Pocket Frogs Trading Thread

I know! And there have been others, from BuddysWife, and Inkyscribbles, and a few others as well. Maybe Plus never actually loses gift frogs, but the queue can get so long, that things get lost? I really don't know. Some are still useful for my 'dex though, and the rest are a welcome coin boost - around half a million coins worth in a couple of days!

 

I have also noticed re-notification of frogs sent from weeks prior before, but not ones from prior months yet. The problem I have is that when they finally hop out of the cloud queue, my MB is full again!

Since you wrote of Inkyscribbles, have you heard anything from her recently? I realize that the aforementioned gift frogs were appearing from a months long holding pattern in the cloud, but I was wondering if she was doing OK.

I haven't heard a thing. In fact, having random gifts pop up from folks not heard from in ages at first gave me the impression that a few of the previous regulars were back to trading, and I fired off a few gifts in return, before the stream of frogs from Dom and Dean started flooding through, and I realized what must be happening.

At least I know my 'hoard a few, use a few' stamp strategy is working, and I'm clearing the backlog???

Back & forthright

[Apologies for long post to follow. Make some tea, pull up a comfy chair, make yourself comfortable]

Well, like it or not, I’m back & will be *modestly* (meaning slowly –not meaning with a robe over my translucent demi-negligée) trading again – even got a smaller tiny notebook yesterday. Honestly though, I really intended to take a much shorter break but “real life” & all that that entails proved a huge stumbling block. Real life is still there, lurking, so I can make no promises.

Must say, I really loved rediscovering the joy of finding & being able to *keep* frogs/scenery from the pond. Don’t want to lose that spark of excitement again. Plus need a reasonable amount of time with my dearest Free Time. It is notable, to me at least, that I was at mid-Level 29 when I took a break & I’m just at the beginning of Level 30. Proof positive, if any was ever needed, that I am not a dyed-in-the-wool gamer. I’m here for the free camaraderie; they charge lots & lots of coins for that at Starbux [sp?] & don’t even ASK about their charge for potions! Believe it or not, to me the trading is nice but more incidental.

So, with my dearest Free plus the invaluable advice of my “fairness counselor,” I devised some general guidelines for MYSELF to keep this game as magical & fun as when I first began playing. I’ll reciprocate, of course, but this time, if you send one frog, I’ll send one back. If, OTOH, you are so reckless as to send, let’s say, 45 frogs, you’ll STILL receive one in return. If you’re collecting something & I send a frog of that breed, call it serendipitous for, not being a ‘dexer, I’ll always be trading/gifting at random but trying to remain fair (i.e. won’t send back an amazingly adorable Anura for a sickeningly slimy Signum). If I receive a Set/Starter Set from someone on this forum, I’ll pass it on to someone here who trades; what happens in this forum stays in this forum. (BTW, I count anyone who is on my “Friend” list & trades, whether they continue to post or not, as traders – they’re grandfathered/grandmothered in)

In addition, I’ve trimmed my list of Friends to those I’ve actively traded with in the past couple/few months (g’bye Inky, BW, et al [<--you know, I don't even remember Al...]). I will only add one additional “Friend," a name I recognized from the NB Support Site as a Follower months ago. It will be a while before I add anyone else- please understand & respect that. In the end, I know I can’t control what others do but I can modify my environment via my modus operandi to increase my chances of reaching a good balance between my online (virtual & fun) life & my offline (AKA “sometimes too real & demanding”) life.

What I ask of you, fellow frog friends, is simple: moderation. Got a flood of frogs? A color wheel? Cross me off your list. Please understand that I can never be, nor do I aspire to be, a mega-gifter/trader like dean 288367 or a host of others. I genuinely admire & sincerely appreciate people like that but I’m not one of them/you. Don’t have requisite time, patience & inclination. If you want a true trader or avid gamer, I am NOT the one – I use PF solely for relaxation, nothing more.

p.s.: I’d like to give an big thanks to those among you who respected my wishes & didn’t gift me during this time away.

p.p.s.: I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank those who generously gifted me *anyway* receiving nothing, no mention, no little something, nothing in return. And yet they persisted.

I've been playing pocket frogs on and off for a year now, but got more into it since last month. Progress is pretty slow since i'm playing this game alone and don't really trade frogs. Non the less i really enjoy this game and its fun to try and collect frogs.

But anyways i have a question how do you breed glass frogs?
And is +36 happines the maximum for plants and stuff?

Yep, you boosted me a bit, in fact I'm still using one of your gifts to complete one of the colors... Thanks. I sent back some gifts, but only one was Tribus.

 

1. There are certain combinations that will produce glass or chroma. There is no way to predict it though so you just have to stumble across them... There is a wiki somewhere out there that has documented the known breeding pairs that will do it.

But the easiest way is to receive a gift... And once you have them, they breed like any other colors... So I'll send you a glass/chroma to get you started.

2. Yes, 36 is the max for happiness added by a single item. If you fill an environment with +36 stuff the frogs in there will be 100% happy all the time.

Never focussed much on collecting and breeding frogs.
I'm lvl 14 but haven't completed a set. Highest percentage is anura with 10% completion.
So i gues once i collect the money from the higher lvl frogs i've bred when there fully grown.
Ill start breeding those anura's.
