Most of the forge process in my experience simply comes down to luck. You can edge the odds closer to your favour, by using items that are of a similar type (e.g. beam weapons) and level (e.g. all green). The combination of those I would expect to return you at the least a blue level appropriate beam weapon. Shield and healing techmods are a little harder from what I've seen to forge a blue or better. I've never seen an epic shield or health regen. Be aware that techmods that increase the rate of fire by x % don't necessarily increase the rate of fire, as you might expect, the higher the item level. A level 10 beam turret techmod can have 24.9% increase in rate of fire, while a level 17 equivalent can be lower at 24.4%. Something to be aware of! Keep an eye on the shop, you can get some top quality stuff on there that's also appropriate to your level.
I think the Tunguska might be equal or even better than Ubatuba end game. The four mods allows 4 shields and with the hit and run strategy, it's practically invincible. The side turrets of the Uba aren't used very much since you flee a lot. And the range of the side turrets are a bit dissapointing. Ubatuba shines against weaker enemies tho. Due to it's fire power, you can quickly dispose of weaker enemies.
I got a legendary shield by forging two uncommon and a common shield. I think I got incredibly lucky tho. First and only legendary that I've forged.
It's the worst designed level in the game, you either need the the mole crew member, or enough hp on your ship and speed to fly through fast enough. I think I beat it with a level 10 Ion Wolf, can't remember exactly the level but I know I couldn't pass it until my hp was high enough.
this seems to be the case for me as well. When making a turret, its random when using the supplies in terms of which turret you get and its rarity and often times is either common or uncommon. The only way to get higher level gear is to use higher level components. If you want rare, you need 3 uncommon, if you want epic, you need 3 rare. If you use a mixed bag - say one rare, one epic, and one common, you might not get a rare or epic. Your chances are higher, but its not guaranteed. I would think the best method to get consistent results is to slowly go up the chain - forge commons until you get 3 uncommons, then forge uncommons until you get 3 rates, etc. Its slow, but should eventually produce legendaries. Also, remember that old uncommons, rares, epics, and legendaries still can be held onto until you get other like turrets to forge to current level. By that i mean if you got an old level 5 legendary you don't use, don't sell it; wait until you have other legendaries to forge 3 together to a legendary of your current level. And in terms of the shop giving top quality stuff, I've never seen it go beyond giving rares, but thats still not bad if you are collecting them for forging. I would also say that the forge is probably the most important element of this game so its worth the antimatter to have at least 3 IMO.
I haven't beat him either, but I'm upgrading my T 47 before the next time i fight him. I get close, but can't finish it. He primarily uses torpedoes so some torpedo plating would probably work quite well.
After a couple of days being stuck slowly grinding XP to get level 15 i finally made lvl 15 and unlocked the last galaxy. Some fun battles, and i had to buy a new ship to beat the final boss. Cheesed out with my Ion Wolf and just spectated from a safe distance as my fighters tore her a new one, popping Jean Luc whenever he was available. Now i can finally get some work done while i wait for an update to hit that hopefully opens some new galaxies and/or gives us PvP.
I just want to mention this as i never remembered it from the tutorial; just found out on my own. You can use 2 fingers on the screen to drag your view around. Its not great, but its better than the way the camera moves on its own. Just wanted to point it out as other people seemed to have mentioned the bad camera too. Also, i would recommend to people keeping all old ships and upgrading them when you have the money. As many have said, you are out for days on your main ship when it upgrades. However, if you have a fairly upgraded old ship, you can still keep playing for the days the main is being upgraded to at least re-attack and go through loot levels. Lastly, i think we should have data on ship gathered that isn't in the store in the game. Namely the firing range of the turrets as this seems to be the most important factor we can't really account for until after purchasing. Obviously having 360 is ideal with at least 2 turrets that can do that. I know the Ion Wolf does and i think the Proto Widow does too. Any others?
Is it the boss surrounded by Ice? If so I activated a shield, rammed the ice on one side and then pegged him off using long range beams while he circled inside the barrier.
no its surrounded by the laser barriers so you can't really fly through unless your have high speed and HP. But if you have that, you probably would win anyways
Pretty sure I flew through that one also, sat on the outside for awhile and healed, then pegged him off from range. Wasn't the prettiest win.
Another quick video of what I've been doing with the Ion Wolf. Nice ship, I love the 360 degree coverage, however I do wish it had a tad more speed. Also with it upgraded to Epic quality I've been taking on 15 level ships at level 13. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Anyone use the Kecksburg? Seems like an interesting ship. Send out fleets and outrun the ships shooting at you.
I'm a big fan of fast ships. After finishing all planets and have several strong fighter squads, I bought the keck. I really like it so far. I shield up, deploy fighters and run around till my fighter finishes everything off. It outruns everything except lasers and beam. The range of that single turret is good. Not 360, more like 320 degrees but still fine. Overall, nice ship. But less mod slots compared to tunga and less weapons than any other ship, which means less bonus like gold/antimatter/xp.
Display Recorder on an iPhone 5, just make sure my palm doesn't cover the bottom speaker when recording.
Thanks for the tip. Upgrading T47 from Level 6 to 9 (Been keeping my gold from constantly buying more powerful weapons for upgrades and such, took 55k), and now I'm pretty much waiting out 29 hours. I'm not gonna bother with my Barra because that'd take even more gold, and it's a shitty battleship anyway. 4k HP? Yes please, game. Also, I get no weapon drops from normal battles. I'm certain every Megaboss drops his respective Legendary, but I get no commons whatsoever from non-boss battles. It saddens me, really.
