    Upgrading Legendary equipment

Is there a way to upgrade legendary equipment without losing the rarity? I tried to upgrade a legendary torpedo turret and got a rare back.

I believe the only sure way to upgrade a legendary turret is to forge it with two other legendary turrets. If you combine it with a rare or an epic you have a chance of it becoming a rare or epic.

For example, 2 epics + 1 rare = anything form rare to legendary. 3 epics should guarantee anything for an epic to a legendary.

What were the rarities of the other turrets you combined?

That would have been my problem. I don't remember the exact rarities but They definitely weren't epic or better. Thanks for the answer!

I'd also point out that combining 3 random turrets of equal rarity will not make one of those turrets in the same or higher rarity. For example i forged 2 lasers and a beam turret; all rare. I got back a legendary, but it was a cannon....ugh. I kind of assumed it would be the sum of its parts, but i suppose not.

I also want to add that i recently purchased the Ion Wolf. Its really easy to use and quite effective in most battles. However, i keep losing in one battle at the end of the third galaxy. Its not an important battle, but its annoying. The enemy is a quick ship decked out with missiles that he seems to spew out endlessly....guess i need some better gear to tangle.

In case anyone didn't know, the green clouds in the Scimitar galaxy are health regenerators... I had just been avoiding them like the red clouds since I figured it would just be another kind of damage or something, but I just ran into one and it started boosting my health. Pretty sweet since half the time the cam angles make you run into a red cloud by accident!

It seems to me, having beaten the 4 region a while ago and simply farming anti-matter/gold/equipment, that there really is no point in buying new ships until you actually find yourself struggling. Otherwise, it's best just to hoard anti-matter until a new region opens up and you find your current ship not keeping up. I'm half-way to level 22, and the leveling doesn't seem to be slowing down all that much, making forge upgrades rarely keeping up with my current level, especially ships. This means the more expensive ships are actually kind of pointless, as it is far more efficient to buy cheaper ships continuously that will keep up with the health cap.

if you combine 3 ships your new ship will be based off of the highest ship skill cap

    (for example i had 3 ion wolf's 12,15,17)

my new rare ion wolf is level 19 + has a level cap of 32

I upgrade in the forge for the rarity boosts. I think I got spoiled by my low level Tunguska gaining legendary status from its first upgrade... now I find it hard to scrap it and get a new common one from the store just because the HP can't hack it anymore. To me, the upgrade has been completely worth it. Esp once you hit the level cap, it becomes much less of an issue to leave a ship in the forge for awhile in exchange for the stat boosts. Once a legendary, always a legendary...

The chances of ship rarity increases simply do not seem worth it imo. My T47 is legendary, and took over 6 days to upgrade from level 8 to 14. I bought a Shadow Force at 15, which lacked the legendary stats, but had 22,500 health compared to my T47's 5000 or so at level 8. The T47's upgrade finished by the time I was level 19, at which point it had about 18,000 health, and ships I could buy had about 60,000. At level 21, I can buy a new ship, and even the lowest costing ones have around 100,000 health. The math simply does add up, as upgrading takes too long compared to the benefits from straight leveling. Thus, it is just plain better to keep buying new ships every 4 or so levels, rather than buy big expensive ships and become invested in upgrading them. Unless I reach a level cap soon, or at least a major slow down in leveling, I just don't see this changing.

Level cap is 23. I agree that forging/upgrading takes way too long and your method allows for better continuous play. However, now that I'm capped, it's worth it to me to become as powerful as possible at this level, since that will serve me better when new galaxies are opened. I was suggesting both strategies concurrently -- buy cheap ships to keep you playing, while you simultaneously upgrade toward legendary in your preferred ship style (this does require multiple forge tabs).

Also, buying new ships isn't free -- if you can get ahead at some point (i.e. the level cap), the antimatter going toward buying new ships could instead be used to shorten the forge process... you get an upgraded ship with better rarity for a bit higher cost, but it will need less frequent replacement/upgrading since the stat boosts allow it to hang longer.

Good to know I'll be hitting the level cap soon. I definitely see the purpose of upgrading ships when you can't level anymore. However, I have the feeling that the level limit will be raised everytime they introduce a new region....

Hi all, I need some advice.

Now, I haven't read through all this so you'll have to pardon if it's been asked before. I'm having issues with hitting a steep difficulty change in the 3rd galaxy system. Planets are stupid easy. I rarely take damage. But holy moly, I've reached both first bosses on this 3rd galaxy and they wipe the floor with me in a few hits. It's insane!

Any advice in how to progress? Everything is crazy easy, but the ramp up on these two bosses is just nuts.

    Thanks!

What level are you? Have you upgraded your ship and weapons?

Both bosses gave me some difficulty as well. I beat the right side boss with my level 7, T47 but it wasn't easy. I believe he uses missiles so go with long range weapons and stay away.

I couldn't beat the left side boss with my underleveled T47 so I bought a level 12 at the time Scimitar and beat her first try. Quick tip you can push your way out of the ice ring and circle around while your HP/weapons recharge.

The Scimitar is an OP ship for the price. 3x front facing turrets, one of them is 360 degrees and very good speed as well.

Sometimes I wish we could replay bosses to see if an alternate strategy/ship would have worked.

They were tough for me too and I had to stop and spend some time leveling up before I could get by them. Like Bryson said, upgrade ship and equipment. A high level shield is your friend. If their weapons are knocking you out fast, try longer range weapons of your own or you can try building armor of that type to provide some defense -- recipe is Hull plating + two turrets of that type.

Go figure! I just beat the boss on the right side. Kited with torpedoes for awhile.

I'm a level 11 Roswell. Multiple upgrades but nothing insane.

Now for the left one... Thanks for the tips guys!
