May I suggest the Family Crest thing again? I know this would change the way the game is made now, but in the end it should pay off. Basically you now create a char that is stuck with the campaign. This has several advantages, the first one is that you can control the balance. It would be cool and solve many other problems, if we could create a char (or several) OUTSIDE campaigns (notice the plural here, I'm looking forward to play this game for the next years ), form a group and THEN hop in a campaign (or single quests). Obviously there should be contranints (levels, you can't hop in a quest if you didn't manage to complete the previous ones, and the like, group must be same level).... This would solve the delete thing, let people experiment with different classes, have a shared repository for gold and objects, and so on. EDIT: As already pointed out, this would make people more 'willing' to pay for gold, seeing that this is shared among all their chars. What do you think?
Rogue Bow Damage Anyone know what effects rogue's bow damage? The Rogue's main stat is Agility which would make sense to increase but i can't notice any different in damage when i wear +agility equipment. Wondering if i should keep my rare +1 agility ring or continue to pump my strength equipment which are a dime a dozen in order to increase my damage output. Thanks for any advice.
Hello fellow PH fans, First, Brandon, the developer, thx for listening to our suggestions and super fun game by the way. I look forward to more additions/updates. Second, I have a few suggestions. I've only played with the paladin so they are more directed to this class (could apply to others too). Could we get better skill wording and a little more in depth too. For instance I believe my seal of protection lasts 1 turn after I cast it, but I'm really not sure. I would be for a much harsher death penalty. Loss of gold to revive, plus loss of exp too. I like to zoom out the camera but when I refresh it goes back to zoomed in. I'm not sure if that could be changed but it would be nice if it kept my camera setting. Also, more animations, maybe even basic character changes with equipment. Like seeing an axe, or sword with whatever one I have equipped, even a helmet if I am using one. Not sure how much of this u can do, just throwing it out there. Thanks again for a very fun game.
Agility has the most impact on ranged abilities. That +1 agility ring is the way to go. ( Unless you can find a ring of the Lion
Thanks for the suggestions! In the current build pretty much all the status effects last 2 turns but I've decided that's not enough of a bonus. So in the 1.0.2 update they all last an additional turn which should make them much more useful. We are working on additional animations, we had an artist change very late in the project that made it tough for us to get everything in that we wanted, but as we do updates you'll see additional animations and ability effects. I've taken some of the 'fluff' out of the skill descriptions in this update and made them more instructive. All the abilities that you must use on yourself now say 'Must Target Self' and they will now automatically target your character when you select them. I'll try to find other ways to make them more descriptive.
What we're trying to do with this next update ( 1.0.3 ) is make some of these changes. We went back and forth during development about making the game more character focused or party focused. We decided to go party focused for a number of reasons, but after getting a lot of your feedback I think we may have taken it too far. I'm working on something now called the Hero Board, which will be a place that characters who aren't currently in a party can be listed so that they can be pulled into new parties. This will let someone form a party and actually pick individual characters that they want to fill out their ranks, and it will let each player focus in on the characters they like the most and take them from party to party, if that's what they want to do. This is really where I want to go to solve the whole 'random invite' problem but it's going to take some time to implement and we didn't want to leave the people who can't find a party out in the wind while we work on it. Along with this, I'm also going to look at how we can make gold shared across all characters. It doesn't really make sense for someone to have paid for gold on one character and then not be able to revive one of their other characters because they don't have any gold on that one specifically. I'm not sure exactly how we'll make that work, but I'll try to figure out a solution. I'm sure there will be a lot of changes like this as we go along. One of the things that we realized during development was that we weren't going to be able to just come up with all the right answers to these questions. Once that was clear, we knew that we needed to go ahead and launch the game so we could get your feedback and figure out the best way to move forward. Thanks for sticking with us while we get Pocket Heroes to where it needs to be.
Brandon, I have a suggestion about sharing Gold. How about if each user has a "bank account" that each of their characters can deposit/Withdraw Gold from.
Brandon, I'm getting a strange, consistent crash in one of my games. It's in Quest 3, I believe. The two of us approached a hoard of Goblin Warriors, Archers, and Shamans, with a couple of wolves. When I start up this specific game, my partner attacks and retreats, and then it's the Monster Phase, where the game crashes between their move and attack phases. I've already tried restarting the app and respringing the iPhone, so I'm not sure what to do about it.
Unfortunately this is an AI bug on the Shaman. It only happens when he tries to perform a specific ability on a specific target but I've seen a couple other people run into it. It's fixed in the 1.0.2 patch but in the mean-time if you can open the quest and hit the resync button in the menu it should stop the Monsters from moving and allow you to continue. It will only happen at that one specific encounter so hopefully if you can through this turn it won't happen again. Sorry for not being able to give you a better solution.
I like the sound of it (all of it). Looking forward to see it implemented...personally I think I'll stick with a single character and bring him adventuring with different parties (that's why I hope in the future there will be even single, faster, quests). I love to be character focused (I play almost with the very same people so I do not have many problems I read others had), but you seem to provide the best of both worlds.
Hi Brandon, Thx for replying back to all of us so quickly. It's very refreshing to like a game alot and also get designer/creator feedback like this. I just ran into something that sucks. I had 1 unspent talent point and was level 7. The game stated I went to level 8 but when I go to my player card I'm still level 7 and still only have 1 talent point when it said I got 1 more, at least I think it did. All my level 8 skills are still locked too. But my exp bar says I'm level 8 working towards level 9. Any idea if this is a known bug? Did I get screwed over cuz I didn't spend my last talent point and was saving it for 2 level 8 skills? Kinda sucks, and wanted to let u know ASAP. Thx.
I like the idea of having a single character and playing with only that character across different games.
How are you going to handle balance with level 20 chars (idk what the max level is) fighting wolves and stuff. And if I make a new guy and get paired in a group with said level 20 I would not have any fun.
I think it's a great idea to let us keep the characters across games and play with different groups. each game started the player can choose the quest or series of quests that are in that individual game and have level limits on different quests to keep it balanced and interesting
Thank you developer for a fun game. Wanted to report what I think is a bug. I am a mage, with a friend of mine, and we made it to i think the 4th or 5th map, we are in a huge underground cave. From the very start of the map, I have been unable to move. I can attack and kill monsters, cast spells, etc, but I am unable to walk. It looks like i am on top of something, but I can't identify what it is. My partner started on the other side of the map, and just passed me, and there was nothing he could do to unlock me, or somehow help me move. Is this a bug? What am i supposed to do? Thank you.
I have learned a "way around" the slow responding games.....if you have two email addresses, (or three....or four), you can sign up as multiple players and the game goes VERY fast!....UP TO A POINT....I signed up and started a 2 player game with a Paladin and a Mec....but I have died several times in Quest 3.....lol....I NEED HELP!....lol I would not recommend starting a two player game with these two choices, as I am finding it VERY hard to get through that quest....lol
I'm not sure what happened to you but PM me your username in the game and the name of your character and I can check it out.
I haven't seen that one before so I'll need to take a look at your game too. PM me with your username in the game and the name of the character. Thanks!
I don't know if this has been discussed but in one of my game we are start again from the beginning after we finished the sealed door quest. So we have to start from tutorial again. Hope this problem can be resolved soon
We had something similar happen, though not quite as bad. We had finished the tutorial area, and upon entering the inn, we all started over (but kept our experience and items). I hope I don't suffer the same fate as waynebear..
