In case you are curious about our strange Plus IDs: The Glumbumble is a magical furry insect. It produces a fluid that causes melancholy. This fluid is used as an antidote for the hysteria that results from eating Alihotsy leaves. Glumbumbles eat nettles. The Jobberknoll is a tiny blue speckled bird that makes no sound until the moment of its death, when it lets out a long scream consisting of all the sounds it has ever heard; their feathers are important ingredients in making potions that affect memory.
Big congratulations dean. 100% dex, level 55, 210 odd millions of XP. Great accomplishment. It was super working with you on the Signums. Glad you'll still be around to help everyone.
LOL. Mine isn't that interesting. Just an old acronym abbreviated from my wife's name and mine. I'm the stp = Stephen.
Duh! Maybe they should teach us to read where I come from, "Somewhere else" ! Mes excuses. I wrote a PM with suggestions.
I'll reach out to you all as a group, since there are so many with so many hours logged playing PF: Your advice for a new player? What worked best for you? What did you concentrate on doing first? Achievements vs Dex One breed at a time or scattershot breeding to build up levels and coins? What do you keep in ypur habitats esp. early in the game? Anything you can think of, your experience playing. I only have my unique way of playing, I am really interested in hearing from others. I have lurked in your habitats to try to figure out your playing methods but haven't really been able to tell what your methods are. Jobberknoll is interested, too.
Thanks to those who sent me nice frogs over the past couple of days: Dom, Lisi, Nirtew, Andi, Dean and thanks also to Quossum, dentonmatthew, Glumbumble fazstp, and Schultzi85 for frogs sent! Thanks also to anyone else I may have forgotten. I am working on the current Ludo set. A good evening to all!
Congratulations...again Dean. I congratulated you when you first achieved 100% before the major update. I have completed the following Sol colors and have these available: 9 Azure 15 Black 13 Beige 7 Golden Please let me know who wants any or all of them.
Fazstp, sent you the Ludo set lisianne sent me. Pass it on, hopefully to a new member who is actively participating in this forum.
You do now that I just sent them to you LOL. BTW I still have 2 sets left. Edit all frogs for this weeks set are gone. Here are the lucky recepients: Dominic15 Snappymcfrog Raeswitchfoot Glumbumble Nirtew Lisanne Quossoum Dlstar Fazstp
Your advice for a new player? Buy the baby proofing kit! Best investment ever! Express mailbox is very handy, too. 'Dex Anuras first thing; it will help you so much with everything. What did you concentrate on doing first? I started playing this game within a month or two of its inception, and at first, I just played and played, hopping around the pond, thrilled with each new breed I encountered, looking longingly at those outrageously expensive items in the shop that only high-level players could buy. I didn't even notice that there were achievements for some time. It was really only when I started hitting those breeds that couldn't be easily matured by hopping in the pond that I slowed down and started exploring. Then my sister and I buckled down and tackled the achievements with a vengeance. Achievements vs Dex By the time the Froggydex was introduced, I already had all but maybe the last two achievements (still don't have 5000). Were I starting today, I still think I would have gone for the achievements first. More fun. One breed at a time or scattershot breeding to build up levels and coins? One breed at a time. I tried another method and it was insanity. I'm too anal to concentrate on more than one at a time! What do you keep in ypur habitats esp. early in the game? It's hard to recall those days when coins actually mattered, but I think for a while I was trying to keep one of each breed so I wouldn't have to keep buying them from my catalog. I focused a lot on getting all habitats to 100% happiness, too. Anything you can think of, your experience playing. If I had to do it all over again I think I would have organized my catalog a bit differently. At first I just cataloged any frog I thought was pretty--that thing was full in no time! I like that everyone can enjoy this game in their own way. I'm orderly and really get a kick out of 'dexing now (in my own way, raising frogs to maturity, taking my time), but whether it's the social aspects of the game, landscaping the habitats, or just enjoying the pretty frogs and the relaxing sounds of hopping in the pond, this game appeals for many reasons. My thank-yous tonight are another amazing lineup: Snappy, gnscolunga, darthPod, Trufsy, BellaCoconut (yay!), andinz1970, dlstar, lisi, Nirtew...all of you guys are awesome! My MB is in a constant state of 8/8. Happy hopping, everyone! --Q
Really? When I first saw the Nasus I thought they were pretty. My vote for ugly froggies has got to go to either Velatus, Crustali or Marmorea, especially in a green/cafea combo. Looks like scum on a pond. Ugh. I cringed working on Lanertna. Could NOT get that one over with fast enough. I really like the pattern design on Ludo, Vinaceus and Pingo.
Ah, I'm on an iPT so I do not have internet connectivity all the time As always, your surprise gifts and quick responses to requests are always appreciated. Always let me know if you need a Glass Chroma, or any frog for that matter. I can concentrate my efforts on making a specific frog or two at any given time, but making 7 unique frogs like this week's set requires will simply take too long while I try to get 100% in Dexteras Anyway, one last thanks to you!
Thanks. To be honest I cheated on this week's set. After all the trouble I had getting a Bulbus last week I couldn't be bothered breeding so I cloned the set out of my Froggydex just to get it done and cash it in for the stamps and potions.
Second that. I have both, as does jobberknoll. i did all the achievements first. Not sure what jobberknoll is oing to do. Mostly asked these questions for her, but I am only about 50% done, so I will take suggestions, too. I have changed gameplay styles about a dozen times. same here, had them all by the time the dex was added. i hear ya! Usually very anal and obsessively orderly but I get tired of mowing through one breed after another. For a while I had one copy of each breed I had not completed in habitats, and I would randomly hop until I found a frog to breed with that was a different breed. I'd check to see if the pairing resulted in a new frog (if the main Dex count went up by 1), then throw the egg in a habitat. When they hatched I'd have the fun of seeing what I got. Lots of mystery frogs. That was fun for a long time, not efficient, but fun. Got lots of presents that way. Now I am trying a different tack, one low level frog and one high level, working on both at the same time. This is driving jobberknoll nuts. What to keep, what to sell, esp. when all the coins are going to buy habitats. I did the same thing! Wanted to keep them ALL! Jobberknoll is keeping one of each breed, in order. I have one of each also but they are all scrambled up, which bugs me to no end but I'm not gonna fix it. Well, maybe I will...sometime... Love the zen-like atmosphere. I spend hours rearranging the habitats. #And it's all so pretty and colorful. Thanks so much for your insight. I hope some others respond, I am sure there are some great ideas out there that some of us haven't considered.
I keep one of each variety plus a rainbow of the current breed that I'm Froggydexing. Usually for the sets I will just clone the colour needed in an Anura and then cross that with the required variety. If I am in a hurry I will check the value in the Froggydex and sell the egg if it's not the right variety or colour and try again otherwise I will let them grow and sell when mature. I worked through most of the achievements before they added the Froggydex too. Then with the Froggydex I worked on the Froggydexter achievements by breeding and selling the eggs as I worked through the cheapest frogs. Once I had all the achievements I slowed it down and started building up some cash by Froggydexing the Verus and selling them when fully grown. Now that they doubled the number of habitats I might reorganise my base set but I haven't decided which way to go yet. With my Froggydexing I go through in order crossing the base colour with each secondary colour. Crossing two of the same breed you have four possible frogs so I breed two of each colour I am trying for. ie. I will cross the base colour frog with Tingo x2, Carota x2, Aurum x2, Folium x2 to get eight eggs. Once they hatch I move them out of the nursery, sell the last batch that has matured and check the Froggydex to see which colours to breed next. I figure that way I have a 50% chance on each colour I'm breeding for and I can work through them quicker if I'm lucky.
