Yeah, he/she said they were running XP so I gave them that path. You sure are right that "plus+ isn't actively being developed anymore" is a big issue. PF would be a very different game without plus+; no gifting, no cloud backup, etc. And it doesn't sound like the Marshs are thinking about hooking up to an alternative. We can just hope that the powers that be keep the plus+ servers going, even if they're not sinking any more money in it.
Thanks to both you and nirtew -- I do have the most current version, but definitely want to save the file just in case (and pray I never need to use it), because I'm paranoid like that. (And doubly so after reading the comments about plus+!) I commented on that thread. I hope they do directly address our concerns, because to be honest, I've put a lot of money into PF (relatively -- a lot of money, for a game) and if the developers just shrug and say 'oh, sorry, that's the tradeoff for blah blah' when there's no way to restore a game... I'd find that unacceptable.
