Sacred Lion's Guide to Fast Froggydexing Greetings Frogteam! In the spirit of sharing, I thought I would offer up the method I am using to fully populate one breed of frog, in pursuit of the final Froggydex award. PRINCIPLE This guide is based on the principle that once you have purchased all your habitats, the only true constraint is not coins but time. Therefore, it is not the most economical approach (though it is still cash flow positive) but I do believe it is the fastest way to grow your Froggydex. REQUIREMENTS • 3 habitats plus 2 additional spaces • 16 stamps maximum, usually 8-12 • 16 potions maximum, usually 6-8 • Babyproof Kit from the Pro Shop. OVERVIEW The overall method is broken down into three parts. In the first part, you build up 2 “library habitats” of unique color/accent combinations, with no one color or accent repeated across the group, crossbreeding as you go. There are 16 possible accents, so when you complete these library habitats and all of their crossbreeds you will have 256 frogs (plus any extras you already had in your Froggydex when you started). Since there are 23 colors in all, this means that once you have completed your library habitats, you will still have 7 colors to complete. The second part of this method details how to complete these colors. The third and final part is to provide yourself with a cash flow while you are doing all this intensive breeding. It involves simply breeding one habitat full of high-value frogs and letting them mature. PART ONE: Build a library of unique color/accent combinations In this part, you will alternate between adding a frog to the library and cross-breeding that frog with all the other frogs in the library habitats. The overall flow goes as follows 1. Add the first two frogs to the library habitats and tame them (Part 1.A below) 2. Cross-breed them to get both new frogs (Part 1.B below) 3. Add another frog and tame it (Part 1.A) 4. Cross-breed it with each of the frogs already in the library habitats (Part 1.B) 5. Repeat steps c and d above until you are done 1.A Guide to Adding a Frog to your Library Habitats 1. Look in your Froggydex at the breed you’re working with. Find a color you don’t already have in your library habitats, and of these, pick one that has only one frog in it(6.25% complete). If that one frog has an accent that you don’t already have in your library habitats, clone it, use a stamp to deliver it immediately, and tame it. 2. When you have exhausted all unique possibilities for colors with only one frog, then look at the colors with 2 frogs (12.5%), and so on. By moving from less populated colors to more populated ones, you will maximize the number of library frogs you can clone from your existing stocks, reducing the time and/or potion use for additional breedings 3. Eventually, you will run out of existing unique color/accent combinations to clone and have to breed new ones from scratch. [*]a. Find a frog of another breed that has the color/accent combination you want; use Anuras if you’ve got them, as they are the cheapest [*]b. Clone it, use a stamp to deliver it immediately, then tame it [*]c. Crossbreed it 8 times with one of the frogs in your library habitats [*]d. Look in your Froggydex to see if you’ve gotten the frog you want (Froggydex entries appear as soon as you breed the frog; you don’t have to wait for the eggs to hatch) [*]e. If you have successfully bred the desired frog, make a mental note of its value from the Froggydex [*]f. Go to the nursery, find an egg that has the correct maximum value, and use a potion on it to grow it to full size immediately; move it right away to a library habitat [*]g. Sell all of the remaining eggs right away; don’t wait for them to mature (remember that we are optimizing for time, not coins) [*]h. If you were successful, sell the other-breed frog you cloned in step b above; you are done and may move on [*]i. If you were not successful, then repeat from step c above [*]j. One final note. On rare occasion, you will see that your breeding combination will produce a glass or chroma frog instead of one of the frogs you need. When this happens, you will have to use another frog to “breed around” the glass/chroma and get the missing frog. Use a potion or stamp to keep things moving 1.B Guide to Crossbreeding Frogs in Your Library Habitats Each time you add a frog to your library habitats, you will breed it with each frog that was already there using the following steps for each breeding: 1. Make a note the total number of frogs in your Froggydex (you don’t have to go any deeper than the top page to get this. 2. Breed the two frogs together 8 times; fill the nursery 3. Go to the nursery and sell all 8 eggs immediately 4. Check the Froggydex again and see how many new frogs you created. 81% of the time you will be successful in getting both crossbreed frogs the first time. 90% of the time you will successfully breed at least one of the two crossbreed frogs. You will only strike out about 10% of the time 5. Breed again if you missed one or both frogs, otherwise move on to the next pairing and repeat these steps PART TWO: Complete the breed When you finish Part One, you will have two complete habitats full of frogs, with no color or accent repeated, and seven colors remaining to be filled out. 1. For each color, clone a frog of that color in that breed if you have it 2. If you don’t have a frog of a given color in that breed, then either trade or breed it from scratch until you do get one. Use a potion or stamp to keep things going 3. If you have to create the frog from scratch, always use a chroma; it will reduce the probability of coming across an unachievable pairing 4. Then, for each color, crossbreed with each frog in the library until you have all 16 accents for that color. As above, sell all 8 eggs immediately and check your Froggydex after selling off. Since at this point you only need one frog at a time, you will have a 90% success rate for getting the frog you want each time you fill your nursery, so it will go very fast. PART THREE: Maintain a positive cash flow On average, using this approach will cost around 55,000 coins to complete a level 3 breed. So in parallel to what you’re doing above, use a third habitat to breed high value frogs. I use glass chroma magus frogs, which sell for 10,988 apiece, for a net profit of 44,000 per 35-hour breeding cycle. Assuming you spend less than 3 hours a day with your frogs, this will be more than enough to keep your supply of coins growing rather than shrinking as you go. If you are frog-smitten enough to be spending even more time than this, then simply do this in two habitats instead of one. FINAL NOTES: It is theoretically possible to go even faster than this. When you are filling out your colors, you can go for 2 accents per 8-egg breeding cycle (4 breedings each). 23% of the time you will get both of the frogs you need at once, but your strikeout rate will go from 10% to 29%. Overall it’s 1% more efficient than the method above, but not worth the headache as far as I’m concerned. Or you can use frogs from other breeds, and the number of possible additions to your Froggydex from each breeding will go up. But doing this efficiently would require lots of advance planning, which will probably add more to the overall time investment than it would save. So there you have it, a guide to zooming ahead in your Froggydexing. Have fun with it, and let me know how you get on. Sacred Lion. (SacredLion on Plus+)
Does anyone have glass chroma veru I can borrow? I need to complete my catalogue. Willing to trade, pay forward or send back.
Everyone please make a Mini theme of either the Bears or Packers. Preferably the Bears!!!!! PC I'm counting on you! Now let's pray they win Sunday!
Hello Everyone! I am working on some awards and I was wondering if anyone had anyone of the frogs from the Single Rainbow award. I need a Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and Pink ALBEO ANURA. If anyone wouldn't mind sinding me one of those (any of them and I can breen the rest) I'd be happy to send it back to you or send you a frog to replace it. Thank you to anyone who helps out
Those are the awards I didn't do. That's an easy one, especially since you can buy anuras in the store. Save the requests for difficult awards or when you can't breed a frog to save your life
Can anybody send a spare frog idol item? My Plus+ is Metaright, and I'd be happy to send you something in return.
