsatisfaction page that there is no prize or reward for completing 1,000 jobs... :S Let us know how you get on though....
Y'know, I didn't even think of back-feeding to run a double route from North America to Asia. I could probably do that right now, drop the bux runners. go Chicago to Shenghai and New York to Beijing. Use Seoul and Tokyo to feed both in Asia and have a few planes flying back and forth from Chicago to N.Y. Only worry I have is that I'm not going to get enough jobbers in North America just feeding back and forth with stragglers from L.A.... I might just dismantle my Aero transatlantic route and nerf my bux gain and see what happens. I'll probably do that tonight or tomorrow and let you know. And my odd plane isn't doing anything exciting, don't be too intrigued, you'll be disappointed!
hmm need some help guys.. just reached lvl 14 and bought london but found out that the coins i am earning are decreasing.. any ideas how to improve this situations? Cities: (C3): NY, LA, London, Mexico, Lima (C2): Detroit, Philade, phoenix (C1): kansas Planes: 2X Pearjet (1P,1C) 1X Airvan (C) 1X Seaknight 1X Equinox (M) 2X Mohawk (1M, 1P) 3X Birchcraft (2C,1P)
