Can someone explain what this means? How do you keep a loot crate planet open? I just reached the second galaxy(bat system). Great game! Really fun! Currently level 6, wondering is it worth forging an arc turret now or hold on to the mats until I am higher level?
I love this game and happen to find this forum when searching for more information of forging. I went through the entire thread but didn't find anyone tried forging 3 ships. Did anyone try and what will that become?
Also I just noticed I got antimatter "reward" for forging a level 6 shield. Normally I will wait until the next level so that my shield can be higher level but it might be a good strategy to forge a new shield, turret and fighter every level for the extra anti-matter? Anything else? What do you guys think? Any other tips on maximizing anti-matter?
There's usually a loot crate level with obstacles like mines or beam fences, collect all crates except for one and then die. You gain all gold and antimatter from the crates you collected and get to repeat the level. If you complete the planet, the chance to collect crates is no longer available. And yes I would take a look at bounties for antimatter. Usually the ones that involve battle mechanics such as destroying a certain number of fighters, makes more sense to me than trying to complete a forging bounty as that would cost gold/time you might not want to spend.
Should I get sapphire-814 or save for ion wolf? Sapphire has more speed and health and was thinking torpedo on front and beams on sides. What do you guys think?
I own both. I upgraded to the Sapphire first, got a handle on the ship and then moved onto the Ion. If you're planning on one purchase I would go with the Ion, it has less speed but has more health than the Sapphire, an extra crew seat, one more fighter hangar, and 360 degree coverage on the turrets. There's a blind spot directly behind the Sapphire.
Guess I will have to keep my eyes open for another loot crate planet. Wish I had known sooner, would have been great to farm them daily. I think it's more beneficial to forge items for the bounty as antimatter is more hard to come by then gold as gold is a renewable resource. You also have the added benefit from having your tech being up to date. How do you destroy fighters? So far I've only destroyed 2/10
Any turret besides beams, torpedoes, or cannons. So lazers, missiles, or blasters. I would avoid blasters - worst weapon in the game. And apologies for monopolizing the responses, I'm sitting here on the couch watching the World Cup while browsing the forum.
Bean weapons will also hit fighters but only by accident you cannot target them on fighters and ditto on blasters.
You can target with blasters, I've done it many times, only problem is blasters create scatter shots so it'll take awhile to down fighters, but they do target.
So I was looking for another offensive-skilled Crew as good as Admiral Worthington and The Masked One sounded promising. Turns out TMO is pretty much worthless, the increased turning speed boost sounds good, but in practise it's really finicky and makes it difficult to get your ship facing the direction you want it to. The Admiral remains my go to attack booster, especially for ships like the T47 and the Shadow Force, which can almost auto-kill bosses seconds into a match using his ability. I've replaced my T47 with the Shadow Force, mainly because my T47 STILL has 2 days to go being upgraded, which is ridiculous, especially since it will be way underleveled by the time it finishes and thus need to be upgraded AGAIN. The Shadow Force's two extra slots for shields and one extra gun port more than make up for the lack of fighter slots. I like fighters and bombers, but they aren't always reliable, sometimes going off screen rather than focusing on a priority target. With the Shadow Force, you always have 4 turrets focused right on the target you want, and cycling through 4 shields means you can keep in range and unload. The fourth regions was largely a cake-walk using this ship. For weapons, I'm starting to warm up to missile launchers, they fire fairly fast and do high damage. They don't have the issue to the same extent that torpedo launchers do in that their shots get regularly out-ran. I had a legendary blaster, and really tried to give it a try, but even with huge stats over my other guns, it simply rarely did much. In addition, I noticed that it would allow me to fire at a large range, but the shots would actually die out before they reached it's maximum firing range!
I would hold off on forging the arc turret. If you're a relatively frequent player, you'll level up away from it quickly. Its value would be maximized when you hit the level up/galaxy cap after Scimitar. The best loot planet to leave open is Gale in the Bat Galaxy. Lots of crates, quick pick up and then suicide. It's a trap/boss fight the first time, and I farmed it a ton when I was low level and needed cash to burn on upgrades. If you've already beat it, don't worry -- just leave it open as a mine next time it gets reattacked.
Ok I found Gale on the map. Thanks for the tip. So the arc shards are only good until the 9th correct? Not sure I will reach the level cap that soon but I guess I will hold off forging till the last day. What level is the level/galaxy cap ? Really fun game and the combat is actually satisfying and has strategic depth especially considering its a freemium title. It reminds me of Star Trek online if any one is interested in this type of space combat and is looking for more. Does levelling up your ship more frequently speed up the upgrade process or does it take 6 days no matter what at the higher levels?
So I raided the crates on Gale twice just now. First time I got ~5k and second time I got 4.5k. I would like some items but hey I'll take it ! I am upgrading my ship from level 4 to 7 and it's going to take "only" 8 hours. At least it should be ready by the time I wake up tomorrow.
I've bought Sapphire just to find out it doesn't have 360 turrets. So I bought t47 and merged Sapphire and two starting ships. Result was Proto Widow. Awesome ship. I use two shields, repair and DMG booster. Usually beating opponents 2-3 levels higher. I'm bit disappointed that there isn't higher level ship with 4 tech-nodes. They are much more reliable than fighters. I'm thinking to try Tonguska which has 50% higher speed to dodge enemy torpedoes and fighters. Losing only 360 arc...
Everything you earn during the event will remain in your inventory -- the only things you need to secure before the 9th are the Arc Targeting Module (bounty prize for collecting 5 shards, forges into arc turret) and Arc Tactical Panel (bounty prize for collecting an additional 10 shards, forges into arc techmod). Those components will remain in your inventory with your collected shards after the event so you can complete the forging process anytime (the later the better), just make sure to hold on to all ingredients. Right now it looks like the level up cap is 23 (I'm 22, so I'm going off what I've seen from others), and there are 4 galaxies total that are open. Leveling your ship up always takes 6-12 days, this only gets longer as you get to be a higher level. The exact time will depend on what its new rarity will be (legendaries around level 20 take ~12 days).
Thanks for sharing the result. But a bit disappointed. I thought that could forge something different than those available in shop, or at least some rare/epic ship. You know, it cost the same amount of gold as upgrade plus 2 more ships!!! Better buy a new ship or do an upgrade...
It actually came as rare Proto Widow. I wonder, is there any benefit in upgrading the ship besides getting more HP? My ship is still level 6, 2k HP, and am halfway through third galaxy, beaten medusa and the other boss. I am heavily relying on shields and staying outside the range of enemies.
Currently level 14 in the level void) lol any1 know what would happen if i threw, my Ion Wolf(level 12), Scimitar (level 10) and a x24 rare(level 9). would it come out any ship more o less? same as turrets?
A couple questions: Concerning Arc shard weapons, do those scale with level? Should I hold onto the materials until I'm a higher level, or should I just forge them asap? I just picked up an "Aspect Black" material but I can't find any information on it. What recipes does it work with? Edit: Just seen the first question answered above in the thread. Never mind! Still wondering about Aspect Black though!
