I would agree the size and dominance of the toucharcade crew has to be concerning for nimblebit. If toucharcades dominance continues everyone will be joining and there will be one crew and since everyone that does 5 jobs in a crew gets the base reward that is a ton of bux being put out into the game. I am sure nimblebit would like more competition between crews and more of a variance in who wins. Not just one crew with a different member winning each event. I also imagine rare plane parts are not so rare when toucharcade wins. Look at the number of members. Nimblebit is likely looking at ways to balance things out.
I'd like to see more competition too to be honest. The first event was really fun because we started behind right at the start and it was fairly close for a while with us just pulling ahead a small amount each refresh. I busted my ass to get jobs for that event and had a blast doing it. I haven't had that much fun since that first event, I'd like to see that again. I don't see how they're going to do it short of limiting crew size or increasing the number of jobs one has to do to get the reward. Perhaps the base number of jobs you have to do has to do with the number of people in the crew? I don't know how/if that would even work, but it could discourage the thousands of 5 job people in the crew.

I cannot see them limiting crew size. That would possibly tick off too many people. I can see raising the 5 job limit for prizes or even doing a Winner, Top 10, Top 100. Anyone 101 and below gets nothing. That could artificially limit crew size as you would have a better chance of being in the top 100 in a smaller crew. But if toucharcade is still huge and thus keeps winning then moving to a smaller crew would get you zero. So making crews competitive is the key.
I think it might mix things up if they do a middle high prize, meaning if you come in first or second you don't get a prize but 3rd 4th and 5th do. It would be an interesting outcome?
Can somebody explain how/when the orange "Mystery" parts show up? I got on a couple days ago--I think it had to do with the 1-day Philly event--but I'm wondering if there's more of a pattern to it. And also, why I got one then, but not on any of the other events.
Got my first fogbuster! Feels great to reach class 3 planes ^^ I'm wondering though, how do people get 5000+ on one flight? I can only manage about 2500 with one flight + 25% bonus. If I don't get the bonus, I can't even profit! Would I have to organize layovers to get a more profitable flight? And if my current airports are New York, Lima, Lagos, London, Paris, Tehran, Karachi and Guangzhou, what would my best plan be?
xoxothea, My best is 4,818 (annoying!). I'm pretty sure that was from London to Honolulu using layovers from 10m airports between Istanbul and Guangzhou, and the 25% bonus. Your best bet would probably be to collect 8 jobs from New York to Guangzhou and fly there with the 25% bonus. If you can, expand to LA for more profit on this trip.
Did you use fogbuster upgraded, or a different plane? I was going to try layovers, but I thought that it'd be really expensive to collect all the layovers and only get ~4000 back? Expanding to LA sounds like a good investment though, I'll do that now
I did that using an Aeroeagle so it must be easy to do with a Fogbuster. I use Birchcraft-Ms to feed LA from San Francisco and to feed NY from Philadelphia and this way I get plenty of layovers to fill my planes.
I fly from Honolulu to Tokyo and my best run was 10,683. Usually I'll start an east-west run even if I'm not full and try to pick up the last couple of guys for the bonus along the way.
Agreed, using it now for Barrow. Mahajanga is at 85% done and all the rest are done, I did those with a 3 seater plane that took forever.
Wow, really? Oh well, I already bought two xD So should I upgrade my aeroeagles/fogbusters? Right now I can only reach tehran from guangzhou, so otherwise I'd have to make two flights to london?
