There is something so exciting about having the next layer of frogs waiting - heck I got up in the middle of the night to "move my frogs along" and free up hatching space. Over halfway to 13 now and I have 4 nice frogs waiting to start filling up my dex! Thanks again to all of you especially Q and Snappy this round.
Thanks Andinz - are these for a set/challenge? I looked through awards and sets and didn't see a reference to them so figured would ask .
I have been pondering my strategy once I get to 16. It seems like I can start dexing from top down (slow I know) that way I maximize xp and cash which will level me up and allow me to get better hopping presents. Once I have plenty of cash and all the habs then I can ponder whether I want to "pump up my dex" by going back to the small fry. Any downsides I am not seeing? I would need to have 23 one of each type and then would work through one color at a time.
No, just random gifts. Feel free to sell 'em if you don't need, or I accidentally send you multiples of the same frog.
My experience has been totally random. We always try to find patterns in & reasons for what happens either to have it happen again or avoid it entirely. Once, after having great success with just hatched frogs jumping in the pond (much harder than fully grown ones), I had a super day. At that point, I thought I had found the trick. Eventually I was disabused of that notion. Anyway, that's just my experience. Take it for what it's worth. B.F. Skinner, many moons ago, did studies about random reinforcement with birds. His findings are a perfect example of this. When birds were fed at random intervals, whatever they were doing at the time they were fed became something they tended to do again & again in hopes of getting the same reward. BTW, if you have the persistence to read back among these thousands of messages, you'll find that various people at various times had various schemes for finding presents in the pond, whatever the present was.
Wow!!! Thanks Qwerty!!!! I had no idea there were so many!!!! You're the best!! Anything I can offer?? Immafroggirl
Thanks so much, Q! Seriously, I did intend to get around to it myself since, as I said, 8 stamps to mail something that garners 9 stamps seemed not worth the effort. Zero sum game. And thank you as well for the Request frog you sent. That one will earn 24 stamps, a bonanza. p.s.: Much appreciation, Snappy, for ALSO sending the Request frog! You guys are fast. And generous. Thanks also to Giroth, Andi, & Dom (for the fixings for this week's Set).
I have this week's set as well. Also working on Peaches and Plums, any help will be much appreciated.
It happened again This is easily the 4th or 5th time, 2nd with a Veru, that I tapped to Send my Request Frog & zero, zilch, nada, no change in stamps but Veru gone & Request no longer there. So I lost twice, once by no reward (would have been 24 stamps)& 2nd time by losing value of frog as well. Unlike previous losses, this was something that was mailed to me, not something I bred & used potions on. This happened right after I tamed the frog. Maybe the concept is NOT to redeem a frog until it's about an hour or more after taming, I don't know. It has never happened with a Set. Is this an experience that others have had? I simply can't believe it's just me who's been disappointed this way Finished the Floris Set, thanks to Q. Friend wants all but white, purple, & marine so have these to spare if someone else needs a jump start on this past Set. Have one extra Green Picea Nasus to spare if anyone wants help with beginning this Week's Set. Have three, thanks to Dom, & am ordering Anuras so I can breed remaining three. Will be spending rest of week trying to hop around pond, trying to make up for stamp losses. Two lucky hits would do it. Again, guys, I'm NOT a serious 'dexer. I love trading but too many frogs overwhelm my MB & I am trying to use most of my stamps for gifting. If you want return gifts, don't send me too many!* * I think an exception I & anyone else would make would be Set frogs, tho' not this week anymore. p.s.: Additional thanks to Nirtew for the lovely froggies today.
