This means that if you're working on a set & a new set is announced tonight at midnight, you can either finish the one you're working on or skip to the new one for the previous one will appear after the most current set is done. I've done it & it works. I've gifted most of the recent & many of the past sets, some via PM & some in this forum. If you're at the right level, you can as well. Thank you the set. I appreciate you sending me the complete set but actually I was looking for any one froglet so I can breed and get xp on the way, just like you mentioned. I did not have any ligo in my dex to clone from and couldn't get in the pond and hence the request. Again, thanks much
Got a few more gifties today...let's just say I hope you people like Sols! Magus is my next breed so you might get one of those tossed in, too. When I first started 'dexing, I was using a really inefficient method which involved an Anura of a particular color, then about five different breeds, getting each of them to match that Anura. I thought working five breeds at a time would make it more interesting. Instead, it was froggy chaos. Froglets at all stages of maturity, scattered hither and yon. Now, I'm 'dexing one breed at a time, gathering a stable of breeders and then mating them systematically until I complete a breed. I am very anal, and yes, I have Excel charts in hand! My sister (itzmeigh; she doesn't visit the forums) and I both have "Frog Books" holding these charts. I realize one doesn't *have* to grow the frogs to maturity, but my preference is to do so; I sell no frog before its time, and that includes 100% happiness, too, so I'm obsessive about my habitats as well. I enjoy maximizing profits, and right now I have over 12 million coins. I may never be a millionaire in real life, but in the frog pond, I'm Trump-esque! With the blessing of getting all these fifteen habitats, I've got a smoothly-running frog machine for what I call the "two-day" breeds, which are my favorite kind. (The pace of the faster maturing frogs can be a bit frenetic, and I can't keep myself from keeping up with them when I'm breeding them: I finished Zebrae in three days, yes, growing every frog to maturity and 100% happiness.) In the morning, sell three habitats of mature frogs, put eggs in three habitats. In the evening, same thing. And so on. This way I really only play with my frogs for a while in the evening and in the morning, and that suits me, especially with my job right now. I breed the frogs in orderly fashion, from top to bottom of the chart, and when I put two frogs together I'll breed them four times to increase my chances of getting the two target frogs; naturally some pairs just won't produce what I need and I have to repeat them. It's a little annoying when a target breeding produces a random Chroma or Glass, because then I have to come up with another frog to get my target. Usually I can use one of the extras. For weekly sets and requests, I'll give up a habitat or two for raising those. I enjoy the challenge of breeding the target frogs (haven't missed a set since the beginning), though now I only accept requests when the prize is stamps or potions. I try to keep any Anuras produced as by-products in my nursery (otherwise kept empty for storage or whatever) so that I can sell them off when they get happy, keeping my 'dexing habitats from getting all wonky. Sometimes it can't be avoided, though, which drives me crazy until I sell them off. It must be three habitats at a time. Three! My method isn't huge on speed; it maximizes profit instead, plus I enjoy watching the frogs grow. That's just the way I roll. Er, hop. A pleasure talking frogs! --Q

uhh nope can't blame me. they go to your place then you get to play frother. at my pond, no liquor cabinet, stashes of funny green or brown leaves or silicon slide for pranking pads allowed. i'm known as the frogstopo for curfew at 9pm for all froglets and no intermixing with tadpoles or eggs. so either you have tipped on too many jello shots or maybe paddy is haunting your nursery. remember once they leave my pond i have a signed release of all responsibility and it's froigned with web stamp of approval. okay, i'm exhausted and a headache that refuses to go away is bothering the heck out of me so not even going to look at pond till tomorrow. safe hopping froglets, shasta
Ok, that is just scary. Kinda like reading your own obituary in the paper, or something! Guys, I know I have been really quiet of late, and that gifting has slowed to a trickle, but I am still around, still playing PF, and normal programming will resume in the very near future. There have been a bunch of factors contributing to my slowdown, in RL and also with a certain other NimbleBit offering sucking up a fair portion of my free time, but the obsession with frogs is as strong as ever. In fact, my dex has crept past the true 50% mark this week, though I am behind with sets, almost finished Cigars and Greenbacks. Suffering from the plus issues is also a problem. Hope that's resolved soon! I need to pass on my thanks to everyone who's been gifting me recently including (but definitely not limited to) Shasta, Lisianne, Dom, Dean, Pbacchi, Moosang, BuddysWife and Sabnetang. My habs are full of frogs that need taming, and I will send them off to new homes ASAP. I aten't dead yet... PS, in answer to your question, maybe folks are treating this like a trading thread because it's called the Pocket Frogs Trading Thread? Just a thought...
