I'm also hoping for an update to PF in iOS 6, Lisi. I agree, PF should have the option to use stamps one at a time and the ability to delete accidental mailbox items before they deliver (ie, scenery found in the pond which I've auto-accepted:eek: ).

Thanks to Danjarus, Gracesqx, Quossum!, Miamare!

and anyone else who sent gifts recently.

A good evening to everyone. :)

I haven't been around here in a few thousand pages, but I am about to be the first of our smaller, and getting smaller all the time Frog Share, to dex out - 80 Persona to go. And I heard about the madness of the coming update earlier today, which makes me think I had better rejoin this thread before long as we are all going to need as much support as we can get, lol.

mvon007 on plus+, for what its worth when that is being done away with as well.

What is the tally on full dexes here now?

LOL, Martin, you started this mess when you emailed NB support! :) AND I'm really glad you did, because having the heads-up means I have a fighting chance of getting to 100% before the update kicks in.

I asked if anyone had heard anything more on it (timeframe, for example...), and the rest is history. So happy NimblDave confirmed an update is coming, just wish I knew when, 'cos I still have a bunch of frogs to dex.

Speaking of which, I better get back to it... :D

Here is a feature I was thinking about the other day:

If you have purchased the "Babyproof Kit" that allows eggs in any habitat, it would be cool if when the nursery was full it would automatically start bumping the oldest eggs into the next available habitat. That would save time when you're breeding a bunch. I would not want it to bump hatched frogs, just fill empty spaces with the overflow eggs.

    More ideas:

I would also like even more habitats. I have a large collection that I don't want to throw away... one of each breed... so if we have twice as many breeds, that type of collection would be impossible without nearly twice as many habitats.

At first I was thinking I too would like to use stamps one at a time, but then i realized that is not really helpful... as you can't do anything with an item in your inbox until it's delivered.

I would like the ability to dump something from the inbox.

I also think that if you do not want a frog you find, you should sell it rather than just throw it away, just like when you receive a gift you don't need you get some coins for it.

I would like to be able to gift stamps, potions and coins. I can see why allowing that for stamps and potions would be bad for them since that is one of the few IAPs, but I have more than I need of both, and I like to be generous.

I think an IAP for coins would be smart. Early in my game before I learned to manage, I got low on coins and could not breed for a while. I also might have spent money to get more habitats early on. I didn't mind waiting for frogs to mature/deliver, but I didn't like having too few habitats to move stuff around so I probably would have bought more if I could have.

I doubt the developers are reading this thread... but if there is a better place to make suggestions, let us know. :D

    Somewhere else
DEFINITELY agree with the fact that releasing them all at once would be overwhelming. Moving the goal posts this far in one fell swoop might give pause to the most dedicated 'dexer. If you, Dean, no longer want to complete such an extensive index what about the less than 100% players?!

It would be stupid from a business standpoint as well. If they spread releasing new breeds out, NB would have material for "updates" on a regular basis.

I hadn't thought about your second point, non-potion frogs (found in pond or as a morning gift) but I think it's great. That would be an element of unexpected "fun" added to the game. It would keep eyeballs on the game on a more regular basis if one never knew when a specialty frog would appear. Indeed, that's once how these frogs DID appear before NB figured out they could "indirectly" potentially monetize them.

Love your first idea, DeanK. It's tedious to move eggs one by one from the nursery to another hab. I wouldn't pay for this feature but I'd like it.

I also like dumping something from the Inbox since I mentioned it previously. You can inadvertently click on OK when you don't want something or find a Veru & not want to use 6 stamps to get rid of recently found whatever to free up space.

IAP for coins, I dunno. Whether one plays PF or TT or PP one always begins coin-poor. It's a great incentive to continue playing the game rather than giving up. And, in a matter a speaking, you can gift stamps & potions by gifting a Weekly Set to someone. If this person sells it, s/he gets the coins as well. Further, there's too direct & obvious link between real cash & coins. Even in PP, the player can only buy "bux" (which can be changed into coins = less direct). Maybe NB would introduce "bux" in this game? Who knows??

Don't know what the devs read now that they closed their Support Forum. The only thing I'm pretty certain of is that they'll reuse ideas from what they learned from TT & PP (a specialty frog for a Weekly Set at times, maybe?). And judging from their other games, they'll make a greater effort to make money.

The last update had 10 new frogs, most of them requiring 6 stamps to mail or 1d21h to breed. The new scenery also cost more. I'd expect more of the same with maybe a 5,6,7 or more legendary category of frogs. More time to breed=more potions, more money to receive=more stamps. More potions & more stamps=more money.

