Don't like this idea that the Dex may increase before I get there at all I'm not going to play this game forever. I tried to quit twice, I picked my stopping number, like 7,777 and then again a few thousand later. If they expand the Dex I may just write a note and quit. This said I think they should change the colors. I.e. Golden is too close to Orange. Floris and that horrid Violet that's actually fushia. sp? Violent terrible pinks ): and Azure & Calliana and Green & Mucus & Follium. Or the three greens that are all too close in hue and saturation when there are 100s of greens to choose from. Why so many color that make it difficult to see the patterns? Oh and Coffee, Bruna & Coco, And white and albeo even Ceres is too close to white ( ugh! Okay, I just woke up and noticed this update conversation, sorry to be grumpy, but I think this too similar color thought a lot. Also, I agree I hope they are not "potion" frogs. And do I have to upgrade? Does it just happen? Or do I have to download it?
Good ideas, Blue Water, you've obviously given this a good deal of thought. This was along my lines of using ideas from TT & PP. Special planes which can't be purchased can be won in whole or part by completing team challenges. BTW, TouchArcade always has the #1 team. If NB introduces "bux," that'd allow people to buy money, an idea requested by DeanK a bit earlier in this thread. On a similar note, I've completed the set & sent out pairs of White Tingo Geminus (instructions: breed wait 16h 53 m & mix with Black Picea Anura - voilà!). I didn't check habs but just sent out randomly. As you said, Dom, it was kind of fast & easy - a blessing for the busy or the relative beginner, however.
To start off, thanks everyone for the gifts. I was in too much of a hurry to see where they all came from. I think I got a Geminus from either Dom or Snappy. For some reason I get you two mixed up, probably because you were the first two people to talk to me when I joined. I'm still waiting to get my Sparkly Gems delivered. Plus has a way of giving me my gifts in a bad order. @lisi- that list was made back in a day when I was a constant wikia editor. The list I posted here was shrunk, so it's not even the whole thing. I remember spending ~an hour on that list. So, in a way, I did spend a lot of time and thought on it. The way I see it, there are two categories of games: games that need to be changed and games that need to be improved. I think PF falls into the second category, which is a good thing.
Perhaps in the new update the devs could unlock some of the potion frogs for the racing mini-game? It is somewhat illogical to be able to race Lanterna, Tribus, Glacio, etc and not be able to win any frogs from those breeds. Also, the ability to race friends through Game Center would be an exciting option. One of my favorite features of PF is the Chroma and Glass Mutations (and how they can be won in races ). Another mutation or two would be a welcome addition! Which mutations would you like to see? Moreover, I like MartiNZ's idea of more mini-games in PF. If the launch pads for them were hidden in the pond, that would add to the challenge! My mutation ideas: Gold/Silver "Sparkly" (glittery Rainbow (not color-changing) I'm curious as to what the time frame is for the update. The way David Marsh talked, they had gotten past the problems they told us about on GetSatisfaction, and are currently in the works of producing an actual update. It was awesome (at least for the short time I was on GS) to get to actually talk to the developers. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked.
An update? And I was finally at 74% dex! Oh, well, I'd still like to see some new breeds. What I'd like to see: A way to manipulate *all* the frogs in a hab at once: sell all or move all at least. New frogs too be findable in the pond Use stamps more selectively Message friends New scenery / backgrounds. I want the higher-value/happiness ones, because I won't likely be getting the "cheaper" ones no matter how pretty. Thanks to all my usual trading friends! Has anyone seen Ian Marsh's Twitter? We have two confirmed new breeds: the Mustachium and the Templum. It makes me wonder how far they'll go with our next update. thanks much for the generous gifts danjarus; the Cesti, Viduo, Spinae, and Insero, all of which were new to me, and anything else you sent that I missed. My mailbox is full again, so thanks will be "few and far between".
Makes me wonder if they are playing with us. The Templum looks possible but the Mustachium, a frog with a mustache ?? Will be interesting.

I just checked Ian's Twitter feed to see two of the new frogs, and he said the update will be in "a few weeks." Here's hoping it's VERY few! In the meantime, I've been trying to increase potions, stamps and coins. I've been leaving my phone open to PF while I do other things so I can catch more requests. Thanks to Snappy, Danjarus, Andi, Dom, Java, Disastrously and Heeranc for the frogs! :-D
PF Update: I think I read somewhere (here on the thread) that after PF updates that they will no longer use Plus+. My guess, along with others, is that they will switch to GameCenter for us to gift frogs. If you don't have a GameCenter account you may want to go ahead and set one up. If you do and you go in and check your status on games you will notice that it says that you have never played Pocket Frogs You will need to sync your game. To do this just go into the PF menu and open GameCenter. It will ask something like.. Do you want to sync your game.. press yes. Not sure of the exact wording because it has been a while since I did it. My gamecent ID is the same name I use every where, dean288367, if you want to go ahead and send me a friend request. Note: Not sure if someone has to accept a friend request before you can trade with them ?? Does anyone know for sure? I am guessing you do because in other games I play that use GC, you cannot gift unless they are a friend.
Can't see NB going any other way than GC since both other NB games such as TT & PP sync with it. I'm guessing you're also correct that one needs to accept someone as a friend before one can trade, Dean, just like on Plus+. It works that way with PP so it's logical. p.s.: Yes, I sent the Geminus frogs, Giroth. Thanks for the thanks. And for the Arbor.
With the Plus+ network you can send a gift just by making someone your friend even if you are a "follower" to that person, it can be a one-sided friendship . In other words, BOTH people don't have to be friends with each other to gift. In GC I think you have to be friends on both sides. One peson sends a friend request and the other person MUST accept it before gifting can work. Not sure what happens if someone ignores the request. Hope that makes more sense.
I would be the first one to admit that I do not like Game Center. That's why I'm hoping the rumor of the replacement was just that-a rumor. Plus+ has many issues (including the missing friend's list, which I found an easy fix for), but I would still use it over GC. As a matter of fact, the only reason reason I have a Game Center for my iPad is for DragonVale. I'm still surprised they are actually planning an update, since I had given up this game as a lost cause a long time ago.