Poorly written part of message on my part. I should have reversed wording & wondered aloud if this was perceived as a "Giveaway Thread," rather than a "Trading Thread." I'm concerned that this is seen as a "drop-in & get something" place rather than a "drop-in, make yourself at home, be part of the community" thread. Nothing gets to me so much as perceived unfairness, it's like a severe allergic response. Eventually, I either have to distance myself from the allergen (leave thread temporarily [as I have before] or permanently) or scratch (post about my feelings, which I really prefer not to do). I'm weirdly wired so that the arrow of my fairness compass is stuck at due North & will not budge - it's been a problem for me in many situations over the years. But hey, Andi, you're not dead & gone. Sorry for making assumptions. So happy I'm dead wrong. Quo, your detailed description of your frog-breeding strategy & its evolution is fascinating. It's the polar opposite of mine which is no strategy or plan & no aspirations 'dex-wise. Fortunately we can both love the game although we have totally different goals. And, au contraire, Shasta, YOU are responsible for froggies you send! Sign all the release forms, NDA, NBA forms, whatever but by the time they get to my MB, those froggies have, to put it politely, "issues." Their wanton ways would be totally unacceptable where I live, home of the "Pocket Frog Temperance, Anti-Drug, Anti-Smoking Union:" "Somewhere else." On a happier note, my "Most Beautiful Frog" entry, Black Chroma Sol, won a contest! Further, never before has one frog been the ONLY frog in a set but beauty shares the stage with no one. Sadly, though, after keeping that frog for more months than I can count, gifting (but only after duplicating), I eventually gifted permanently without breeding. Happily, short sent me a couple for this week's set & I can bask in their beauty again. p.s.: Thanks of course to short for the Set frog breeders (& my long lost love). Thanks also to Shasta & Snappy for some great frogs I didn't have.
EDIT: Don't need this week's set anymore. It's just one type of frog so I think I can handle that without getting too behind and catching up on previous sets.

Is there some way to see the dex of friends? I would like to send out the frogs I don't need and would be more appropriate sending out a frog that the person does not have in their dex.
So tamed all 16 habitats! Sent out all current gyrus. Umm, Dom, I don't know how you do it. Imso sick of gyrus I could call a bait shop! Omg. I took a glass of coke, the fizzy kind, and decided just to send them all out to them list. Ha! I'm still a little worried their might be a long que of them waiting to get in as shorty is sending them too! Really? I still have lots of forgets begging for relocation which will occur later tonight. Oh can someone send me a obus and vineaous and umm can't remember but I stupidly forgot to catalog the new froglets when I emptied out my habitats. So I have the obravo, bulla,gyrus, signma, & bulbus. I'm missing the rest. No rush just if you get one that needs a time out. I've added all the followers that have gifted recently so if I missed you just send something and I'll get to it sooner than later. Unless of course your avatar is problematic. I wrote a post about helping peeps if they want it create an avatar of one of the froglets or something family friendly but iPod reboot. So the offers there just pm me. Call me weird but I can't handle looking at something that looks like I should call the orkin man or find a big shoe. Thanks Thanks snappy and ashpup a.k.a. Shasta for the froggies. I dont really need frogies or scenery right now, but i dispair at convincing generous people of that. And this board is FULL of generous people. I'll just have to grin and bear it.. I'll send you the new frogs as they mature shasta. I got cedar fever once about 10 or 15 years ago. Hit all at once. Felt like I had taken a bath in fiberglass, including my eyes, throat, and sinus. Wanted to scratch my skin off. Took some benadrill and some o.t.c allergy severe cold pills. Took about 2 hours to go away. Am now scared to travel north during cedar season. Cant imagine what i would do if I had to put up with it for any longer. Cant think of much that I wouldnt do to make it go away. Run through a crowded mall stark nekked cept for pink socks and a 2 foot green mohawk? Easily, and twice on saturday. I live my life sleep depped to on extent or another. I got slow sleep insomnia coupled with premature waking, double wammy, so I really feel for you shasta. Hope it getts better for you soon. If frogies help, you will be getting mine startind in about 24 hours or so. If they dont, you will still be getting them My pad wont let me use spell checker, so please excuse my bad spelling.