I'm not saying NB is greedy and/or predatory, far from it, but it is in the business of making money & that will & should be on their minds.

I actually think they should release these all at once, but have them be for higher levels. After a certain level, there is no access to a new breed, and so perhaps all of these can be added to Level 17 and over. That would be okay with me. If they added 3 frogs per level to 17+, that would add some goodies up to Level 35 or so.

But I suppose that's easy for me to say. I've been playing PF since it debuted and finished my 'dex. Level 44 here.

Actually, using stamps one by one could be helpful. For instance, if you get out of work/school at a certain time and you wanted to take off a few hours so it would mature before you got home. You could also use this to make sure sets get delivered by 11:59 on Wednesday night (10:59 for me since I live in Central). That's just my take on things; I could be wrong.

Here is a revised list of some suggestions I put on PF Wiki back in March or April:

Fix glitches, especially time travel (because I always have to empty my mailbox and nursery when I travel to an earlier zone, which I do a lot.)
Make a way to message neighbors (my top one).
New breeds (I am level 17 and already I am hungry for new patterns).
More habitat and/or Mailbox space (10 seems to be the magic number, especially after the Heat Wave incident).
Stats (lifetime frogs, gifts sent, etc. so we don't have to go to Plus+ to see it)
A way to store and sell habitat back, grounds you've replaced (or maybe a preview mode). In January when I first started playing I accidentally replaced my Nursery "Frog Print Habitat" with a Dirt habitat that I hated and I didn't get my Nursery background back until mid-March!
    More Frog "games."
When you have the option to use potions to mature a frog, make an "are you sure?" box to make sure you want to use potions. I don't know how many potions I've wasted because the baby frog was hopping around, I had to tap it twice and I just HAPPENED to tap right where the "use potions" button was.
Make it so that you can turn off sounds or have a "music" mode where you can listen to music or mute while playing.

Yes indeed. Many will know that because of the limitations of the catalogue.... I hope they extend that to 100 as well!

It would be cool if they enabled -all- breeds for the pond, but I also wouldn't mind if they added some for beyond level 16, just as long as the breed time didn't increase exponentially lol, I tend to run at very few potions on hand.

@Andi: yeah, nothing like a new iPhone with bigger screen to make me want an update, and so cool that they're up for it as well lol ... we just better hope there's no new feature that requires an update next year, or we'll NEVER get anywhere near finished. As it is, almost doubling the dex means we might as well start from 0%. Wonder if they'll finally add more achievements - those were awesome motivation, in the early days of this thread /nostalge.

I was thinking about the achievement awards, too. I really hope they add some of those, as it would put more life back into the game. (Although the fact that there was no award for completing the dex made me wonder if they realized people actually would.)

Also, thanks for the frogs I've been getting! I enjoy trading, and it helps keep the game going until the update arrives. Thanks to Snappy, Dom, Java, Disastrously, Danjerous, Heeranc, Quossum and Bluewater. Good to be making new friends/trading partners! :)

Well initially the 'dex 5,000 frogs' achievement was 'complete 50% of the dex' and then as they kept increasing that number I guess they decided to make it a bit easier. As it is, will any of us ever -truly- finish? :)

No worries Sneeb. Glad my trades are of some use. I do wonder when I see someone as close to completing the dex as you are.

And a big thanks back to you for all the frogs you send out and good luck with the last 11%.

Hi to everyone else on the forum! :)

There could be a new twist on achievements and/or weekly sets, hypothetically. As a reward, new breeds could be the prizes. Anyone else like the idea?

Thanks to Andi, Danjarus, Dean!, Gracesqx!, JavaRich!, Maholah!, Miamare!, Moe4165, Quossum!, :)

and anyone else who sent gifts recently.

    A good evening to everyone.

Not a big fan of having to "unlock" or win breeds; in previous new breed releases I've been really keen to get them all at least inserted in the dex asap ... although 47 new breeds might change that a bit lol. Good thinking though. Even just a new game or two would be cool - they could even just insert dizzypad in there.

    Hey guys,
I'm hoping they add some new games in as well, something other than racing and puzzle would be awesome!
Anyhow, if someone had a spare dextera they could fling my way then I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks,

Sent out a matron tingo Dextera for you.

I am sorry that I have not been posting much lately but I have been keeping up on everyone's posts. My feelings are just this...any update will be a welcome sight as it has been a long time coming.

On another note, this week's bowling set is a bit lame. Sorry! But someone had to say it. If anyone needs a white tingo Geminus, please let me know.
