Good point. I also note those that have had more success getting games seem to be using smaller party sizes. Alas, I've got 10 games all waiting for the 1st move unfortunately. Pity I realised too late you don't need to have 4!
No random? C'mon! This needs to be fixed ASAP! ... I cant play as I don't have friends there... Anyway, this is my mail: [email protected] I won't be able to play right now as I'm @ work x_x
Universal update is supposed to come later. I'm about to head off to bed but feel free to add me: Bigperm9. Hopefully I'll have a chance to play tomorrow.
Definitely looking forward to the universal update. Any idea how many games you can run at a time? I'm worried this is going to be like Outwitters for a while, where the initial influx of people (starting games and never taking their turns) lowers the experience.
So the setting to disable music seems to do nothing. The game attempted to access my contacts. And it's apparently useless to me because I know no other person owning it. Screw them.
The game is bugged for me... doesn't register taps ony character, I can't move. What now? Already re-installed it.
Without the ability to search for random players in GC, this title will curl up in a corner and die. I'm trying to understand why on earth the developers didn't implement this - I guess they MUST have their reasons but nothing comes to mind for me that makes any sense at all! Anyway, as such this is a totally pointless and dead title for me. I bought it before I realised this was a constraint and it's now deleted. At least by buying it I have the ability to write a 1-star review and warn others about this game. NOT happy. Jamie.
DISCALIMER: I do not want to be THAT GUY, but please, use the right thread or make one for the ADD ME thing....this is the official thread, it's almost impossible to find opinions about the game or quests. This night the thread bumped up 20 pages and the 99% are just add me posts. Onto the game, brief impressions. I waited till 1 am to download the game and start playing with a friend of mine...so we played less than a hour or so before passing out but these are my personal impressions. So far, despite many reservations I had, I'm impressed. I see HUGE potential here and despite some quirks I confess I had great fun trying to get into that damn tavern. I have a big headache now too. There were some moments I got the very same vibe from my old D&D sessions, and I have yet to see the game in pratice. Honestly it's more than I expected. I followed closely the game since it was announced, so I was pretty prepared to almost everything (except the already mentioned 'choose the group' to play thing). When I first loaded the game, graphics, menus, music and such was BETTER than I was expecting....I actually really like it (and menus are actually retina...it doesn't look like shit on the new iPad too). Created a Paladin, invited a friend...in less than 1 minute we were taking turns. And, contrary to many other async games I tried (outwitters the last one), notifications worked right out the bat. In less than five minutes I got the interface, equipped a ring and a necklace, fought some monsters, chatted with my pal, and while it was all simple, I honestly got immersed in the forest trying to reach the tavern. That is the scope of the game, and a big achievement in my book. I see many complayning for the lack of 'random games'. While I understand the frustration of not being able to play after having downloaded the game, it has to be realized it's not Hero Academy or Outwitters, nor Ascension or even StarBase Orion. It's more like a full fledged RPG...long, involving....do you want to play it with a random unkonwn people? I suggest the dev to include a chat lobby or something, so people could coohordinate classes and 'needings'...once you have choosen your pals, you will stick with them till the end of the campaign....it's no 5 minutes affair. Now onto the complaining First and foremost: a decline invite and a cancel campaign buttons are REQUIRED. I have sooo meny invites I cannot even scroll those properly. Sorry to the people I'm not taking turns with...I have already 3 games ongoing. I dunno if it's a sort of planned 'undo'...but before ending turn you can go back to the beginning of the turn and redo everything...loot changes. I discovered this when a network error occured. I play with friends, it's co op, not competitive, so I do not really see as an exploit...but maybe should be addressed. I look forward to play more with my friends...I'm sure this game will be on my iPhone for a loooong time. Thanks!
I must echo Pitta's sentiments here, he is right on the money. This is not a game for playing randomly. I like the art of the game, it has a cool retro vibe. the option to delete/refuse is essential and really needs to be implemented fast! I wish the dev all the luck on the appstore and cant wait to see how this title evolves. disclaimer: I am the one playing with Pitta, so mabe thats why we are enjoying it more, cos we already know each other.
I'm shocked this game doesn't have random player selections like words with friends. What a huge oversight. I have no friends on gamecenter who have the game. It should at least allow you to play solo or something. I just wasted a buck. So disappointed.
... You can add one of the hundreds of GC names here in the thread... Woohoo... No more 'waste of a dollar'
Ok I have a weird bug. I can't access one game, it keeps crashing and crashing when I try to play it. I can see the map and everything for a couple of seconds and then the game crashes. In that specific game I play with one friend and we are on our way to that cave on the third map with all the goblins Every other game works fine. I restarded my iPad and even re-installed the game. Nothing changed. I'm playing on an iPad 2 16GB WiFi iOS 5.1.1
Well, you can read this very thread and add much more people you will ever have the time to play with. This game is cloning the D&D experience...I would never ever play with some random people (and stuck with him till end of campaign) D&D. I guess the game has been misinterpreted by many. I would suggest, if a chat lobby to find players is too hard to implement seeing how many have difficulties to find people to play with...to put a link to a forum thread inside the game...so people can cohordinate classes, timelines, turns and such. The whole random fast game, here, won't work, EVER imho. Btw...for the oldies here...it's the VERY SAME PROBLEM I faced countless times when actually playing the real D&D games back in the days. So I guess this is an achievement too (not really solvable, if you want to play a real campaign). Just my 2 cents.
Just moved 81 add-me requests to the add-me thread! Pocket Heroes - Add me requests: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=143404
I don't think the devs really put too much thought behind how this thing would work. Cool idea bro, I liked it but clearly you haven't thought beyond the cool idea. To launch the game and not have a plan on what happens if someone wants to drop out. Or what if you want to play a particular character with a different group of people (maybe because they don't want to play anymore). Or hey what if I get an invite but I don't want to join that game. Too many design choices that needed to be sorted before the game was too far into delvelopment, have just been ignored because all they were programming was a good idea. Good idea : terrible implementation.
