YUP - just found this out the hard way. still skipping over the islands to get across the Atlantic after spending a bunch on a Birchcraft. Fully upgraded fuel tanks the Birchcraft cannot go coast to coast, and cant use class 1 airports in Canada and islands to get to Europe. Just bouncing my most expensive plane between DC, Boston, Detroit...
Any tips on where to go next? Here's my breakdown: I am at level 11 with: Birchcraft C Birchcraft M x5 Navigator C Airvan M Airvan P and airports at LA, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, New York. Where is a decent place to expand to? I'm looking for large class 2 or class 3 airports within range of a birchcraft. And can an upgraded birchcraft reach London from New York?
Unfortunately a Birchcraft cannot reach London - It should be able to reach Mexico City though? That could be a good next move for you if that is indeed true. That brings into play a possible expansion to south america, as well as another couple of class 2 airports dotted around to make some good trips.
Help Hi guys I'm after a bit of advice I'm running la to toyko thru NYC,London,Cairo,Delhi, and gangzhoun am I better off selling up and going thru Tehran as I have seen posted here before Level 18 so still using pears and aeros and also haven't got feeder hubs at either end Ps have Mexico and santi for the event only 400 jobs and counting
I would say if you can reach Tehran then do it - cutting out a pit stop, which also means your jobs will be more focused.
What, London to Tehran? Definitely. I did that myself. The journey from london to Tehran is less than New York to London.
Is there a list of which planes become available when you reach a particular level? The pocket planes wiki doesn't have it all in one nice list. So if someone has a nice easy list showing everything on one page - that would be great thanks.
This is a distance calculator for different planes and different cities, but you'll notice in the list it has level. http://therustysnowman.com/proj/pocketplanes.php
Go south into south America. Get Mexico city, them Lima, then rio, them fly across Atlantic to Lagos. Don't upgrade birch craft, you get better planes at level 12 and 14.
Ok so not looking for advice as such, just your opinions. After the event is up, i don't know whether to close the south america route altogether (Lima / Buenos Aires) and just move it to wherever the new event is, or keep it going AS WELL as the new event? If you don't know already, my other route is LA --> Tokyo. I'm worried that my main route will be drowned out with jobs to the south americas, but on the other side i've upgraded all the airports and it might be a nice little earner on top...
Ah, so thats what layovers are for xD I think layovers take some timeto plan, but it does sound like a good strategy
It's not so much the planning, it's the fact you've got to be playing quite a lot to make sure your main planes are filled up! Definitely worth it though.
I do have all M planes, because I couldnt figure out why itd be better to have P or C. now that I think of it, there are sometimes more of certain jobs. But how would you know when to send P or C planes to a certain city? isnt it just by luck?
