1. What is the capacity of your iPod? If its 8 GB, it can't accept the update as only 32 GB and 64 GB models are actually 3G. The 8 GB model is 2G. From Apple support forums: "iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318." http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009 2. Are you using the latest version of iTunes? Sometimes an older version may report no updates available. 3. @ Lisianne: yep, Schadenfreude is a brilliant word that expresses something we just don't have a single word for in English - which is why we nicked it from the Germans, I suppose. Ambisinistrous is the antonym of ambidextrous, and yes, it means equally clumsy or inept with either hand. I've known people like that.
Thanks Snappy. I have a 8 GB and now that you mention it I vaguely remember reading that at one time. One of the reasons I went ahead and got an iphone. I guess I just didn't expect Apple to make it obsolete so soon by making devs upgrade their games. Problem "solved" but not happy. Not sure what I am going to do with the ipod now, I guess play sudoku/solitaire/minesweeper while they are still useable.

I know the gifts we're getting are random, and Nimblebit doesn't even have to be giving them out and I should just shut up and be grateful, but when my roomie gets 40 potions today and for the third damned day in a row I get 5 stamps, I'm really starting to get peeved...

I have the 32 GB. No camera and a bit laggy on some games but doing ok. The number of times my kids have dropped it or even thrown it in frustration I'm happy it's still going. Sleep button's getting dodgy though. Tries to sleep and power down by itself which can get annoying in the middle of a game.

Lost gifts, software update, and Skeletos Could I have a Glass Albeo Signum, Floresco, Magus, and Glacio on my RedSky58 account? Long story short, I logged in last night and accepted a mailbox-full of gifts last night. The game crashed right after and I lost all of those gifts, which included half of a set (First Snow) that I'm still finishing from a few weeks ago. TIA. I'm updating my iPod (BlueWater27) from ios 4 to ios 6 today, so please DON'T SEND ME ANY GIFTS as they will most likely be lost in the restore process. I would hate to waste anyone's stamps. I'll let you know when I'm done updating. Guess what I found this morning? Mmhmm, another Skeletos! Every other red present I get is a stupid Skeletos! P.s. @Andi - I think the reason we "nick" so many words from other languages is that we simply DON'T have an easy or exact equivalent. Like déjà vu, for example -- it would take many words to define that sensation so we use the French expression which is incredibly succinct. Foreigners are not exempt from stealing our words either, especially now in the field of technology. Or they use a somewhat close equivalent (i.e. LOL is MDR). In the earlier days of remote controls for TVs the French used to say "changer de chaînes de télévision avec la télécommande" (8 words) while we said "channel surf" (2 words) They eventually changed it to the verb "zapper" (1 word) & did us one better! OK, enough linguistics. I should open my own forum, maybe call it "Oh, My Word!" @BW27- I DID say to enjoy the earlier days with TT. Floors get wickedly more expensive to buy as the game goes on & so progress slows. Ironically, NB let the earlier adopters get way ahead in the coin/bux area so now most can buy/populate all new floors when an update is released. As for PPs, again the beginning is fast & addictive. As the plane slots become more expensive & the planes cost more bux, things get slower. Plus, unlike PF & TT, it requires more careful planning & strategy which can be enticing to the most competitive among us & less appealing to those who don't have the time, energy, or internal incentive to persevere. @penemuel It's ironic that when we didn't know these gifts were part of a major NB gifting effot until X-Mas, we were happier with what we received. On the PP forum, some have received entire hard-to-get, unreleased, or wildly expensive planes while some a mere 5 bux or part of a low-cost plane. Lots of grumbling there so you're hardly alone! If it's any consolation, I haven't received gifts from NB for PF every day. Got nothing for first two days, nothing yesterday either. Today was 5 potions. I *know* gifts are random but I'm coming to believe that daily recipients are just as random. p.s.: Thanks to Nirtew for the Frondis & to Martin for the Ligo. Don't need it for the Giving Gifts Set so I'll just keep it since I always wanted a Ligo My Own.
Successful update! @lisi- yea, even now with only 15 or 16 floors the initial addictiveness is slowly fading. Pocket Frogs is the only game I'm really "hooked" on. It doesn't seem to get old even after 11 months of addictive play. Good news! I updated my poor obsolete iPod from iOS 4 to iOS 6! I lost my Music somewhere in there and I'm figuring out how to get it restored (for some of it was not directly from the iTunes store), but Pocket Frogs, Tiny Tower, and Happy Street are saved, along with my other older and newer apps. Doing the happy dance!

Mailbox full.... .........I forgot to check where they came from ..... Ingneous ..... Hennae..... I noticed that when gifts come in as a "double" and are accepted whilst mailbox full .. They only show up as a single once there is space again .... Has anyone else noticed this? It seems best to sell the "clone" straight away or it's lost.... XXX

Update, and more Skeletos I've been absent most of this evening because I've been reconstructing my entire music library that was lost in the update.(200 songs)(yes, it's taken this long!) That's because the music came from a variety of sources: iTunes, Amazon, my hard drive and "downloads". All of this was spread out across folders in two different computers, and some of those folders have been deleted. So it's been a stressful couple of hours, but I finally have every song accounted for (I think). Since iOS 6 users can post a GC picture (iOS 4 can't), I decided to make mine a Skeletos, yes, a Skeletos, in honor of the frog that has plagued my pond for the past few days.

Glad you got everything done and all is well. I remember when I had to get a new laptop and had to redo my music library. Lucky for me I had it all on a flash drive but it took forever to do (of course, I have over 1700 songs). Made the mistake of starting late in the evening and ended up taking a few hours.
