Regarding the discussion of the upcoming PF update using GC for sharing gifts and not Plus+, what will happen with the backlog of the cloud queue gifts? I know that there are many frogs which have not landed in my mailbox because it is usually full… Finally finished the last one of the Violet Floresco after 22+ recent attempts. I tried about three different breeding combos to get just 1 Chroma! Thanks to Dean, Domenic, Gracesqx, JavaRich!, Maholah!, Miamare, Quossum!, and anyone else who sent gifts recently. A nice evening to everyone.

It's been so long I just forgot but you're absolutely right, Dean. A follower (no equivalent on GC) can send a gift. I'd be the next to say how I totally dislike GC. I have to use it for PPs but I find it inflexible to say the least. One of its main purposes is to promote other games to you or have you promote them to others. Its leaderboard is uninformative in all but where one stands in terms of other players. You can't see their airline, you can't view their flight paths, their level, etc. IOW, not much use UNLESS you're heavy into competition. You CAN challenge others. Part of the fun of PF is the community. Seeing others' habs is integral to this communal spirit. It's a "Neighborhood" & one has Neighbors. Instead of dropping in for a cup of sugar, we drop by to see what someone has or may need. We check out their furnishings for decorating ideas. Etc. Much as I dislike how many times I've had to delete PF & reinstall to get my friends list back, I still prefer the Plus+ implementation. Aaack! Good point, Snappy! And what of the people who have given up & deleted the game & then reinstall once they hear there's an update. Will they have the same unfortunate fate of those installing v. 2 of PF & trying to get their now incompatible data back? And, how would GC handle the concept of the Inbox? Would people just get gifts (like PP players get planes) with no queue? If so, stamps would lose much of their value since they'd just be used for gifting others not for speeding along the contents of one's Inbox. So many questions.
This may be a function of what the devs want and not a problem with GC. I play Dragonvale and it uses GC to send gifts, backup the game and we can visit friends parks. You can also play your game on any idevice by signing into your GC account. Pocket Potions also uses GC for gifting but does not use it to back up games and we can visit friends shops.
Lol, have I started the Game Center Protester's Group with just one post? I don't know that this rumor about a replacement of Plus+ is true, which is why I've all but refused to participate in the discussion about Game Center. Like I've said before, this game needs improvement, not change. But like any company, NB will probably act in it's own best interests, not the user opinions. And after all, wasn't I the one who was complaining about Plus+ issues on GetSatisfaction a few months ago?
I think it is human nature, no system is perfect and we like to complain. But since we know how Plus+ works and how to work around the problems, we don't want to lose it for something we are unsure about. Here is a "problem" that I have with Plus+ and wonder if anyone else has it? About once a month Snappy changes from friend to follower and I have to add them back. Where was a Pocket Frogs update announced? I am about 62% into my froggydexing. It will be nice to see some new frogs but I hope there's not too many high end frogs added because I'm chewing through my froggy money with the high end breeding. Making my way through Geminus. Dean, I noticed Snappy was suddenly following me again today, too. In thinking about this, I pose a possible theory: "Snappy," as he likes to be called, is a photographer--he likes to "snap" pictures, hence the moniker. Further, he seems to like to follow people. Based on these two hints, I believe it is not too far afield to make the conjecture that our beloved Snappy is ... a member of the paparazzi! (Hide your young children--er, froglets!) (Also, Snappy, next time please let us know what you need. 22 tries for a Floresco?! The coin pile shudders at the thought!) Thanks to Dom, Bluewater, Dean (Yea! I determined what could be the cause of the "following" issue. Periodically, I reorganize my friends list (as new people are added, the TA list gets pushed down.) I believe what you both saw was me moving your usernames closer to the top of the list. Since I primarily use the iTouch, much scrolling would be required to trade frogs if I did not reorganize it! In retrospect, I could use the other method, but I usually forget to do so. P.S. I do take photos on occasion, but usually of flora and fauna. Thank you,
Well, you went from 'friend' to 'follower' on my list today too, but your theory could explain it? Getting near the end of the 'dex, and Quossum, dean, Maholah and Dom in particular seem to have a knack of sending really useful froggies along just when they are needed - thank you all, and everyone else who's trading with me right now. Gifts of frogs I've already dexed provide useful coin; pressure focus breeding is expensive and every bit helps! I made position #23 on the 'gifts sent' leaderboard over the weekend too, finally moving up! It occurs to me that this feature will disappear as well if Plus is dropped? I'm no fan of Plus, it drives me nuts, but this is the measure I've used to track progress relative to the rest of the PF community.
