The one thing about the gold ships is that they have a higher max level. I wish there was more discussion about this game bc it really is pretty good.
My strategy, which has allowed me to blow through the first two regions so far is to use the T47 Hybrid Carrier. In theory, having guns facing every direction is great, in practise, it means that generally at most you are firing one gun at a time and without auto-fire it is difficult to be attacking multiple targets or targets off screen. The T47 has all 3 guns on one side, meaning all you have to do is circle your target and you are laying 100% of your firepower into it. The fact that it also has two fighter stations is just icing on the cake and means this fairly early ship has more damage potential that even most of the late game ships. It is slow, but you start off with Veronica who boosts speed, and really with enough fire power you only have to make a dramatic maneuver occasionally. For techmods, I use double shields. I still haven't found a techmod as good as shields, they offer more "health" that repair modules and timed right can cancel out big shots from bosses. Every 4 levels or so I upgrade the ship, and thus far have had little difficulty with any encounters. This allows me to put anti-matter into buying more forge tabs, which in turn I use to constantly generate new shields, weapons, and fighters.
Great tips! I was looking at the carrier as my next ship. How do you add forge tabs? I swear I saw it once but for the life of me I can't find it now. On a side note, it seems that ship upgrade costs depend on your level and not ship level which is stupid if I'm correct.
I am facing the gold ship dilemma as well. I have reached 3rd boss in the 3rd galaxy, polaris. Still using the first ship you get. Strategy and weapon load out is what lets me survive. I must say I have seen my fighter and bomber squadrons, both epic and size 5, devastate as I just ran and hid. Taking that into account I would imagine having fighters who are legendary may have 6-8 squadron size and having 3 squads means that much more damage. Although having 8 guns on battleship with 8 turrets is deadly. The 2 crew members I think is the sway point because if you get the repair medic she heals 25% ship damage. At level 12 ships are at 6,800hp - 12,000hp.
Not quite, the ship gets upgraded to your current level when you start the upgrade, so if you wait until you are L9 to upgrade your starter ship, for example, it goes from L1 to L9 in one swoop, hence the cost.
I don't know if it's been said already, but I did get an in game 'transmission' saying PvP is coming soon! Which I'm rather excited about, as long as it works properly is fair enough...maybe going against an AI version of a friends ship?
I saw that too, and it must be AI control of your ship. You could do 1-1 but not sure how you handle delay, latency, lag.
Real time multiplayer gameplay isn't exactly new on iOS.. I'm not saying it's simple but fairly sure backflip could handle it.
Carnage weaver or battleship omega I have enough purple stuff for the carnage weaver or the battleship omega which one is better?
So first ship purchase, Roswell or T47 Hybrid Carrier? And is it me or does this game not want you to play it? Battle timer is a little excessive, maybe if there was a way to increase your battle gauge or something else in the game to do besides battles it would be fine.
I would take carnage weaver, its speed is 640ish and omega is 440. As for further down, I think since omega is legendary it may have something special.
I just got the T47, and it is a monster so far at least in the second sector. And I have pretty decent bombers and turrets.
On the forge bar, there is a tab up top you can select to purchase an addition forge tab. I think the first one was about 350, the second 750, etc. Ship upgrades are based on your level, but they also seem to upgrade TO your level. So if you are level 8 when you start an ships upgrade, when it completes it will be level 8.
The T47 Hybrid Carrier is probably the strongest ship in the game hands down, even including the gold ships. It's layout, both having three gun ports facing one direction but also having 2 fighter ports allows for the highest damage potential of any ship I have seen available. With ships like the Roswell, you are going to be at the most shooting one gun at a time and having to constantly try to doge big shots while getting in range to fire your own cannons. With the T47, you simply put your shields up, turn to the side, and unload, killing the threat before it has a chance to recharge. Maneuverability and range of fire are far less important in this game than straight-up firepower and durability. Thusly, your best bet is to get the T47, get some good shields and guns, and then focus on building up your ability to forge so you can keep up with upgrading your equipment as you upgrade your T47. Anti-matter spent on other ships rather than forge tabs is wasted in my opinion, as better equipment on the T47 is going to serve you far better than a bunch of different ships and crew.
Anyone know if you can level up turrets like ships? Or do you have to get new weapons every time you level?
If you combine three of the same turret type, you can get an improved/higher level version of that turret type. If you combine three random turrets, you will get a random turret that will be closer/equal to your level.
Like 2 hours too late, I bought the Roswell and am getting my ass handed to me every battle. Would really like to reset this game but it looks like there isn't a way, so I'll most likely just stop playing. I spent 4 battle energies trying to pass a planet in the first sector that had three sentries clumped together in the middle with a carrier traveling around it. Seems like it's fighters took out mine so fast, I was left with very little offense. Last try I swapped out an armor plating for a health regen and just kited that stupid ship for about 10 minutes, taking a shot then gaining health, also kited away his fighters so I could kill them all. Either I am completely horrible at games like this, or that Roswell is pretty damn underwhelming piece of machinery.
It unfortunately may be an uphill battle for you at this point. The one piece of advice I would give if you continue to struggle forward is to get Shields for your only Techmods, they are simply the best Techmod available. It isn't unusual to acquire shields that offer protection equal to a quarter or so of your ships total health, that is far better than the health regen Techmods offer or the protection armour gives. Shields also don't allow 'overflow' damage, so even if your 500 damage Shield takes a hit from a 1000 damage attack, the attack will simply pop your shield but do no carry-over damage. Against bosses, this is especially huge.
