This is speculation, but pretty sure this is right: Plus+ will continue to work on the current version of Pocket Frogs even after the new version comes out. So there really won't be any high pressure to move to the new version. Everyone with trading queues they do not want to lose can just keep the old version as long as necessary. Someday Plus+ will go away, but I'm sure it will be plenty long enough for everyone to upgrade. The new version will not have Plus+ support at all. So the moment you upgrade, there will be no more incoming frogs from Plus+ and all your neighbors will be reset to what I would imagine is whatever friends you have on Game Center that also have the new version of PF installed. I suspect this is mainly because they are trying to finish and move on. So unless the new version introduces a bunch of new bugs to fix, I would not expect any more updates after this one. I recall reading somewhere that PF is written in a language that NimbleBit no longer wants to use... so if we see any more PF releases from them it would probably be an all new game. "Pocket Frogs 2" anyone? P.S. My GameCenter name is the same as my Forum name, and same as Plus+, and anyone on here that wants to add me, feel free. I'm not a "big time" trader, but I will fill requests when I can, and try to gift back, but I'm not very organized about my incoming list, so I probably forget to gift back people when I get a bunch at once.

Sent and welcome back PF update - Since I already have the dex done I will probably update quickly and hope for no major glitches. Will backup iphone today and have the game on my ipod. My question with the update - Will we still be able to play offline? I got alot done on PF while I was commuting and would hate to lose that function of the game. Guess we will get alot of our questions answered soon.

If you do not update, your system will not recognize any of the new breeds. So yeah, if you don't want to trade or receive any of the new breeds, no pressure. Also if you are still on Plus+ and all your friends are all on Game Center, you cannot trade with them, only with friends still on version 1.
It's *always* sensible to keep a backup of the program .ipa of any app you would simply hate losing. This is separate & in addition to the normal backup with iTunes or iCloud. I wrote detailed instructions on the now archived NB Support Forum on how to do this & make the switch back, if necessary. As a trader, it will become a necessity to put one's GC ID in one's sig. As I am doing this "multiple quote reply" thing, I see this is already happening. Don't think this is possible. You can change your gamer name on GC but you'll lose whatever other game is dependent on this name. Someone will prove me wrong, I hope. Last update, most levels were those that took the longest time to breed (potions) or receive (stamps). As I recall, all the scenery was the 36 happiness points (most expensive to buy/receive). This time, with some 40ish new frogs, I'd guess they'd try to address the complaint of no new frogs after level 16 by adding new frogs AFTER that level, IOW, more high value stuff. I'd hope they'd moderate all this by adding some lower value frogs for those just starting out. Plus, I hope they would prove they've listened over the last year to suggestions of users by implementing other improvements (e.g. Express Nursery), bug fixes, etc. The stuff about written in another program came from info posted by Dani on the NB Support Forum for why PF hadn't had an update in a long time. Guess they've solved that problem. Not sure I foresee a PF 2 if they're adding so much to this version. Agree with both you & Cygnet (whom I forgot to multiple quote -- sorry) that they can't stop Plus+ support for people who aren't updating. Also as s/he said, as with the last update, failure to keep current would mean one could not receive newest version frogs -- it was this way with the last update.
Indeed. Updates have now added frogs at levels: 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. The last update just continued the pattern that had been coming along. In the past they have claimed there could be problems adding frogs beyond level 16, I think insofar as ensuring that people already past that point would correctly be made eligible. I also hope they don't take another step beyond in time to mature. Well, let's see tomorrow .

Game Center Hi all. I've been catching up on the updates about the pending upgrade. Ive been trying to add all of you to Game Center since, hopefully I've got you all. My id is the same as my forum name (vtbebop) in case i've overlooked anyone. Been without power thanks to the blizzard backlash from sandy so I've been preserving precious battery life. Hope all is well with everyone
I'm pretty nervous / excited about this update, for sure! Despite the fact that my 'dex percentage is just about to plummet. My Game Center ID is the same as here: Quossum. Glad to have any of my usual trading buddies add me, or I'll add you...or however it works on GC. Fingers crossed for no weird glitches or bugs! --Q
You are quite welcome! It occurs to me that sending gifts between now and the update just contributes to MB backlog for all my trading friends. So, I sent out a round of 'happy Halloween' froggies this morning, and a few other things, but as strange as it feels, from now until the update comes through I am going to go cold turkey on the sending of gifts. See you on the other side, when we will all find out how frog trading will (hopefully) work in GC?
Lol, I just realized I worded that wrong. I meant it to be towards everyone, not just you. So apologies if I sounded like I was being exclusive. especially since I hardly know who's gifted BW or RS lately except for danj, Maholah, and Aurafomenaces09. the reason I don't do thanks anymore is because with all of the gifts, I can't tell if the frog was sent an hour ago or a month ago.
Regarding the upcoming new version of PF, please do not send any gifts to me also until after I update. I will wait until the cloud queue frogs catch up in my SnappyMcFrog game before updating. Yeah, I had already decided to hold off on my gifting until after the update; hope no one thought I was being stingy! I've been keeping track, though, for when we're back in business. Well, I just reinstalled this after a year when I heard of the update dirching Plus for Gamecenter. I'm Don'tShoot! Or DontShoot! I forgot. Just check my profile. Actually, I installed it on a different device; I got a warning about not being able to somethingoranother two devices, but the Plus network was always the best at storing storing saves. Too bad Openfeint took off instead. So I seem to have all my info, though, to be honest, I was never a rabid player. It still shows plus members as the people to trade with; I assime that will change.
