Hahaha, that should be a one time thing but if you see it again definitely let me know. I've seen that happen once in testing but couldn't ever get it to happen again.
When i use horn with my mechie my hp goes down. Why is that? The description says it costs 5ap/4mp. But if you look at the skill on the player card it says 5ap, 4 energy
Ok, so now when it is my turn, I hit the "play" button and I am taken immediately to my turn. I no longer get to see what happened on my teammate's turns and what the monsters did. How do I know if my teammates are suffering from adverse effects? I feel like this loses a little of the immersion. Is this how it is supposed to be? EDIT: This isn't happening in all my games. Maybe it is because some people have updated and others haven't?
Loving this game ever since it released. Fun concept with the asynchronous multiplayer, keeps me excited for my next turn, when my bro and I have time. It's perfect for our busy lives. Make sure u try to play with dedicated peep(s). Though hopefully by now they've been weeded out some, so the random player finder has a good success rate. The new update was just what we needed!!! Thanks so much for concentrating on the bugs and big issues! Next update(s) wish list, in no particular order. 1. Better animations on skills, and also so everyone else in my game sees them too. Example: Rogue's taggled vines skill, if the targeted enemy had vines showing on them, then my group member(s) wouldn't need to tank him and know to stay away. Allows for easier, fun teamwork. 2. Delete button for old games. You explained this above, Thk you!!! 3. Equipment appearance?! Maybe keep it simple, like more skins for weapons, helmets, maybe shields. I dig that sh*t, esp in a retro feeling game like PH. 4. More quests and classes. 5. More skills, or upgradable skills. So u can spend more than 1 pt on each. Upgrades!! So now tangled vines affects more targets or has better range, stuff like that. Sorry for the novel, thanks for reading it fellow fans and Brandon. Keep up the awesome support, it's very refreshing to see a dev interested in getting their game pwntastic.
This is probably a by product of some of the checks I'm doing to protect against the 'party has perished' bug. If there is any chance that the turn data wasn't fully downloaded then I don't save it, this means you won't see the replays for that turn but you'll avoid the nasty bugs. You should get replays the majority of the time, if you notice that you never get a replay let me know sonI can check the game. Thanks!
Hey Brandon, first want to say thanks for the update! Love the new features, though came across a couple of bugs: -game crashes when adding a random player (probably is the same bug on 2nd gens where the game crashes when trying to invite someone from the GC/email list) -the chat always says "new" even when there's no new chat. I also noticed that before the update, there was sometimes the *chat even if there was no new chat.
So now instead of being stuck in a game waiting for a person I friended from this forum to take their turn, I'm stuck in a game waiting for a random player to take their turn. So no real difference there. Or am I doing something wrong? What exactly are the steps for getting a random player to join, or for randomly joining someone else's game?
Yay, bought this game at launch, but since it didnt have random play ( i dont have many GC friends ) i didnt play it, but now im all over this. One question though, and it might be obvious. When i invite random people to a game, can i hit start, and then wait for them to eventually join? Or do i actually sit at the char invite screen till the game is filled before i hit start?
i started a game filling three spots with random players. hit start and made my turn. now it says "waiting on Random Character" so i guess now i wait... curious as to how these slots are filled as i did not see an option to "join a random party"
Whenever I try to start a new game, and fill it with random people, I ALWAYS get the following error: It still lets me take my first turn, but I'm yet to see any progress on any game that starts like this. Edit: from the game select screen, if I touch "Waiting" to view the current progress, the games that started with the above error show only a completely black screen, resulting in me having to restart the app. Games that started with personal invites to friends work as normal.
Bugs Couple of quick bugs that I've found. 1. I'm playing a sorceress, and just noticed that sometimes the other player's (in a two player game) health isn't resyncing. I've been dropping heals on him, and finally noticed that on the next turn his health count reverted back to what it was pre-heal (and we hadn't been in combat). I then re-sync'd and his health was where it should be (full). 2. It seems that if I equip an item that increases max health when I'm at full health and then unequip it, I'm no longer at full health. I need to test this a couple more times to verify, but I ran into this a couple days ago and haven't thought to explore further until now. So if I have 30HP max, and equip a +2 HP item, I am then at 30/32 HP. Then if I unequip that item it seems to take me to 28/30HP. Also curious if any brainstorming is happening that will remove the exploit that allows you to continuously re-sync to generate better drops, restock shops, or even to prevent death altogether.
there's a new option in the settings for Random Games. Assuming with this on, you'll automatically be chosen at random for people's random games.
crashes on random player Hey all, bought this game for my iphone 3g and havent played it once. trying to email GC contacts doesnt work (phone hangs) so I've been waiting for the random player button. Excitedly updated game today to find the button but everytime I push it the game dies. Please fix this soon as I have never got past the character creation screen. M
I have the exact same problem. I bought it today, and I can't get past the character creation screen without it crashing. Playing the game would be awesome, but it seems to be horrifically unstable right now. iPod Touch 4th Gen 32GB (iOS 4.3.5)
Hey everyone! I need to get caught up on the thread again so if you've left a message for me I'll try to get back to you today. I wanted to respond to the article Jared wrote on the front page. I looked into the issue and there are two things going on: 1. The error message is a none issue, it was a false positive and you shouldn't see it anymore when you create a game. It also didn't effect any of the random games that you started to this point. 2. The problem with people not moving isn't a technical one, it's just that those people aren't moving. I just went in to the database and removed any player who had less than 3 characters from the random pool. This reduced the number of people open for random invites from over 7000 to about 2500. That will hopefully limit the number of players in the random pool to those of us that are actively playing. If YOU have less than three characters, but want to be invited to random games, then open the app, hit settings, and make sure random games is set to on. I may put in a system that removes a player from the random pool if they haven't logged in for more than a week, or some other arbitrary time, but I think the ultimate solution to this will be the ability for you to manage your characters individually and take them from one party to the next. I hate to keep coming on here and talking about how the next update is going to make everything better, but honestly it's the truth. I think Pocket Heroes needs to evolve into a more dynamic, character focused, game for it to really be the best game possible and the only way for that to happen was to put it in your hands and then respond to your feedback. As always, if you're having trouble let me know. You shouldn't see that server error message anymore ( unless there really was a network error in which case it will have prevented the party reset bug ) but if you do please let me know. Thanks
