I would,go with Ion Wolf but it also depends on your play style, Ubatuba no fighters, faster, more guns. Ion Wolf slower but fighter, 2 crew, more strategy based.
I believe that the designers intended you to upgrade every level, that should also give you smaller timer, as now you upgrade to your level, this adds all the timers in between. Also,having more than one forge and more than one ship was the focus. Somewhere the focus shifted especially if you find "the ship" you need no extra, and forging becomes monotonous with the randomness and steep power curve in levels and gear. Again I am totally guessing on this, but that is my best guess. On the other hand Backflip studios have a good trackrecord and know how to do timers, see DragonVale. All I can hope that this will be refined as the game moves forward. The zoom/camera is frustrating.
This is what happens when you beat a level 16 boss with a level 13 ship. I was able to beat the last boss of the Bandito gang before I could clear this planet below me, because there's a fast ship here that shoots out massive damage with torpedoes at a low cool down. Also I feel Golden ships should at least get a golden sheen graphic on the map and in battles to show that they are special. You really only get a golden border in the ship hangar menu.
Ditto. I got an Arc Fence Shard from the first battle. Pretty interesting how easily I got the first one right as the event started.
Yep I got one after the first battle and then after the 10th battle. They don't appear to be all that rare. I'm waiting to hit level 15 before I forge anything with it, and will report back here with results. My guess is that "standard' forging recipes for turrets/techmods will work and you use the shard in place of the 'any material' slot.
I can confirm this. You can't combine shards together like you combine turrets. Only one is allowed per forge.
I don't think its something you can craft; it drops from battles. However, i think huckweed is right; it will replace the 'any material' slot for the tech mod formula and the turret formula. Haven't tried it yet as i only have one and my forges are full.
Well i can at least tell you that just tossing an arc shard as the last component of a turret forge didn't work, just got back a lowly white turret.
I don't think it works that way. Look at the Bounties list, you collect 5 arc shards you get an arc targeting module. I'm guessing the further you get in collecting arc shards, the higher quality arc equipment you'll get as rewards, similar to the daily welcome back bonuses. Edit: okay I figured it out, don't waste your shards. After earning 5 you'll get a tech module which you can use to forge an arc random turret from a shard, and the reward arc tech module. I'm guessing once your turret is crafted you'll get access to more arc equipment in the same way. I've also completed battles with 100% hp and gained two arc shards in a row.
Hmm. Never knew where the Bounties were. Right now I have four Arc Shards. Edit: Found the Contraband Arc Bounty. It was just added into the list.
Arc Shard Info I can confirm Cilo is right. Once you get 5 shards, you collect the arc shard bounty and receive the special targeting module which allows you to use one of your acquired arc shards to craft an arc turret. The one I created (see screenshot) does 2-3x damage per second and over double the burst duration compared to the beam turrets I currently use so it was a fantastic upgrade! The next arc bounty is collecting 10 shards with an arc tactical panel as the reward. Huck
Yup, got a similar except with xp and gold bonuses. Wonder who will be the first to toss it into the forge along with 2 regular epic beam turrets, to see if we can get a legendary arc turret?
Check your stores! In addition to the Epic Arc Annihilator I forged, there was a Rare Arc Annihilator of Nano Regen (+3.7% Damage dealt converted to health) in my store, so now I'm rocking two Arc Annihilators! With a third, the chance of making a legendary Arc Annihilator will be higher, I would think.
Make sure you fully quit the app and restart so the update with the shards installs (if you saw the graphic saying there's an event on, you're good).
Made one, nothing too special. Generally if you spend enough time farming you'll find better epics. And ofc the legendaries are much better. But its a free epic i wouldn't mind taking.
