May I ask why? I have Doug Dug and this one, and I find this one much more interesting. There's a game progress: upgrade cards, complete collections, get better gear, etc. Doug Dug is a great game, but for me it lacks that character improvement between gameplays that Pocket Mine 2 has. As for IAP's, you can get all except the energy increaser just by playing. Pocket Mine 1 was frustrating regarding IAPs because it was nearly impossible to get gems just by playing, but in this one you have the daily mine, challenges such as the Olympus level, etc. I play on short bursts daily and haven't grown tired of it. I'm not very interested in gears, but I do try to complete my collections, improve the cards to try and get deeper, etc. I don't see why IAP should get in the way in this one unless you want to have 100% characters, upgrades, etc. very fast.
When I would run out of turns, the game wanted me to use my gems to take more turns. At first I didn't do that, but then I went ahead and started using them so I could complete the level. Then when I ran out of gems the game asked me if I wanted to buy more. That's where I get sick of the IAP. Let me pay five bucks for the game and play it. I know I'm not in the majority as a lot of people love freemium games. A good friend of mine is addicted to Candy Crush and she has spent probably close to $100 on consumable items. I asked her one day if she would rather pay $10 for that game and everything it had to offer rather than have had spent $100. Of course she said yes. I guess I'm just not in the IAP target market.
You can easily finish this game with no IAP..there is so much u can do to get gems as well as retore ur energy by watching short movie clip. Dunno why u complaining this game is very generous compared to otherd. ive probably already made over 600gems without trying really..i love the way roofdog conducts its business
What I do when I run out of energy is go to another game and wait for the timer to recharge, instead of recharging with gems. The first days, when the game hype is at it's most, my energy replenished automatically by levelling up when I was running out of energy. This worked well until level 40 approx., but by that time I didn't mind swapping to another game when the energy meter ran out.
Still loving every minute of this game. It's pretty much been my "go-to" game since I downloaded it. There is a lot more content than the first. I haven't even got through all the stages yet. I like how after you beat a stage, it pretty much turns into endless mode. That was the fun part of the first game. Trying to dig deeper and beat the scores of your friends, so after you beat all the levels in this game, it's still a lot of fun. I can't recommend this enough.
Enjoying this game. To me it's sort of the pinnacle of a pick-up-and-play game. My friend code is: tqmz3947
it's either you are playing it wrongly. Or Wrong gear/character/card set up. Honestly you can complete most stages without using diamond. I dont remember myself spending any diamond on any of the stage I played till now (up till Castle) I am not the kind who likes freemium games either because most of them have greedy IAP set up which makes the game frustrating more than enjoyable. So yes I have the same mentality like you that would prefer to pay a set amount and have full enjoyment. But I dare say that Pocket Mine 2 has been really okay. Their system is still an acceptable one within the freemium bunch. Althou back in soft launch it was better. Now after the tweak some thing got worsen a little. Like example your reward require your factory to craft instead of instantly getting them like it used to. But still it is not too game breaking to the point that makes this game unacceptable. And this game have been quite generous in the way you get stuffs too. My advise go to the friend request thread, add a bunch of friends. There you get quite a bunch of rewards from gems to money to keys to gears to cards. That way you can upgrade your pick quite a bit and maybe have better loadouts. Dont spend your diamonds any how. save them up for proper characters that actually help you better later in the game. There are more to talk about but I not going to say more. All I say to end this is you mind want to watch how others play (there are videos people upload) take the small advice I gave earlier adding friends then give it another go. This is surely one of those freemium game that still worth digging into. At least much better than DH5 imo
I'm still stuck on the 4th level of Olympus. I'm getting so close too! The last run, I missed it by 1 foot!!!!!!!
That happened to me a couple of times. I feel like i'm gonna have to buy the Viking since he gets 20% extra durability, and stack that with my pick durability card.
Quick shout out to the Add Me thread. I threw my code in there about two days ago and never went back to add anybody myself. All 50 slots filled up on their own and I'm rolling in prizes from it. Highly, highly recommend it if you like this game. It feels like all I had to do was paste my code in that forum and the game premium-unlock'd itself. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=255049
^ Well good thing about this game is that adding goes both ways. Basically you add anyone up to 50 and get rewards immediately. Therefore, people will put in the effort to punch in those codes instead of the usual "referral" codes that other games do
