I dex by breed and within that primaries for secondaries.
My main reason for dexing by breed is seeing that "breed X 100%'' show up on my dex list feels like a job well done and gives me incentive to go on.

A second reason related to the first is that dexing by color means a lot of dexing before I reach my sub-goal: 1600. Admittedly there's less sub-goals, 23 vs 100 - to reach 100%, but for me that ultimate goal seems eons away, so I'd like to stick with being happy reaching more but lesser sub-goals.

Another reason is the way I dex within breeds. I try to breed so that I have a 50% chance of a new frog. That means that if I have say a Maroon Tingo and I need a Maroon Carota, I look for a frog that is a Carota and which needs a Tingo. Say a Red Carota meets that criteria. I breed these 2 and if I get either Maroon Carota or A Red Tingo I've gotten a new frog, and that's a 50% chance. To keep track of this I draw up a matrix, Primaries down and secondaries across.
I can't see how I could efficiently do this breeding by color. My matrix would be (now) 100 frogs down by 16 across.

So for my breeding method (hunting for 50% payout) dexing by breed is a lot easier.

    Memories

Was reading the post for the FROGGYDEX Game and decided to see if I could find any of my old PF stuff. I found my notebook with all my printouts and list of PF friends.

The first time I finished the froggydex I offered everyone on the thread 16 frogs of their choice. It was interesting to see the names of friends that were on the thread at the time. Some are still here and many have left.

It is great that so many "new" people have joined. I hope you stay for a while. Keep us posted on the progress of your game, thoughts you have as you play and anything else. :)

Having thought about it I think I will go back to Froggydexing by breed as it's what I'm used to and there is too much juggling with doing it by colour. I will have to clear out my habs for the eggs though otherwise I'm running out of cash pretty soon.

Depending on how populated my cloud is and if I'm looking for a specific frog that's in my cloud, I will spend 0-2 stamps to free up my MB. I would like to know how others handle their MB and cloud. Do you just sit and wait for delivery? What do you do if you have, say, 15 frogs in your cloud?

I have another question. With Plus+, with a full MB, the frogs in your cloud would cycle through: first one would be offered, than the next, and the next, etc. With GC I can't figure out what happens. It appears that when you open PF with a full MB, GC offers you a new frog. Then I think later it offers you the first frog in your queue. then it appears it does not offer you subsequent frogs. I know certain frogs are in my cloud; I accepted them with a full MB. But I seem never to see them offered again until I've worked through the earlier frogs. My observations are confused by the fact that half the time I'm getting duplicates offered one right after the other.

Nebula sent, they're my bread and butter so that was easy :D.

Re mailbox + cloud, it does seem to be smarter with stopping offering if your box is full, but then it seems to not wait very long before offering again - pressing the home button and reloading seems to prompt the offer of a gift just as it did before, but before I think you had to quit it from the multitasking tray as well to get this effect. Now it sometimes loads fresh anyway, and, I have this suspicion that frogs are draining my battery faster than they used to!

I think I have the gift queue figured out now actually, viz:

Open PF - gift frog is offered (included restarting from sleep mode)
GC logs in - gift frog is offered
Hopping in the pond and land on a pond present - gift queue is triggered within a few seconds.

As we've seen, these can happen simultaneously.

So my solution is to wait for the first two events, and to pay attention in the pond, quickly accept or decline the pond presents, and then wait a few seconds for the queued frog to be offered, keeping fat fingers well away from the middle of the screen until it appears.

So far today, no accidental selling of gifts (touch wood!).

Until today, I never had any trouble sending or receiving frogs. Now it appears that I can Receive frogs...sometimes I get offered more than one of the same frog? but when I go to GIFT a frog, PF flashes to the old Neighbors screen and then PF crashes.

I do Not see options of who to send frog to once I get dialogue box saying "send one a b c frog to friend?". When I answer SEND it goes to old neighbors screen, now black and cashes.

any suggestions? Are others having trouble with Game Center and PF?

    thanks

Wysky0. (that's a Zero at the end of Wysky)

I'll agree with this, that's pretty much what happens with me too.

In regards to the MB queue, and frogs in the cloud, I've always tended to leave them until they're delivered, and then find somewhere to put them, but for the last few days (ie since the update) I've been using stamps to bring them out early and make room for more. I've also discovered that if I'm planning on taming frogs, it's a good idea to only empty out one spot at a time because otherwise once I've jumped on that first pond present, the cloud queue will fill it up again, and there'll be no room left for the next pond present.

I'm sending you some cash frogs now :) Apologies for overloading your MB but if you don't want to dex them you can just sell them straight away for the coin. :)

Confused as well about the order of presentation. Will wait & see how that plays out.

As for the duplicates, I'm very certain that if you tap too fast or twice on the same frog you'll get two frogs -- this is a bug. It's happened to me by mistake 3 times & it's getting very old, very fast. We're talking about frogs which can't be removed from the MB by deletion until they are mature. The ability to delete frogs from a MB was a common suggestion. It's unfortunate NB didn't or couldn't implement it.

Random question: if it took those who finished the 'dex prior to the update two or so years to do so, how long will it take those intrepid souls to finish now that all frogs mature in such a long time?

p.s.: To my froggie benefactors out there, major thanks. Thanks to MartiNZ for the Nebula, spearcom for the Tabula, Dom for the Templum & Cygnet for the Pulvillus & the Shelbus.

p.s. All newbie frogs in my first hab are ready to be gifted. Let me know if you want or need one of them.

    Just updated safely. Nickname=BlueWater27

The queue (spelling?) gifts did not carry over, but I decided to update rather than be left in the dust. I may not accept requests for a while (like a week) due to a glitch that keeps me from adding friends, but I know how to fix it. It'll just be a while before I can.

Found a Pluma, but I had foolishly left my MB full with Plus+ queue gifts. I did find a Templum after that though. My wish list is basically every new frog besides the Templum, and I promise I'll reciprocate when I can. I have limited wifi.

I'm glad to be back in trading business again!:D
