Started in Japan.... I guess I'll see you in Calgary next year But when there's event in Asia I'll be be the major contributor!
(Got my game to work with an OS update I'd been putting off) Here's another tip: If you don't have enough jobs to fill a plane, or you have cargo with two different destinations, only fly to your next dropoff. Your cargo or passenger will still sit on the plane, and you can grab a new job that might combo. For instance: I'm in Osaka. I have jobs going to Nagasaki and Taipei. I load 'em up, but only fly as far as Nagasaki. Then in Nagasaki I fill the now empty spot with a job going to Taipei. Bam... Bonus!
I'm very frustrated. The game is now crashing frequently, and I cannot open the game via lock screen without the game crashing once first. Also, every time I open the game, I'm nervous I'll lose my data. I'm not sure what i'm going to do: Wait for an update or Cautiously keep playing. Anyone else having problems?
There's a 'menu' button in the bottom right corner, tap it, then find 'flight crew' and it will ask you to type in the name of the crew you want to be in. Type it TOUCHARCADE. It's one word.
Oh, and something else I'm doing. I've named all my planes so I can see at a quick glance what they can all do. AP11 is my first 1 passenger plane. APC211 is the first plane that carries 2 passengers and 1 cargo. A = akpak (GC nick) P = Passenger C = Cargo # = capacity # = number in fleet
NimbleBit is apparently working on a Pocket Planes update to release ASAP. I hope 'ASAP' is by the end of this weekend. That's as long as I'm willing to wait. If you guys need to email them, I believe their email is [email protected] Edit: Never mind, it's not active anymore. Either way, I guarantee NimbleBit knows about the crashing/data loss and they're hard at work fixing it.
1. Even though you pick the area to fly, as you expand (levels/fleet etc) can you fly international to other areas that we were given to pick from the map when starting? I picked one area of the globe but now feel like trying another area but I am wondering if the only way is to do a reset? If I can expand into these areas down the line then I'll just carry on. 2. Has anybody written a list of tips/advice to make the most out of it strategically? Thanks =)
I tried something, that didn't really work. I started in Japan, and have a nice little fleet going. (Level 6) I tried to open a pair of airports elsewhere (Alaska) to see if I could just do jobs back and forth between them. The answer is: Not really. My Japanese airports were getting jobs for the Alaska airports, with no path to them at all. So I'd have to get very lucky in the Alaska airports to have enough jobs that just went between those cities. Also: It's quite dumb that the flight paths from Japan to Alaska go *West all the way around the globe.* The map doesn't "wrap-around" like you think it would.
My eagerness to help out with the event in Calgary has caused me a big time. Despite having headquarters in Asia, I decided to open up a branch in Vancouver and Calgary, thinking I could just have an overseas business on its own while getting points for the event bonus. BIG MISTAKE, I don't get that many passengers or cargo between Vancouver-Calgary This game is pure awesomeness.
