Because I just made you my friend, you missed me.
    my numbers are 28659 / 362288 = 7.91%.
    and Cygnet7's numbers are 20,437 / 237,437 = 8.60%.
I follow your theory. Since presents are placed randomly, one direction is as good as another. So I hop "North" continuously, since that yields my best hops/minute. You are correct that everyone going for every fly and present is not a safe assumption. I go after solely presents. the flies I catch are incidental. So yes, I'm passing up flies. Hence that large percentage; I'm not catching many flies per present. I don't know what Cygnet7's technique is, but I suspect it's similar to mine.

I've run numbers on presents per hop, which I think is a more accurate measure of my present gathering effectiveness. After about 120,000 hops, I get 1 level 16 frog for every 720 hops, 1 stamp for every 73 hops, and 1 potion for every 81 hops. The stamps and potions of course coming in bunches.

I forgot that I ran numbers on my top 10 neighbors and me for fly catching (the top 10 for pond presents was - perhaps surprisingly, almost the same - 1 difference)
The results were highest percentage, 8.6%, lowest 1.29%, median, 2.60%.

Thanks for the offer Nirtew, but I think it is Dom that is doing Sols.

Before I forget, I have a Pink Albeo, Orange Albeo and White Aurum Bulbus. Do you need of these?

I tend to hop straight down and to the right every third hop or so. I tend to also find presents when I randomly double back but that may just be coincidence. I wish you could zoom out a bit so you could see more of the surrounding lily pads.

You're absolutely right, I meant Dom. Sorry.
I would love the Orange and Pink. TIA. Also thanks for the Obaros. As long as I have you here, anything you're interested in?

Thanks for the offer, normally I would not ask but I forgot to catalog some of the new frogs when I had them and I hate to clone them at 10X the value.
If you have a geminus, bulla, orbis, persona or vinaceus it would be greatly appreciated. Just need to send only one of them IF you have them handy otherwise don't worry about it. Don't need them unless they show up in a weekly set.

I concur, just did a little experiment with one-directional hopping. In 30 minutes of northbound hopping, moving in a straight line as much as possible for about 50 pads, then moving right 3 pads and repeating, I obtained:
    38 stamps
    39 potions
5 verus (none of which I needed of course and no room in MB)
    4 level 111/12/13/14 frogs
Countless (at least 10 habitat items/backgrounds)

I used to only hop in one direction like this, then I treid the "follow the frog's nose" theory (which is a recipe for madness), the Four Corners approach(diagonal hopping into a corner) and just random hitting every pad.

Hopping in one direction is easier, and I offer one more hypothesis: the lucky pond, which is what I think I had on the reults above. (My frog is still sitting in it). I think you get good ponds and dud ponds.

(oh, and the stats you found, Dean, I've only been on Plus for a month. Wonder what they would have been from day one!)

Now, does anyone think closing the game down completely and restarting resets everything?

Sorry for any typos, typing on an ipad is a pain.

If you would happen to have a geminus, bulla, orbis, persona OR vinaceus handy I could use one so that I can catalog it. I forgot to do it when I had them. If not available, don't worry about it.

How do you do this? Doesn't your game back up on Plus?

I wonder the same myself sometimes. I did not join Plus until I was a level 16 with about 5,000 frogs .I missed the glacio and at that time you could not buy promotional frogs in the frogmart, that is what got me started on this thread.

When I got my new iphone a month ago I actually thought about starting a new game, I play PF on my ipod. I wonder how much faster I could go with a express mailbox, nursery proof and 16 habitats. But then I came to my senses.
