Lisianne, you're the greatest. I'm glad to be here. I don't know about everyone else, but I get more excited to see a "NEW" Velatus than any, say, Insero, since I've already 'dexed that breed. So reciprocate the kindness with whatever hopper you have on hand! Personally, I don't mind if people I gift to just pay it forward, but I always want to give at least a little something back to those who have helped me, so I understand wanting to give back something they need. =} --Q
Thanks Lisi, for the fantastic frogs you've sent this summer and your insightful posts! Keep up the good work! Hope you have an excellent weekend. Sent you a Maroon Aurum Bulbus, enjoy. Thanks to Jessye who sent me Inseros and Quossum, Dom, Nirtew and anyone else who sent gifts recently! Thank you,
Question How is it possible to be at level 10, say, & have hatchlings above that level, even level 16? There is a way to send a breed of any level to a lower level person but not before it's fully grown & tamed. Once received, it cannot be bred until the person reaches the appropriate level. Or so I thought. Has something changed? p.s.: Thanks to Quo & Snappy for the kind words - they made my frog-day. p.p.s.: Big thanks to Quo, Snappy, Nirtew, Andi, & Dom for the new froggies which are happily residing in my MB.
What's your Plus name? I've got a frog ready for you. Got up today and sat outside on the swing for several hours of the most glorious morning we've had here for a while. Warm, but not stifling; a breeze blowing; hummingbirds darting in the trees and squirrels scampering about. Great day to be alive. Finally went inside to play with the froglets and welcomed a few lovely gifts into my pond--thank you, Nirtew, darthPod, and lisianne (hope I didn't miss anyone there...). Sent a few full-grown Sols off to their new homes. I am three color combos from completing that breed. So, I got ready to breed a couple more of my Magus breeders. Do you know, it took *16 breedings* to get a Beige Bruna...and *three* to get the Cocos Cafea??? Infuriating little froglets! Happy hopping, everyone! --Q
Unless something has changed in an update somewhere....Jailbroke phone and / or cheating? I remember in the early days spying on folks that had eggs in the NON-nursery habitats, and this was well before the update that let one purchase the babyproofing kit. One such person had asked for several particular frogs, and I had sent them, then I saw this instance of cheating when I visited. I never gave that person anything else. I guess they *could* have been a beta tester...but then why go on forums and ask for frogs? I also saw habitats with many more than 8 frogs in them, peeps with billions of coins, that sort of thing. All cheating. I remember being horrified when I heard about the well-known minor cheat of maturing frogs quickly by changing the time settings on one's device. Really? You'd even *want* to cheat a sweet little non-competitive game like this? People leave me thoroughly bemused at times. --Q
I agree Quo. Time-traveling frogs would only be good in a Sci-Fi B movie! I only play in normal time and would not subject the froggies to "temporal paradoxes." Besides, I read reports online that tampering with time can break the game when updating (and also the Time Police may come a knockin' at your door). Better to be safe and leave time-traveling to the science fiction writers! Thanks to Dom for the Lanterna and Nirtew for the Signum and anyone else who sent me gifts recently. Happy frogging!
And what stunning movies they could be! The likes of Back to the Tadpole, Frogpond Day, and Froginator ("I'll hop back!") would surely be appreciated (but hopefully never emulated) by thousands (well, hundreds. Okay, dozens) of Pocket Frogs fans! --Q
Don't think it can be done with "time travel" for how would one get to a much higher level &, if so, why not remain there?! Must be jailbreaking (which I know nothing at all about & frankly don't care). If it was indeed possible with the newest PF update, legally, I'd continue trading with this person - as it is, will no longer do so. It's an easy enough game after all, so why cheat the small stuff? A relationship not built on truth is one which will not withstand the challenges of time. FWIW, your "time traveling frog movies" got quite a laugh out of me, Quo! Now that I can visit habs again, I've fallen in love with some of Giroth's decorating schemes. Hope it isn't illegal to copy (not exactly, but close) when the scenery presents itself. Also looking for good scenery for a red rust background. Suggestions anyone? p.s.: Since the last time, major thanks to Shasta, Nirtew, & Snappy. You guys always have, not just my back, but my frogs.
I love frog-stalking folks and spying on their habitats. I tend to be a bit obsessive with the interior decorating myself. Right now most of my habs are what I consider "finished," but I do have a couple that I change around, try out different backgrounds. Right now I'm quite annoyed that the picture frame I keep painstakingly lining up to match the lines on the tile keeps shifting each time I return to the habitat. Might have to change the background on that one, as I can't take the disorder! Lisi, you have some very artistic backgrounds. I love your tile / bronze star / driftwood hab, and the one with the clumps of purple lilies. I tend to overdo the green a bit, so it's fun to see someone who's more adventurous with the colors. Shasta, you also have some pretty things going on in your habs. I also like trying to figure out others' strategy or what they're working on when I visit. Sometimes...I have NO idea! Happy hopping, all! Time to go tame and raise some frogs, and then I'm out for the night. --Q Edited to add: red rust background...how about several gold bows? The metallic look might contrast nicely. Along with some amber or yellow stones?
