I don't think there is a right answer to this question, it depends on your playing style. I have a mix of all three ... P, C, and M. The M's frustrate me when I start clicking, then stuff gets greyed out when I've filled one type, but don't have enough to fill the other type. So the P and C types can be easier to fill, you can eyeball the list and know whether you have enough for a full load before you start clicking. That said, I find myself leaning toward building more M planes as I progress in this game and replace old plans with newer ones. Have you guys noticed that you sometimes have an even mix of P & C types at one time, and then later on, your job list gets P heavy or C heavy? This is where M planes end up sitting multiple refresh cycles before they can be completely filled. I think this is most noticeable when watching one specific destination, for example, the current Global Event (because those are highlighted in blue). I've noticed that sometimes they're P heavy and I can't find enough Cs to round out my M planes. Then other times, they're C heavy and I can't find enough Ps to round out my M planes.
I'm starting to feel that 60 layover spots aren't enough (and 60 is the current max allowed with a fully upgraded airport) ... I might end up using a big plane as "extended" layover spots so I can swap out people and move them around when my airport layovers are full.
LoL using big plane for layover spots Maybe in the future updates Nimblebits can either increase the layover limits or add in another game mode - building warehouse into this game
Would you like to share your experience in using Layover? I don't actually use Layover, I just wait one or two refresh to get full-loading. One of my concern is that when you use layover, it means that you sacrifice one of your bonus trip to acheive another bonus, didn't it? So why I don't wait and refresh for another full-loading flight for bonus? Maybe my best plane currently is pearljet and my base is still in Asia so i don't need to use layover? I guess maybe with my level up and expand of my fight area, layover may be more useful.
My base is also in Asia but now I've got a solid base in Western Europe too. (I'm lvl17) Paris is my main hub in Europe with Casablanca, Rome, and Munich feeding to it. I have about 2 class 1 flights to run the feeding trips and the rest of my class 2 or big flights fly across eurasia. Seoul and Tokyo are my main hubs in Asia with Taipei, Hong Kong, Cebu, Sapporo, and Singapore feeding. Though I've been considering to close down Cebu and Sapporo to start using class 2 cities to feed class 3 hubs. I almost always get the full-loading bonus because layovers are just great! If you can't get a bonus yet, just leave them there waiting for transfer while you pick up some other passengers/cargo to do another delivery. It's not like they'll file complaints
I think it is more important to make sure you have a FULL flight of passengers/cargo going to the SAME DESTINATION for the final leg of the journey. This will give you your 25% bonus. Think of layovers as a place to consolidate people who want to go to the same place. Once you have collected enough of them, fill up your plane and collect your 25% bonus. Let's say you have a Pearjet that takes 5 Passengers. Let's say you have 2 people in Madrid who want to go to Tokyo and 3 people in Berlin who want to go to Tokyo. Have a plane pick up the 2 Madrid people and drop them off in Paris (your layover airport). To drop them off, just click on the red "UNLOAD" button next to your passenger's name. Now you have 2 layovers in Paris. They are going to hang around at that airport until another plan picks them up to take them to their final destination. Have a plane pick up the 3 Berlin people and drop them off in Paris. Now you have a total of 5 layovers hanging around in Paris, waiting for a plane to pick them up and take them to Tokyo. Now take your Pearjet to Paris and fill it with those 5 people who want to go to Tokyo ... voila you get the 25% bonus for filling your plane with people going to the same destination.
Thanks for sharing! Seems layover is designed for someone operates a flight company with several base. Then you can make good use for the layover system to transfer your passenger through different continent.
Need some advice on what to do, I am on level 9 and have twelve airports: Santiago, La Paz, Cordoba, Barcelona, Rome, Naples, Tripoli, Brussles, Timbuktoo, Monrovia, Cuiaba and Araguiana. I am currently looking to expand from Europe (where I started off) into the Americas through Northern Africa because of the opportunities to buy a lot of airports. I have 6 planes, and my best one is a Mohawk. I think that the Mohawk is the only plane that can get from Africa to South America but I have one more airport to buy on the South American coast. Would you recommend continuing what I am doing, or try something else? p.s I don't have much money, 4896 coins and 4 bux.
New to this forum and I have a question. Why am I unable to load my layovers? The "LOAD" button is shaded even though I'm using an appropriate plane. Any suggestion? Thanks
That is either a) your plane is already full, or b) the layover is for an airport that no longer exists. If the second is the case, just press the little red 'x' to delete the layover slot
Layovers are more useful later on in the game when you have long flights using big planes. I have LA and Tokyo as my 'hub' cities. I have 2 planes taking Tokyo layovers to LA (and any good bux jobs for other planes to dot around delivering), and I have Beijing and Shanghai delivering LA layovers to Tokyo. Everytime my long flights land in LA or Tokyo, they have an easy, full plane.
speaking of hubs, I'm now regretting a bit of stepping onto EST America by opening up Boston/Montreal. Because I simply don't own enough planes to run all regions (Asia, Europe, NA) atm... thinking about closing down NA and choose either Africa or Australia instead.
hi.... some days ago i joined toucharcade i got 2 questions...1. there are crew events but do all in the best crew win buxs or is it only the best 10 who gets buxs?' 2. there are events for each person, what do u get by doing that kind of event? right now in panama city its a music festival and i bought that city and i have travelled speakers and people to the music festival but do i get buxs or something? /Axel
If you start in NA... Then you have N and S america to feed and stock up voston/new york/washington/philly with jobs run larger planes back and fort across atlantic. Its a good region, may must take yo some to fleshitmout coming from that direction
If you want to take it to the next level, you can use LA as your hub - use Seattle and Honolulu to fill it with jobs, and run flights from LA --> New York --> Europe / Asia
1. If you do 5 jobs or more, and are in the winning crew, you will receive the top prize 2. These events don't give you anything - they just mean there will be more jobs to that location, so they are easier to fill planes. Not worth setting up a route every time, but if you happen to have one of them, useful to utilise
i'm level 18 and i dont know if i build pearjets, aeroeagles or wait for class 3 planes. i already have pearjets and birchcrafts doint Seattle > LA > Lima > Rio
