From the devs: "With tomorrow's update comes a massive reduction in Starship Forging times -- something that every Captain across the Universe has been eager for!" Rock on! I'm glad they are listening to feedback.
far from it why spend money when you can control time, just out of intrest does any1 else have a "anti matter" (27%+ anti)ship build for daily bonuses... and a "gold" (32%+)farming build for Create planets.... LOL
Translation: I found an exploit that lets me get free ships but instead of reporting it to the devs or telling anyone else about it I'm just going to gloat and enjoy my free stuff and be better than you when multiplayer comes out. How charitable. Or, $$$ like someone else said.
Did the daily achievement reset? I logged in this morning, as always, but this time I got a day 1 welcome back achievement.
I have heard that if you play with the clock on the phone in order to speed up the forge that it can bork your daily achievement. Is there a chance that was the cause?
Nope that's not it. I wait the 6 days for my ship. And I haven't changed my date and time settings for any other reason either.
Question on forging - some items seem to have no other function than to be forged for extra cash right? For instance i can forge 3 copper bars to get copper sheeting (sorry i don't know the exact names right now, but i think you get my point). Sometimes forging these items get a daily bounty done and you get more money from selling it than you did forging. Other than this do they serve a purpose? I have tried using some created items in the forge to see if they will give consistent results, but nothing yet. Just wanted to see if others found any other use. I assume there are still some 'mysteries' in the forge yet to discover.
Hooray! The update is in effect! I just had a 6 day timer turn into 17 hours! Now if only they could do something about the inventory limit that would be great! It's been a real drag having to sell off all my materials especially in a system based around crafting. I could understand if the items were stored server side but if they are stored client side which I presume they are then why impose such a claustrophobic limit?
Why? Because when you become an "adult" you realize that people should be compensated for their time and hard work especially when they create a quality product. It's simple really. The more you support them, the more content you get and the better chance you have of the game lasting longer. Question is why wouldn't you support a game that you spend countless hours playing and enjoy and you're obviously enjoying the game or you wouldn't be posting here. FYI the exploit has been "patched".
Wait - what inventory limit? Can you please clarify, because I definitely haven't run into anything yet. Thanks!
Really I'm the only one? Stupid bird won't stop yapping at me to sell off my items lol and at a certain point he forces you to sell off 10 items before you can keep playing. As people collect more ships, mats, crews, legendaries I can see this becoming a problem. Mind you I am an expert pack rat so take that for what it's worth.
Hopefully it wasn't the Loot Crate Level tactic that everyone must use. I nearly stopped playing at first before I found this out. Game is hard enough sometimes without a lil extra money in your pocket. Never thought I'd dread levelling up in a game.
almost all base mats (tier 1 Stuff) can be bought though Info menu within the shipyard menu btw (even if they are not within the shop) so should clear up alot of space for example if you select any shield then hit Info scroll down, you have the option to buy all 3 items then just forge away saves alot of space. hope that helps so you dont horde alot of basic items
I don't think we need to worry about multiplayer -- from the devs: "Hello Captain! And no one likes a cheater!! We track all of our cheaters and rest-assured, they might cheat now... but cheaters will be blocked from multiplayer! Cheaters / Hackers never win!"
Yeah, inventory limit seriously sucks. I ended up dumping all my fighters for cash/space since it's not my preferred style of play anyway. You can use your standby ships as overflow space, but it's such a hassle when you're trying to see everything in one place. I've ended up making categories of items on certain standby ships (i.e., an antimatter ship with +33% antimatter boosts for daily collection, then obsolete legendaries/epics on another, etc.).
You guys may want to hold off on trying to forge 3 ships together right now -- apparently there was a bug in the update that can cause the app to crash/create issues getting your new ship out of the forge. EDIT: FIXED "Pirate Captains! The team in engineering has fixed the issue that was impacting some of you when Forging starships. Some Captains were crashing when trying claim their items from the Forge. Other Captains experienced the Forge not letting them fuse 3 starships together. Both of these arrrr now fixed and we are very sorry for the trouble and we know you pirate captains already get into enough trouble as it is! And remember Captain, that the Forge is a mysterious molecular machine and the output of its fusing process is somewhat random! So if you put in 3 random starships you will get a random starship out -- this is just the way the forge works Captain! Fusing multiple starships is a risky business. Much like being a pirate Captain, you must be bold and a little bit crazy!"
Where are you seeing the patch notes? I've only seen the game show a progress bar that says it is updating.
