I remember thinking I was crazy to start over but I wanted to be more involved in the game, the community, and I felt a name change was completely necessary! It wasn't long after I joined this forum which has been an incredible Pocket Frog experience! And for that experience, I am most grateful! I took your advice and went through some of the old trading thread posts. I came across one where dean288367 expressed a desire to reach level 50, look at dean288367 now! I saw posts from domenic15, Nirtew, andinz1970, Quossum, yourself and someone named Pcllw who apparently enjoyed making up his/her own sets then would have a naming contest for that set. It looks like you all had a great deal of fun! I also read your post, and SnappyMcFrog's response, on what to keep in your Catalog. I recommended to WalterCZ, who reached level 17 recently, to Catalog one of each breed of frog except for three. That is what I have in my Catalog but don't really use. To use the Catalog efficiently I guess depends on what you are working on and what you want to accomplish. I'm open to all suggestions! I just reached level 25...we shall see about level 50!
First, you were crazy to start over! Yeah, you have a super gamer name & all that, but it was soooo much WORK (<--le mot juste). Going through the older threads is a lot of fun. It's watching how the forum evolved & who soldiered through. It's amusing to read the stuff we laughed at & shared together (i.e. Paddy story, contests). Shows how people delighted at way lower levels than they are now. Meanwhile, Plus+ has been Minus- for me lately. Seems as if when I want to gift someone, it's magically unreachable tho' I have workable WiFi. Total non-segue -suggestions needed: what do you gift the person who has "everything" (or almost, XP, coins, levels, you name it)? p.s.: Boatloads of thanks for all the lovely froggies to a whole host of people over the last couple of days: Snappy for the Violet Geminus, Red Bulbus, & Violet Bulla, dlstar for the Blue Pingo, Elektra for the Black Geminus, Azure Bulbus, Emerald & Aqua Arbors, & White & Black Viduos, Andi for the 2 Golden Arbors, & Azure Cesti, Dom for the Azure Cesti & Violet Cesti, Nirtew for the Aqua Magus, Maroon & Beige Magus, jklau for the Cocos Bulla, & InBoots for the Cocos Gyrus. p.p.s.: With all these frogs, my gifting may be a bit off. While I am vacationing on a Caribean Island, playing PF, two things very strange happened. The first was when I opened PF, I was told that I located three potions floating on the pond. I was not in the pond at the time. Next, I was asked, "Did you located all the new frogs in the pond?" Did we get an update?
No update & a non-friend got the same message about the three floating potions minus the stuff about the "new frogs." She said she had just opened the game, nothing more. That caused me to check for maybe they were "staggering the updaters" by having messages arrive at different times but there were no updates. Weird. Or, maybe it's like random gifting from on high- kinda fun. BTW, update your energy, enjoy your vacation & send some nice weather to the upper 50. p.s.: Thanks to short for the Pandamonium Set! Will be sending off to some unsuspecting person (after checking habs) before the night is out. Right now the last of the Zebrae are maturing. p.s.: But wait, there's more! Thanks that is. The reason the Zebrae are breeding a bit late is because of other generous gifters whose frogs got to my MB earlier. Oooh, you lucky dog! Must be the down-under thing. Certainly hope it's a *new feature*! Decided to make my Zebrae grow faster because I have a request for a 24 stamp frog (don't ask me how I'm doing with that). More importantly, set is currently wending its way to a forum member. Hope he, at a lower level than I am currently (not a criteria), can use them & pass them on. What's nice about this set is that one can finish it quickly. Still, truth be told, I prefer the ones which garner more stamps (& potions, of course, but no as much "of course"). [Edit: as I was writing this message, I went into PF again & it told me about the 3 floating potions! Power of suggestion...or waiting...guess we'll all get it sooner or later. ] Nice, hopefully, NEW feature.
Me too. Could it be some date-dependent thingy? Weird. And I don't know what to make of the "new frogs" msg; probably just a canned msg, but you never know. Has anyone else gotten these msgs?
Three floating potions I also received the "Three floating potions" prize today. Very cool iAd! I remember many months ago when the iAds in PF contained promo frogs or potions. I agree that this prize may be an indicator that the Devs are still thinking of PF. Perhaps this hints of a small future update??? Have a nice vacation Dom and be sure to watch out for jellyfish. I have Pandamonium ready to pass on if anyone needs it still. I have now finished the Bulla's and am back to Mixtus and Dextera now. I swapped my Anura breeding bases for Lanternas so they'll be a dexing byproduct (so to speak).
