Graphics really make this one stand out - nice job! My main concern would be it getting old quickly, but that could be minimized through customization, unlocking new parts/abilities/backgrounds, etc.
Hopefully you and everyone else that asked *Cough* Including me who asked first on the third page *Cough* gets to test (if there is one).
I want to make the game feel fresh as long as possible. I can't go into specific detail right now - but we will have the free updates and there are features I haven't told you about yet Regarding the beta: I have gotten much constructive feedback from this board (thanks ) and there are many of you I would like to be testers - I'll remember your names . However we haven't even begun planning the beta yet, so asking for beta spots is a bit premature
it's a great idea and very well done and good work in the GFX. I also hope the animations will be great than graphics. Much times a game have great sound, GFX,etc... but a robotic animations. The game aslo Remember me the "Eye pet" of PSN.
I like the graphcs and attention to detail, especially the little things that people may not even notice! It would be nice to have cute noises coming from the creature so girlfriends/kids will like it.
Good point, we are aiming to have a unique creature sound effects "attached" to each animation - making the interaction more rewarding for girlfriends, kids AND guys
Wow looks like it will be a really interesting game. I need to check this out when it's released, the graphics look really nice. I'm female and I have my OWN iPod haha, along with many others. I don't appreciate being in the same category as kids . Not that I have anything against kids...
"iCreatures" isn't directly based on Black & White. Some of the features are similar, but the context is very different, just wait and see
My one piece of advice would be to keep options open. Not only YOUR options (as developers), but the options of the players. Lots of good ideas have been mentioned in this thread (I really like the aging one!), but if all of them are irrevocably implemented, I feel the game could turn some people away. One of the worst things to have happen to a game (in my opinion) is when some small thing that bothers or presents a difficulty to the player is permanently placed in the game. A game I think handles this challenge well is PG. I'm not here to love or hate Pocket God, I'm just using it to make a point. Everything they added was an option. If you want to, you can go back and play the game as it was when they originally brought it to the app store, V1.00. I don't think the menu for this capability needs to be as prominent, but a small icon to access various options (like 'turn aging off') would be really, really good for players who enjoy having control over their games. Nothing bothers me more than a game that is made unplayable for me because, although it's a great game, it has something that frustrates me and I can't turn it off. Giving players as much choice as possible can only be a good thing, and I think allowing players to tweak their games to their own personal preferences and benefits would be a great way to add accessibility and the ability to play they game the way the player wants to play it. Just my opinion, but I believe it is shared. Thanks for reading, Drkmaster
Doing a little bookmark housekeeping and realized that news on this fabulous looking concept has gone very quiet... Any news?
We are hard at work on the game and have just hired an additional programmer to speed up the development I will post more news as soon as the rest of the team lets me There is also the blog and my twitter which are linked below Regarding DrkMaster666 - I hear you I have already had discussions with the rest of the team about being able to turn of specific features, but since those features aren't even implemented yet I cannot say how it will work
any new info on this app? the blog hasn't been updated in a while, i'm just interested in any new developments.
Hi, I have just updated the blog http://tactileent.blogspot.com The post discusses the critters in the game and their abilities. The idea behind critters is to let them serve as tools for the player and the creature. So far we have come up with two critters; the sleepy "Anteater" that works as a vacuum cleaner and the hyperactive "Woodpecker" that can be used to break stuff, sting the creature, and in general make a lot of noise. What kind of critters do you guys think we should add and what should they be doing?
what a great idea! if you look at your anteater, see his stripes, you should be able to make him curl into a ball so you can play catch with your creature! perhaps for the sake of irony you could have a kitten or a puppy, so your pet can have a pet!
