(in an attempt to streamline,) I closed many of my airports in South America & Africa after upgrading to Pearjets and above; I only opened that route early on to allow my birches to cross the Atlantic from Lagos to Rio. I really don't want to re-buy those cities at the moment. Although I might try that route again after I've fully upgraded/optimized my current North America to Asia route (spanning Honolulu to Tokyo). We have to have goals to shoot for to keep things interesting. I'd also like to find the most profitable route to Moscow, when I'm bored, someday in the future.
Thanks!!! I never even noticed that button on the lower left of the screen. LOL It's gonna be a long time for me ... My best one has 126/1000 jobs. I'll focus on these more after I become more established (and have more coins to buy those airplane slots that seem to increase exponentially in cost)
Yeah it's kind of annoying. I have 3 of my planes grounded there and my 2 pearjets were both fully boarded and ready to fly to London just before the snowstorm hit.
Hey everyone! Is anyone interested in trading a part for the p40 warhawk? Let me know my gc is JPR IV
Has anyone noticed that the job list is slightly different for 2 planes at the same airport (within the same 4 minute job window)? It's more noticeable on my iPad which has only 3 airports. (I started a separate game for my daughter to play without messing up my iPhone game) I'll have 2 planes in Seattle. Open the job list for one plane and it only shows 1 job available. Open the job list for the other plane and it shows 4 jobs available. This is all within the same 4 minute job refresh window. I've noticed this many times. Sometimes one plane will get ZERO jobs, while the other plane (at the same airport) will see jobs.
This is probably due to one plane being cargo, and the other being passenger. Or cargo AND passenger. Or some other permutation. The default view in the jobs list only shows items that your currently selected plane can carry. There's a button in the lower left of the view to switch between "all", passenger and cargo jobs.
In the events menu I am shown 8 events, there is a tick mark in the bottom left corner, pressing this indicates 3/ 45 an 3 events listed below, what are these? (fight championship, sci fi convention, pirate party)
Ah... that makes perfect sense!!! I knew this from my main game on the iPhone, but somehow that knowledge didn't transfer over to my iPad. LOL Guess I was just frustrated with the really short job list on the iPad. I'm sure it'll get better, it's only level 8 on the iPad and level 25 on the iPhone. I'm reminded of how slow going it is in the early levels.
HLW pointed out that check mark button last night. I somehow completely tuned it out and did not see it at all. Mine lists 7/45 events. I guess there's some sort of achievement to complete 1000 jobs for each of the 45 events (some events will be unlocked in the future as we level up?). I keep hearing people post about completing 1000 jobs and not receiving any reward. Not sure if that means 1000 jobs of one event, or 1000 jobs for each of the 45 events. I guess it just gives us personal mini-goals to work on.
Does anyone have an opinion on the Pearjet vs the Aeroeagle. I'm not sure which I should use for my class 2 fleet.
I think we all benefit from the larger capacity planes in the long run. I'm in the process of converting all my Pearjets to Aeroeagles. I've gotten to the point where 5 seats isn't enough. And I like the even 3/3 split instead of the 3/2 split. (Only one PearJet left to replace ... then patiently waiting until Cyclone unlocks for me)
After pulling out a ruler then testing the most profitable route (longest straight line) seems to be Sao Paulo to Seoul, through Mumbai and Kinshasa. If you have class 2 feeding the line add Santiago to bring Seoul jobs to Sao. Tokyo, Harbin, and Buenos Aires can also feed. I don't know how feeding ranks in efficiency to advertising but Sao to Seoul I think ends up as longest straight distance that can be done by a plane lower than Cyclone. Trying now to see if that changes with bigger planes (thinking Mexico City to Lagos to Jakarta perhaps) Keeping Tetras well over 10k an hour, didn't see anyone with routes that maintained that besides this
Aeroeagle. IIRC, Kangaroo (1), Aeroeagle (2), and Sequoia (3) are the most efficient planes of each class (in terms of cost per person/cargo per distance unit). Slower planes are cheaper to fly.
Im doing flights from honolulo to tokyo,, but still dont get the transatlantic achievement ( got it before once ).. bug or what?
Yeah I've heard of others who have had problems with that one. Originally I didn't think that I was affected by the bug, because the achievement popped up in-game as soon as I made my first transatlantic flight. However, after checking my achievements in the GameCenter, I noticed that it said I never got that one =/ I'm pretty sure NimbleBit has been notified, but the numbers wouldn't hurt if we were to report it as well!
