Yah weird, it was a little underwhelming.

thanks for the replies on the annoying laser-barricaded treasure level! this game rocks- finally saved up 1250. someone was saying the proto widow was awesome. is the proto widow really worth it? i am currently using the scimitar and the widow only has +25 speed and little more hp. same amount of turrets mods etc.
if not what ship do you guys think is worth the 1250 ive saves up? im really looking for 300-360 turret function on a ship

I thought the pro to widow had 2 360 turrets as they are in the same place as on the Ion Wolf. Not sure though as i only heard one person on here talk about the widow.

I use the Kecksburg. Yes, one forward turret but I am enjoying my new strategy. I toss up a shield, unleash 4 groups of fighters and charge straight toward the enemy ship. I ram them and at the same time unleash my single torpedo (3200 DMg). Then I have the speed to run away. I use two shield mods and if the first goes down I put up the second while running away - torpedo has 10 second cool down but all the while my fighters are eating up the enemy. Of needed and the enemy is slow enough I can sniper from 1700m away.

The only time I get into trouble is on really fast opponents, ramming becomes very important. I happen to have the crew member that heals and the other crew member that nullifies damage for a short time.

After using fast ship I can't get myself to play a slower strategy.

    progress so far

Hi all, I'm new here and have been playing for about 10 days...
Been using the Roswell quite successfully. I'm about 2/3 through the 2nd zone.
I love the speed and just rely on hit and run tactics, usually putting my longest range weapons on the back and just flying away from other ships, blasting them from the rear as I go. I use a shield and a healing mod for when other ships also have long range weapons and can reach me..

Few other thoughts...I have been spending all my coins buying up items from the shop to throw into the forge. It's getting expensive, but its lots of fun.

Something disappointing that happened this morning--put 3 green turrets into the forge and got back a green turret. I had really thought based on what I've read here that I would have gotten a blue. No deal though. Was it just bad luck?

Also have been having good luck finding shards. I'd say I find one maybe 1 out of every 5 battles? Already made the arc turret and have about 7/10 shards towards the next item. What do you do with the shards you have left over? (turret required you to find 5 shards, yet you only use 1 to make the turret, and then the counter starts from zero for the next item, basically making the other 4 shards useless in your inventory...)

The forge has a chance of making same quality item or better, not 100% chance of upgrade.

I think it was a bad luck thing. Though putting in 3 greens doesn't guarantee a rare, its a pretty good chance of it (maybe 70-75%ish?). Sorry for the bad luck though :(

Well, seems you luck is better than mine in the shards area :).

I think the extra shards can still be used if you find the right materials to craft, Even though shards drop the amplifier might show up in the store (just like someone mentioned another rare arc turret showed up). I would keep checking the store for materials just in case. Even if they don't show up that way, i would think keeping arc shards is better than selling them.

I debated that for awhile also, and went with the Sapphire instead. Not that I'm recommending it over the Widow, but I didn't like giving up fighter hangars. The Sapphire doesn't have 360 degree coverage but has the same turret placement as the Widow. So I would make sure the Widow does have 360 motion first before you purchase. Or you could save up and wreck with the Ion, which is my main ship.

Damn, Medusa has one hell of a Beam Turret. Good thing I have three 1000+ range Beams for level 11. Gonna use those to make me new T47 playstyle—the Phased Cannon Array—and long range wreck every ship possible.

Anyone played with ubatura? The saucer ship with 7 gunpointd?

Im saving up and thinking between that and ion wolf. I feel the speed if ubatura combined with some long range beams is fairly unbeatable if u have space to maneauver.

Which weapons are able to shoot down fighters? A couple of them should wreck many fighters.

havent used the Ubatura yet, but the Ion wolf is crazy ( 2 point out both turrets are 360 degrees) if you pop 1300ish range beams or lazers is just unbeatable

I use the Ubatura occasionally. The range of the turrets aren't spectacular. If a spaceship is in front of you, only the center 3 turrets can hit it. So I use 3 beam turrets there. The sides, I either use lasers or missiles which can take out fighters and one or two extra beams. Other than the center 3 turrets, the rest of them, I choose them for the bonus stats. Mainly looking for bonus XP since I've beat all planets, got to lvl20 and only have re-attacks left.

Thanks fer the info! How fast would u say it moves? Noticably faster than ion wolf, or just a bit faster? I feel soeed and runaway with long distance beams would be hard even for ion won.

Against ion wolf, i woukld separate fighters from the carrier, blast fighters, then kill carrier, all while staying out of carriers main guns range bc i can mkve signjficantly faster. Thus is asduming human pvp.

This theiry have any merit or lost cause?

I don't have the ion wolf, but I'm not a big fan of slow ships. The x24 cruiser has 600 speed and I dislike it. The Ubatura is IMO just fast enough to outrun boasters and missiles. Any slower would be too slow for me. I have the keck and the Tunguska. Both are amazing ships nice superfast. The tung is more of a pro active ship and with the keck, you can just lay back and let the fighters do all the work. But the reason why I'm using the Uba is because im at end game now. Everything is easy, so i mainly use it for the many weapon slots which can hold more xp bonus.

The timers to upgrade ships are broken.

Going from 14 level ship to 15 level is 250,000 gold and 6 day timer. Guess I miss out on the Epic Shard hunt. @!$?

Seriously backflip the ship costs 2500 and to speed up one level is 1200 half the cost of the most expensive ship to gain what? A little hit points?
Man I'm frustrated. There is no way even to tell the length of the forge before you begin!

I'm with you on wanting the upgrade timers to be shorter and we REALLY need to see the forge timer before we hit go.

This is solvable though. Take an older ship and go farm early content. The shards still drop there.

For anyone wondering about Proto Widow, it has 2 x 360 degrees towers and the front one is 180.

I'm thinking to buy the psychic shield guy. Can anyone please share how long this ability lasts/recharges? Thanks!

The video I posted shows the psychic shield being used, so you're able to estimate the time yourself.

Also it looks like there are only two possible Arc pieces to be made, the bounty list is no longer updated after you create the second one. I'm just wondering if I should hang onto my shards?
