Hi froggers .... I have been working on reaching level 32 so I can access all frogs ... i'm almost done with level 29.... after trying to dex one breed (Templum) a while ago and not liking it ... I am trying getting XP by dexing yellows starting from the highest level frogs available to me (Tessera and Frondis) and working down .... after being stuck at 29 for ages in 3 days or so I am almost ready to reach 30 .... Once I have reached level 32 I probably just go back to completing back sets, racing and so on .... Your comments echo my situation just a few months ago. I made it to that last award with the help of the people on this forum! I don't know where you stand in your dex count, but you will be amazed at how quickly it will grow. If you complete the Yellows for all breeds that is 1600 frogs - I'm personaly working on Blues. If you have all those Yellows I can bet you will find a few friends here that would love to have some - I've filled a few mailboxes with Blues. I often struggle to keep up reciprocating the gifts I receive - if you are generous, your count will continue to climb. And when we are low in the dex percentage almost every gift is new! Working on sets will also generate new frogs in your dex. Hang in there. If the game remains fun, then you'll be there sooner than later. I can still remember my excitement while reading the post from javaRich thanking me for my gift which was his 5,000th frog! It felt good to be a part of his accomplishment. And guess who sent me my 5,000th frog? That's right, the very same javaRich! You are definitely in the right place, good luck. Take care. Mal (GCid: malbarnes)
Rquilt, your "stab" was on the mark. I'd only add that if you're at 40, Adp, when the theoretical update is released & frogs can now go up to 47, all the frogs between 33 & 40 will be unlocked for you. You'll be able to find them in pond or buy for potions in the FrogMart, if available. Those between 41-47 you'll need to get as a gift (but still won't be able to breed) or you'll simply need to level up to ever higher levels. Desperately hoping that NB will be more judicious in the release of new frogs in the future. Leveling up, even with higher value frogs, still takes a looooong time. A challenge is one thing, an exhausting project is quite another. Rather see a larger MB, as previously mentioned, or something that adds "features" (e.g. an Express Nursery) not just frogs, in the next update. As Mal said, by virtue of playing, trading, & doing current & back sets you'll hit 5,000 eventually. Now, 'dexing is another thing which depends on WHY you're playing the game & what's fun for you, XXX. If not wanting to 'dex is a crime, I've been on the Most Wanted List since I joined this forum. It's fair to say that many people (most?) are seeking that magic 100% number so it may be hard to get support for your point of view here in 'dexers' paradise. If need be, I'll be the lone voice in the wilderness saying "just have fun." Since NB can move the goalposts on a moment's notice, it should be the ongoing journey, not the destination, which gives pleasure, IMO. p.s.: Thanks to Snappy for the Shelbus & dlstar for the Gyrus.
As long as you got at least one! I might have sent 2 - I'm not sure as I was getting ready to breed the next base color. You know there are at least 300 more in the works since I started on maroon. And no, I will not inflict all 300 on my friends list!
Lisianne and RQuilt - thanks for the insight. I'd pretty much figured frogs would unlock for levels earned if a hypothetical update went out with new frogs and one had leveled up already. I don't know if the coins+stamps+potions still go out to players now who are leveling up and are past 32 on achievement of a new level. My significant other who is a long time gamer, describes the need to finish activities entirely within a game as the "need for completion." Some people have it, some don't. I'm enjoying 'dexing for the moment and it is also a means to an end - leveling up to have access to ALL the pretty frogs. The OCD part of me that finds great appeal in PF is most satisfied with challenges, sets and making my habitats appealing. I also like the mini challenges people have come up with here, most recently JavaRich and Where in the World. I too would like to see an expansion with more flexibility, not just more frogs. At this point I'm enjoying the game enough to spend a little money and if I had the option for something like a single "express nursery" I'd buy it.

Lisi I'd love to see more spots in the mail box it's very limiting and is constantly full even if those spots needed purchasing with coins or potions or stamps. I love giving frogs but I can't keep up with the recieving end - and I love all the frogs people send me I think a bigger mailbox would make this more enjoyable rather than a frustration. I'd also love to see some more lower level frogs released along with new upper level frogs to bring a balance even if these frogs were promotional and that goes to another pet peeve I have with pocket frogs is that the version 1 promtional frogs are no longer seen in the frogmart basically making it impossible for any new players to get these frogs unless they know a pre version 2 player. I came on this forum looking for a bulbus frog as at that time i'd been waiting 2 months for it to show up in the mart (had only just missed it as i was just under it's level the last time it was in the mart) that frog has not shown up in the frog mart since the release of version 2. As for dexing I think I fall somewhere inbetween I find i get bored with seeing the same type of frog in my habs all the time. I rather have a variety there, however i do see the advantages of having every frog - makes sets a whole lot easier (though it would be costly just to buy those frogs however if you have the coins to throw at it why not). XXXBR I too am taking a long time to get the last award I have 2 awards left one I should complete this week and the 5000 one I'm 404 frogs off that one - one day it will flash up on the screen and i'll probably miss it. Yeah I reach level 32 - lots of coins and lots of breeding high level frogs and 1 hour and I got there. XXX have sent you both the emblema and Hannea Yasha will send yours out in the morning just need some maturing. Anyone else needing any of the higher level frogs let me know what you need and I'll try and breed as fast as I can. I'll have a full set up for grabs in 48 hours so if anyone wants that let me know. It's so good to be able to finally offer frogs to others so many have helped me out in the past it's great to be able to give back. Ella
