Actually, this isn't funny at all. I can understand the sensitivity to this. Obviously it wasn't the intent of the devs to offend anyone, but when you speak to someone's culture, race or religion, it can stir up mixed emotions.

No, because that app actually was offensive.

It's all a matter of perspective, like most things in life.

Really, I'm just sick of how everyone has to try and please everyone else. If you don't like something, just walk away.... No one is forcing you to download the app. Try to please everyone, and you'll end up pleasing no one....

I AM a pacific islander, not one on in NZ, but I am one. I've been playing Pocket God quite a bit.

Sure I could see what they're talking about, and even I cringed a bit. But I still had fun.

    Should I be self-hating?

    Now I'm confused.

    maybe....
But basic morals and common sence is what matters.

I can see how PG can be offensive.

    its ridiculous
people overreact about this kinda stuff all the time

    its just stupid
people always need something to complain about

is just a game but people still need to make a fuss and ruin the fun of the game
pocket god could be any kind of little guys on it white black pacific islander
there's just no winning. somebody will end up complaining about it

    the worlds pitiful
im surprised more Christians and god fearing people dont step up about this kinda things either
especially with pocket god since your playing "god"

sorry if that's offensive to anybody but that article is ridiculous
im Jewish and if they were little Jewish pygmies i would give a s**t because its all in good fun
    just a game

    there not real little people

    just my opinion
    everyone's allowed one

Dam now modern warfare 2 won't be made as that offends russians. And civilization will have to be destroyed as that show aboriginis as backward annoyances. Stuff like this is in most games. Look at all the WW2 games. You can't take this stuff seriouly

Sorry, the Jewish pygmies statement is hilarious. So would they be wearing yamukles (little round black hats for those who don't know what I'm talking about)?

This is the slippery slope of censorship I was referring to in the other thread. ;)

Apple needs to play the role of a content provider instead of a babysitter. I'd hope most consumers would be intelligent enough to not buy things that offend them.

Wonder if it was black people in stead of pygmies....
I think Obama would get rid of PG.....lol...
    I'm against racism and disgrimination.
    But hey, ohh well.

I can definitely see how Pacific Islanders would be offended by this, I mean the pygmies are, obviously, Pacific islanders even though the developers declined it. What are they going to do though, make the hundreds of thousands of people who bought it, delete it?? Everyone paid for this, so there's not really too much they can do (no offense).

I think this thread is digressing into a slippery slope so it would be wise to not go any further down the racist route.
