Is there a trick to the pearjet? I cannot get the thing for the life of me to make me any profit on a flight. I've fully upgraded for distance but nothing else.

    I'm on level 14

They're more efficient, but slow is slow.

    Personally, I prefer going:

    Birchcraft > Pearjet > Fogbuster

Higher capacity beyond 5 means less +25% bonuses without serious layover micromanagement. I rely heavily on layovers, but still don't like planes with more than 8 cap for that reason.

Fly long, straight routes and make sure to (almost) always get the 25% bonus, even if it means manually stopping at each leg to check for more jobs.

Also, utilize layovers, and put feeder cities at the ends of your global route, that feed to supercities with fully upgraded airports.

This is exactly the route I'm using. I feed things into Rio De Janeiro, take the top paying jobs from there (regardless of destination) and drop them in Mumbai, then carry on towards Seoul with whatever jobs I can take for the surrounding area (Shenyang, Tokyo etc) to make a small profit. In the other direction I take the top paying jobs back along the same route, drop them off in Kinshasa instead of Mumbai and carry on with whatever is left.

Once Mumbai and Kinshasa have enough layovers, instead of taking random jobs I fill them to the same destination. My most profitable flight is over 10k and you can easily make 30k plus for one round of flights. Once Mumbai and Kinshasa are full of layovers they basically stay that way due to it being the same route back and forth.

EDIT: this is with Pearjets and Aeroeagles in case anyone is wondering - they reach exactly to each point along the way. I have 4 of each (and 3 Hueys to feed the Rio end - there are probably much better choices for this but I love the look of them!)

Does this happen to anyone else - it takes two tries to open the app? First time it seems like it is loading then it crashes to the spring board, then the second time opens fine?

Very true - it depends how often you check the game. If you can check it more often, faster planes will be more profitable I think. But if you are finding that your planes are spending ages 'Landed' and waiting for you, consider replacing them with slower ones.

Sometimes yes (on iPhone 4). It seems to happen when the app has been in the taskbar (or whatever it's called), and some planes have landed. It doesn't seem to happen if I've killed the app from the taskbar and open it like new, and it doesn't seem to happen if no planes have landed.

Hmm that seems to be when it happens to me (after planes have landed). I never tried quitting it from the task bar. Will try that from now on - least I am not alone - thanks!

Ok I'm about to unlock Fogbuster's and I see debate between Sequoia and the Fogbuster, which one in terms of profit per hour makes more?

Sequoia, according to some calculations I saw on another forum.
But personally I plan to use Fogbusters whilst waiting for Sequoias if I get bored with my Aeroeagles.

Sequoias do make more per hour. Step up from fog to seq is much higher than that of seq to tetra. It gets a lot tougher to level up after lvl 20 tho. So getting to 22 without fog busters (and just using aeros) seems an impressive feat I probably wouldn't want to put myself through. Also it's good to start trying to incorporate class 3 planes into your route to prepare yourself for the current end game

Yay, finally reached level 26 and can buy Cyclones.
    But OMG they're 262 Bux a pop!!!!
I was impatient and bought several Aeroeagles @ 78 Bux each.
I think I'll take the time to collect separate Cyclone parts so I'll still have Bux left over to upgrade them.

Hahaha well my guess (Minsk) was one city away from Moscow so I was in the general neighborhood. I was thinking about eventually making it up to Moscow. Guess I'll have to move up my plans to expand in that direction. WOW, a class 3 city ... how will those who have just started playing get in on this? ... but I'm glad I don't have to sacrifice a plane slot for a class 1 plane ... swapping out my Kangaroo for something nicer!!!

Just noticed the reward is 25 Bux. I can't remember what the reward was for San Jose.
