No judgement! I wouldn't even call that cheesy. It's definitely great in that you can walk away for a couple of days (heck, that's great for the mailbox and eggs!) and not get TOO sucked in. Though oddly enough I was thinking tonight, "Wouldn't it be cool to have Tamagotchis on this thing?" Probably not. Anyway, the point I am driving toward (in a wayward fashion) is the main game I played for more years than I'd like to admit had a similar point system and set up. You had your personal goals to hit but there were no winners or losers. You could, however, have more points than someone else, rank higher than someone else. PF has these ingredients and yet the feeling of the players is like night and day. I'm very new to the social aspect of this game (and am only realizing how slow I am with upping the Froggydex!) but I hope there haven't been any bad eggs to ruin it for others in the past. I do see what you mean.
I'm fairly new to the PF community as well even though I've been playing the game since the day it came out. So I am also not aware of any bad eggs here... but I have seen bad eggs ruin several other otherwise civil / nice online communities. The way I got here: Once I had completed all the achievements, I kind of lost interest in PF (the earlier version did not have the Froggydex at all much less the ‘dex achievements). Then when the daily sets came out... I'd log in once a week and work up the latest set, then put it down again. Then one week recently, they threw me for a loop by adding a set of Bulbus frogs... and I'd never even seen that type. So I found this thread searching for how to get them, and of course the nice folks here hooked me up, and I've been contributing ever since. I have also gotten inspired to get all the achievements again... and I'm now 587 frogs away from the final achievement (5000 in Froggydex).