Snappy & others - I love you guys, but please don't send me too many gift frogs! I feel bad taking them away from others, because between my catalog & my 'keepers' habitats, I can make any frog I really need. Thanks, though, and if you need a frog at any point, let me know! <3 I know, right? I've asked a few times if we can get a 'save habitat now' button to KEEP scenery items where we put them, because it's so damned frustrating to arrange everything exactly the way you want it and then come back to find out a rock is sitting on top of a flower you specifically put on top of it! It can't be THAT hard to program...
Whoo-hoo! I guess you could say that I am now a Sol Survivor, as I finally finished 'dexing the breed! As a celebration gift, I have sent everyone a Sol. This is totally a "thanks for being a frog-friend" gift and does not have to be reciprocated at all. Just, thanks, everyone, for the kindness and generosity you've shown. I started Sols 8-14-11, at 44.84%. (I had used them in an abandoned breeding strategy previously, so their percentage was up.) I finished them today, 9-4-11, and mind you, that's with raising every frog to maturity along the way, with virtually no nudges from potions (only rarely if a room's timing gets off or similar circumstances). Now, to get my Magus breeder rooms all set up and pretty, the way I like them. Ah, happy day! --Q
Lots of creative ideas out there. Was checking yesterday to see who might not yet have received the Weekly Set since no one I wrote replied to my "Do you need Weekly Set?" PM. Still have 3 breeding pairs available & will mail out to those I *think* may not have received any in spite of short's or Dom's largesse if not requested here within two hours. Back to interior decorating, I just wish the scenery were "on demand" so I could decorate all at once. Have trouble with backgrounds I like (gold-threaded [might replace], brick [will replace]) & rust [gotta keep, love it] & can't get some of the others right. Vastly prefer natural scenery vs. artificial tho' I do make exceptions for things with high value of happiness except ones I never can make work like the Frog Idol, Jewel Flower, Talisman, Frame, & Bows. Am a sucker for Flowers & probably have more of the Giant Pink Flower, Purple Lilies, Passion Flowers, Chinese Asters, etc. than anyone else here. When the tiny Purple Star Flowers (32 pts.) are offered again, I will redecorate one of my habs like the nursery a la Giroth / Disastrously. Plus love his/her #8 hab as well as the #13 cracked earth (that one is elegant for the way things just blend in). p.s.: Thanks for all the gifts from Nirtew, oger (Weekly Set pair - this forum & its lurkers are fantastic, really), Quo, & short. MB & heart full for the moment. p.p.s.: Congrats, Quo, on your recent accomplishment. Sol long for now...
Oh, me, too, totally! There are certain items that I love, but they're such low happiness that the rest of the habitat has to be built around it. My Fallen Leaves habitat, for example...I wanted it to be all kinds of leaves, but the only *really* high leaf is the Giant Dew Leaf, which I've overused and so only wanted one of in there. I love heart-shaped leaf and maple leaf and red maple leaf...but to use those (and keep the room at 100% happiness), I "had" to include a couple of high-happiness flowers, too. Just couldn't include some of the other pretty leaves I like, and as it is, the frogs only stay 100% happy if the room is full. I had to use the Frog Idol with the Mayan background, and a few of the the other artificial items I have in my "desktop" room with the Old Papers background. I'm really proud of my desert-like Cracked Earth room. And I discovered when trying to put together my Rainbow Room nursery that there aren't really any good BLUE items. I had to use that muddy purple stone to represent blue. Hope we get more items in some future update someday. --Q
Congrats, Quo on finishing the Sols! I prefer to use mostly natural scenery items as well, though there are a few odds and ends thrown in. The purple star flower looks like a Helleborus (Lenten rose) flower to me. Moreover, the dew leaf appears to be a Lady's Mantle leaf. On another note, last night, I reached level 23 with a Trivium mating! Love the bonuses for leveling up. Thanks for the Sol frog, Quo. And thank you to Lisi for the Pingo, and Nirtew, Dom and Schulzi for recent frog gifts!
That's a good idea. Same thing happens to me with a leaf over a flower. I tried moving them to different places but once i left the habitat and came back they moved. So no matter what u do will it always be like that with those two objects?
I would like a Dextera of any kind please. Thanks! (I apologize, I can't give you any frogs in return - I am trying to make a collection of promotional frogs and so I cant give you any of them) Plus+ Id is "Keshekki" as you might have guessed.
If you can't get what you need, keep watching the store. The Dextera does come up in the Frog Shop every once in a while, and you can buy one without having any obligation to anyone. --Q
I'm so sorry - I just finished 'dexing the Dextera and got rid of all of the ones I had. But I think I still have one in my catalog -- do you still need it?
