If you click build and it has the three parts it should bring you to the map. Choose an airport that you own that doesn't have a plane at it. The new plane should then appear there. So you need not only the parts but a place to have it take off from. That is when the three bux will get charged - when you assign it to an airport.
I'll join the TOUCHARCADE flight crew, but I'm just a lowly level 3 right now, based out of The Northeast US/Canada region. Hopefully I can contribute something to the crew.
I haven't got the game yet (I plan to soon), but I was wondering: -Does it lag on iPod Touch 4G? -Will I know how to play and what to do upon opening the app (Tutorial?) -Is it worth it? (Why am I asking, it's Nimblebit for God's sake.) Thanks! P.S.- I do plan to join the TOUCHARCADE global group and see what I can contribute with. Even though I'll join it upon starting the game, I'll try to help and I'll probably be playing all night to get higher levels/planes/airports for the group
I've focused on development on planes before expanding on cities. So I paid for 2 or 3 slots with coins, and now have 7 planes. I then focused on expanding on cities, and picked far-ish (but not too far incase your planes can't reach those destinations).. so airports with very little population (Cordoba/ Manchester). I also spent quite a few bux on increasing the engine speed of my fleet (only those with the capacity of 2 or over though). I think the next step will be replacing my one capacity units with better planes... Hope this helps.
It does not lag when you actually get going in the game, but I notice that it lags when I re-enter the game after having left it (and received push notifications that my flights have landed). I think it takes a while to get into GC. The lag is around 5 to 10 seconds depending on how many things you have pending (i.e. I usually wait till all 7 of my planes have landed before getting back into the game). Dragging around in the main map may sometimes lag, especially if you have quite a few things on the screen, but overall it's acceptable. I think there's a lot of great TA members here who can help with any queries, though I must admit, I re-started a couple of times not having fully understood the mechanics of the game.. Definitely worth it though, in this game it's much easier to get bux, so.. I've not had to pay for anything (even though I plan on contributing 3.99 to the developers). Try it out! Hope this helps.
You have to make sure that you have all 3 parts with the same letter at the end... i.e. <name of plane>-P Speaking of which.. what's the difference between the letters? On the stats side of things they seem to be the same... any ideas?
It sounds like lag I experience on a lot of games when I wait for GC to get going, nothing bad. It does seem like I'll have an idea of what to do based on this thread and just exploring the game, I guess I can always come and ask you guys (based on the lightning fast replies here on this thread ) I've heard it's much easier to get bux and that IAPs aren't required at all! I'm going to try it out, it sounds unique and fun! (Plus, it's Nimblebit ) Thanks again!
i still don't know how people are making bux and money so fast... i'm level 5 and still only 4 planes >< Thing is bux does not come easy in this game as compared to tiny tower.
IAP, a game this popular people swimming in money will allways splash out and hit the leader boards... That's my main gripe with this good game though, paying your way up the leader boards.
At least it feels like the Toucharcade crew isn't swimming in whales. I downloaded last night, played for an hour or so before bed and have been playing a few hours since waking up and I'm #9 in the crew. Haven't spent a cent.
In my opinion.. I think it's actually easier.. there are passengers who sometimes pay in bux... if you're patient enough you can actually sometimes see bux passing by (i've collected at least 3 that way). I've been trying to pack into the combos (having 2 or more items in the same destination). I've upgraded the engines so they travel faster. I've organised my routes so that my 2 or 3 capacity flights do the longer flights, and the 1 capacity are used for layovers. (i.e. if i have 3 who need to get to munich, I group them up in Manchester with my 1 capacity flighters, then send use my 3 capacity planes to travel them in one go). I guess I'm saving money by just buying the parts and then building it myself? I hope that helps.. I don't really know what else I'm doing that's helping.
Yeah I'm trying not to spend any money on this, grinding it the traditional way. Think it'd make it even more fun when i finally expand my business. I spent some in tiny tower and soon lost my interest because it came too easy. One wish to this game: I hope i can turn off the vibration.
Considering the $5 IAP for 200 bux. Thoughts on best usage? Maybe 100 to coins for expansion, 25 to my fleet for upgrades, and 25 to new parts/planes.
Newb here. Just gotta ask, where in earth is kuala lumpur airport in this game. It's one of the better airports in the world and that's what I'd be hoping to purchase first if I could
Anyone knows how to disable the constant vibration of my iPhone when the plane lands? I disabled all notifications but it still vibrates, really annoys me.. I'm on iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.
Sometime over the night pocket planes decided to delete its self off of my ipod so i had to reinstall.back at square one.thank god i wasn't that far so it wasn't a big loss. What i don't understand though is that it still shows my rankings in the toucharcade flight crew, you'd think that since it reset and i lost all my data that i'd have to start over there as well.
Can someone please explain why I get such a high profit loss when transporting a person or cargo that pays in bux instead of coins? If I have three people heading to Ottawa, 2 pay coin and one pays bux; if both pay coin I get good profit, but if I swap one out for a bux payer, I lose a lot.
