It definitely seems like item drop modifiers have an effect on forging. I've been putting everything I have with +loot on before starting forging and when opening the results- just produced an epic missile turret from 3 commons, the other day 3 rare turrets produced a legendary, and 3 uncommon shields produced a legendary. I wish the battles would get harder. Most are over within seconds now, the only things keeping me going now are the promise of new galaxies and multiplayer, and an urge to have a ship with all legendary equipment.
Just downloaded this! It's a lot of fun. I like RTS and I like how it's close up and not far away. It seems pretty fair for a free game and I like how there is strategy in how you attack and move to get into position. Definitely going to play more
I read a similar comment a long time ago on this thread. The person said that they felt the items they had loaded seemed to help with the results of the forge. I need to try this myself.
I can't confirm that it works, but once again I just forged a legendary from 3 uncommon blasters. If the +item isn't working, then I've just been incredibly lucky these last few days. 3/6 turrets legendary, 1/2 tech mods right now. Gettin pretty close to wearin all legendaries. Tried two different lvl 23 blasters, they need to be improved to keep up with the other insanely powerful turrets. I've used a Mercury Onslaught and Eureka Vortex- if i can get directly alongside an enemy, and get a full burst to hit an enemy, it still deals less damage than 1 of the 8 missiles my Solarhawk fires.
Can you explain what EXACTLY you have loaded? What 3 items are you forging? Also, are you doing 3 forge tabs? I'll see if I have something similar and will load the same and give it a try. I have my forge open right now and I'll put something in there.
I put 3 green blasters in the forge, when I did it i was wearing a rare +1.48% loot blaster, rare +2.43% missile launcher, a rare torpedo with +2.34%, and a rare tech mod with +3.49%. None of the other turrets or tech mods had effects on loot. I've always got 3 forges running, right now I have 3 epic missiles in one, the other two are running regular recipe turrets, one with singularity optics as an ingredient, the other with an arc fence shard, I'll let you know the outcomes of those. The singularity shard and epic turrets were forged with that 9.74% +loot modifier, the arc shard recipe has an extra 3.98% from the blaster I just forged. I'll be collecting them all with the 13.72% bonus. EDIT: Found a +1.4% cannon in the shop, so I'll be collecting with a 15.12% bonus. EDIT EDIT: Original recipe with a singularity optics, collected with 15.12% item bonus produced a white missile turret.
This is interesting, I have about an 11% find loot modifier and have not noticed any difference in the forge at all, but then I mostly forge from components not by mixing 3 of the same together. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I actually stopped switching to my +loot gear because I felt like there was no difference.
Your comments have all been very helpful guys, cheers! Just bought the T47 Hybrid Carrier after the Carnage weaver to make a fleet of 5 ships. I will now start saving my antimatter for forge tabs. I just beat the last boss of the Scimitar Galaxy, and I must say grinding for XP now is a sluggish affair after hitting level 19. Here's to hoping they release the new galaxies soon!
I don't think the items can have an effect when collecting your crate. You see the times are different for each rarity level. An uncommon will be probably 15 longer than a regular. The rare will be about 30 min longer than common and the epic will be about an hour longer than normal. These values are shown the minute you push confirm for the forge. So technically you should know what rarity you will receive the minute you press that button. So the modifiers can't change the item later. However I can be mistaken but this is what I noticed. I don't however have enough items with loot modifiers on them, but I believe this is a valuable trick if proven. Like the trick with antimatter modifiers that increase your daily bonus.
i thought the same thing originally, but I've started to notice that forge times seem.... Totally random. Either way I'll continue putting on the loot mods for forging and collecting, it's not too much hassle to switch out a couple items. The three epic missile turrets produced another epic, the arc shard recipe produced a white cannon. I'm gonna start keeping a log of what I throw in the forge, and at what +item, I think a week of forging will produce enough data to start forming theories.
Anyone here using the Shadow Force? I am liking the full one-side turret array of the T47 and I wonder if anyone found the multiple techmod slots and extra turret on the Shadow Force more powerful than the T47's whole arsenal and hangars.
I take it no one knows what the Aspect materials are, or how to use them yet? Games been out a while for us to still be clueless. I have three, still clueless myself anyway.
I got two, Aspect Green and Black. Yeah still have no idea how to use them, and what would happen if you tried forging a turret or techmod with them as ingredients.
By inference, the aspects are likely the third material in a recipe that calls for any random material, likely creating a stronger turret/fighter than other potential third materials. Since they appear rare, i wouldnt bother trying to use them until u r on the final level, as in level 23 i think.
Forge times are determined by level and rarity. If you record forge times and the rarity level of the resulting items, you will see the correlation and will be able to immediately identify the rarity level of future forges. Re the arc shard recipe -- did you actually use the arc targeting module with the arc shards or did you just try to use a shard as a material in a standard turret recipe? If you follow the recipe here: https://www.facebook.com/Plundernauts/photos/pb.669700199720862.-2207520000.1406450003./804281766262704/?type=1&theater, the result should be the epic level arc beam. Using it as the "any material" in a standard recipe will not result in anything special.
Just a quick note I found out all the items with antimatter modifiers have the word "darkenergy" in their name
I use the Shadow Force. I find it an overall improvement on the T47. Another turret is more dependable than fighters, who often fly off to seek a non-priority target, and the extra slots for shields make the ship that much more durable. I generally use one techmod slot for a weapons booster and use a crewmember than boosts weapon recharge timers so that I can maximize damage when I line up my firepower with the enemy.
almost level 23 and have never found an aspect material...anyways does anyone know if crew level matters? does higher crew level = higher bonus from that crew? also this game is awesome cant wait for more content/multiplayer!
I use the shadow force, find it slow but superb fire power. I use one thruster mid all else shield. Using the thruster I can swing around fast so even fast vessels are no issue.
I finished the game and I am at level 19. My thoughts on the ships I used are as follows. I used the T47 first great ship, because having an air wing and turrets on one side, seems like the typical pirate's ship, line the turrets and sink the bastards. I then purchased the Tunguska BY FAR the best ship for me the speed is outrageous, you can outrun anything, and the tech mod slots make it highly customisable. I then mixed three of my ships and hot back an epic sword of Polaris, nice overall but I wouldn't.have bought it myself I now use as the antimatter booster ship for me. I then saved for the ion wolf and got mine, I honestly don't like it at all, I think other faster ships would have been a better choice for me but what the hell, I would have loved the kecsburg in its place for example and the proto widow also, but again I haven't used those ships yet. The forge is so broken right now for me I am getting same rarity levels every time I forge 3 items so I will halt on this action and instead opt for creating from materials for a while until they get it back on. Now I will grind to level 23 and collect money to upgrademy ships maybe I can get them to turn legendary by some luck
