Thanks mate! Im lvl 16, planning to expand and almost got 300.000 gold and 300 bux. I started in Europe, got the class 2/3 airports in the region and 3 Pearjets (upgraded for range) and 10 planes total, 3 clas 1-mohawks) that I can get full 25% bonus but not everytime, thats why I am asking about upgrading airports. What is your opinion in expanding? Upgrade airports and buy 1-2 more (Cl 3), or just buy cl3 airports further away only?
Hey all! First post and I have to say I as much as I loved Tiny Tower I am loving Pocket Planes 10x as much. I have only been playing for a few days but I am hooked. Nearing level 14, mainly in North America although I just expanded down into South America and over to Tokyo. Dumped all my class 1 airports and planes and now have all class 2-3 airports and class 2 planes. Still trying to tweak my routing. Finding this thread opened my eyes to layovers and opened a whole new world in Pocket Planes.
Yeah this thread has been brilliant. I've been on it nearly all day every day - as much as pocket planes! Very useful for tips, but also just to sway your way of thinking, and tweak your strategies! On a separate note - the only place I DON'T want the event is in Australia. If it's there i'll probably just do the 5 and close it down. Otherwise i'll probably do as many as this time!
Help to raise revenue Hey im pretty new to the game, lvl 7 and i have 11 airpotrs throughout central north america. Im operating on 8 planes, one kangaroo but mostly single passenger planes. My avg daily revenue is on 13,000 an i was wondering if i should continue to expand out or just get more planes and airpotrs close to home. I appreciate any input, thanks.
Events Hey, Ik being part of TA flight crew that if I do 5 jobs in the global event I'll get the #1 prize, but do u get a prize for doing any of the other events, n if so how do u get it? I've heard things about a "to do list" or "1000 jobs" but I'm not sure...
I'd recommend getting more planes, not airports. You might even consider closing some of your airports to tighten up your job listings. Try working towards at least 2 seaters and try to get the bonuses if possible. Once you start leveling up and getting bigger planes it'll be easier to spread your wings so to say. For the sake of comparison I'm level 22 and I only have 7 open airports and 12 airplanes, with an avg daily just over 400k.
Also try to keep your airports more in a line and less like a web. If you go from L.A. to New York you can use Phoenix, then St. Louis and then you might need to open Philidelphia, I can't remember the exact range on the smaller planes. That will set you at either 4 or 5 airports, with a clear plan for them. You could go L.A. to New York for the longer time/bigger profit run. Or you could take a shorter flight to one of the other cities along the way. If L.A. doesn't have enough New York passengers for the bonus and you don't want to wait, you can take one L.A. guy and one Phoenix guy, stop in Phoenix and see if you can complete your bonus there. If you do it in a web then you end up having a large number of flight paths with the same "value" just gumming up your job listing. Once you get to Pearjets you can then go from New York to London (with distance upgrades) further extending your line.
Actually, Smaller length flights make more profit - the only deciding factor is whether you can fill them all the time or iif you have to wait turn after turn for a full plane. I have a sequoia running LA --> Tokyo (with other planes) and that turns about 7.5-8k an hour according to the profit log. I have a sequoia running random full planes (sometimes short, sometimes longish), and that turns well over 9k profit an hour.
I always wondered that, that's good to know. I wonder if that's a product of the distance itself or the directness of the flight. If you're taking a small flight within the range of the plane you always get a straight line. If you're going from LA to Tokyo you aren't getting that perfect straight line.
True, but I don't think the deviation really counts towards over 1.5k difference. I assume the game has made it so that shorter, full flights give more profit so that it's a tiny incentive for people to play the game more regularly. Makes people think about whether they want to micro-manage or just go long-haul for less playing time. And in case people were wondering - the profit per hour is based on the plane in the air. It doesn't take into account the amount of time sat in the airport waiting for planes, or time you have spent away from the game - which I think is a good thing because it gives a good indicator; time played away from the game or sat in airports would sway the stats.
Time for my morning post to point to the FAQ in my sig... Also, very much hoping today's event refresh will be in Asia. Soon it will be time to open Mexico City and Honolulu, but not til I see what the event's gonna be like!
