Oh, I'm sorry. I should have known. 'i' not 'y'.

Oh, and thanks for the Glass Ceres Clunicula, at least the one that's tried to sneak into my mailbox. I am hoping he doesn't have too many brothers and sisters. I'll send him back when I am done with him.

Good morning or evening to you all.
Thanks, Dean288367, Trufsy, Andi and Quossum for the frogs this morning.

You just never know what's going to turn up in your MB, do you Andi?

Maholah, your habitats are very pretty. I really like your nursery, numbers 3,9 I find really appealing, 13 (love your off-center use of the frame).
Took some screenshots for inspiration. Hope you don't mind.

Thank you, Glumbumble! It took awhile to get things as I wanted them--and of course, the frogs sometimes knock things off kilter (apparently). I wanted the habs to look nice and also keep the frogs happy-and for the nursery, I didn't want anything the eggs could slide under. Thanks for noticing. :)

Having kept real-life frogs, I found that at first I made more realistic habs, with plenty of plants to provide hiding spaces. That became too much (trying to find the frogs), so now they're a little cleaner. Also, I cannot use the woven hab backgrounds, or the pretty amethyst--because they would catch/cut real froggy toes! Perhaps I take this a little too seriously...

Many thanks this morning to Glumbumble, Snappy McFrog, Domenic15, Andinz1970 ( I love the much-maligned Nasus!) and Dlstar for the froggy gifts. Very much appreciated! I'll be sending out soon--I need to be working right now! ;-)

    Somewhere else
Hmmm. Gender. An interesting concept on a forum where anonymity is the norm. At first I thought it'd be mainly guys here since, judging from my limited experience, I think of gamers as teenagers & young men for the most part. Then, bit by bit, I felt that there were more & more women here & I thought that maybe it was because they had a greater percentage of free time (more flexible work hours, kid napping, etc.).

Even my preconceptions about age & gaming have changed. I have zero idea if I'm trading with someone young enough to be my child or old enough to be my parent. And, frankly, it doesn't matter.

Wish I had chosen a more clever name, however. Something whimsical like Glumbumble, blended but cryptic like fazstp, lively & à propos like SnappyMcFrog or dangerous-sounding Disastrously.

My name, lisianne, would be great in a cooking forum where its three syllables, as spoken by a Parisian, would be savored like a well-aged Cabernet Sauvignon or a fine Camembert.

And so, mes amis, the recipe for tomorrow will be "Cuisses de grenouilles sautées, à l'ail et au persil." Bring your own frogs. ;)

p.s.: Thanks for the froggie gifts to Quo, Andi, & dlstar (now there's a good gaming name!)

Why do you not check your dex after 1 breeding to see if you got the target frog?

    Tuilelath: Dexing High Level Frogs

I'm at 100% on several high-level frogs -- Veru, Magus, Floresco and Calvaria -- through racing. I bred lower-level frogs, but in between, I raced the higher levels. Each of those four breeds I got into the 90% range strictly through racing & pond gifts (I wasn't on here yet, so no trading). I only bred 15-25 for each level, and that was because the frogs I needed were becoming more and more difficult to come by in the races.

For each level of racing (I did one at a time) I kept a stable of 8-10 racers. I didn't keep my lists, but I did keep the top few racers as coin-makers. For Veru/Magus, my top racers were Marine Viola Veru, Red Carota Veru, White Bruna Veru and Black Albeo Magus (but he didn't do as well as the Verus).

The only Floresco & Calvaria's I saved were Cocos Albeo Floresco and Golden Aurum Calvaria.

You'll want to check stats, but also keep records. Some of my best racers weren't the highest in stats, and I kept records of dozens, possibly over a hundred races.

This method won't help with the "special" frogs you can't get in races, but it might help you with some of the others.

    Hope that helps!

Takes too long. Though once I get towards the end of the breed, and on days when I'm more relaxed and have plenty of time, sometimes I do. I always use the dex-check method when I'm getting my breeders together or making set or request frogs. But most of the time I'm in no hurry.

Plus, I kind of enjoy the surprise of checking out those newly hatched eggs and seeing what I get! :p

Lisi, I like your frog recipe humor :)
And on another topic, J'aime Camembert!

Thanks to dean and Nirtew for Calvarias, Tulielath for Veru and Pingo, Quo for the Verus and Stellata, Maholah for Verus, Andi for the Nasus frogs, miawillow for a Pingo, Maholah for a Veru, and danjarus for a Sol! Thanks also to dlstar for the Bulla and Veru!

A good evening to all :),

Fair enough. Since most of the time I sell the eggs I have to look to see which one it is. Plus the fact that I couldn't stand the outcome where I waited for the hatchlings and none of the 4 are new so now I have to go back and do it all again. It's only a 6% chance, but 4 misses in a row happen. [mild explative], 8 and 12 misses in a row have happened to me.

Oh, yeah, that happens. But my pace is much more leisurely and I don't mind trying again.

Now, if the desired frog doesn't appear on the second breeding, I do get annoyed, and then I do the "breed two or three times, check dex" method, not stopping until the target frog appears. Then I can move on!

Thanks for the frogs, everyone! I'm still trying to keep ahead of you guys, despite this week's busy-ness.

Ugh, guys, been at the airport two hours away all day til 10 pm trying to pick up jobberknoll's sister. Delay after delay which, of course, didn't happen until after we had to leave to get there.

I have a ton of frogs to mail out, but it will have to wait til tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who sent frogs, will thank you all properly on the morrow.

    Good Morning!

    Three things ...

First, many thanks to Andinz1970, Dlstar, Domenic15, Danjanus and Snappy McFrog for all the froggy gifts. Very much appreciated! (And Snappy, your name always makes me smile when it pops up!)

Second, I'm ready to start breeding the Cocos, as I want to finish out those first 14 species. So, I need to clean out some habs. If anyone wants anything currently in my habs 8-16, please let me know, preferably today. I plan to send out some gifts this morning, but there will still be plenty left in there.

Third, what does it mean when someone's following you? Inquiring minds want to know!

    Thanks!

If someone is "following you" it means that they have added you to their friends list. If they keep you as a friend, when you go into plus+ you will see a little circle with a number in it showing how many new followers you have by the friends button. They will stay a "follower" until 1) you friend them or 2) they unfriend you.

If the're still available I'd like the Beige Viola and Pruni Bulbuses, please.
What's the breed of Cocos that you're starting to breed?
