I did undervalue crew at first. Worthington works a bit different than I originally though, as he locks the ship in place so you don't turn while you move and instead strafe. It's alright, although I'd far prefer faster turning. However, he reduces weapon cooldown for EVERY type of weapon, whereas a lot of other crew only affect a specific type. The reduction in cooldown is enough that you can basically continuously fire all your weapons and it seems to last for a while. Not at level 15 yet, just about at 12 though and have almost finished half of the third region. My T47 is only at lvl 8 right now, but it turned legendary with the second to last upgrade I did and has 3925 hit points. It does seem like once a ship goes legendary, further upgrades keep it legendary, although maybe I just lucked out. I will be upgrading it again soon, so will see what happens. I haven't crafted a legendary weapon yet, just I do have a level 5 legendary cannon that is too weak now. I plan to craft it with 2 other cannons for an upgrade and see what happens.
I have 4 crafting tabs now, which really help continuously create new and better gear. Some of the better items I have so far: Reactive Shield of Agility - 1942 Shield Strength - increases ship turning speed Shield of Nano-Regen - 1352 Shield Strength - converts damage to health Corrosive Eclipse - 277 dps laser turret - crit, gold drop, starship hp, loot drop, active shield strength boosts Electro-burst Beam + Signal Jammer - 178 dps - reduces enemy targeting range Lucky Typhoon Squadron of Renegades - 236 dps, 5 squadron bombers - gold drop, targeting range boosts
I'm currently level 14 and slogging my way through to level 15. The developers need to adjust the Xp awards handed out because it is taking forever to level up. However, I'm having fun blasting enemies with my level 12 Proto Widow starship. I'm surprised no one has used/mentioned this ship. It is quite speedy. Turns are much faster than the stock starship and easier to control than the flying saucers like the Tungaska (sic). It has three gun turrets, two of which are 360° and the front turret is 180°. I mainly use beam and laser turrets and this has gotten me far in the game. Put the laser on one of the wings and you got the best 360° defense against fighters and bombers. Against stronger ships, you can still blast them with laser and beams while being chased, without having to do the side-to-side shuffling on the X24 for instance. It also has 4 techmod slots, which comes in handy. I outfit it with shield and regen, hardwired beam damage and laser range for most outings. One time, i outfitted two of the slots with beam armour. It made for the weirdest battle against a ship with beam turrets. I took no damage from the other ship as we both stared each other down. I didn't want to end the battle quickly so I just headbutted my opponent until I won. I recently acquired a legendary beam turret (the aptly named Icarus Splitter) at level 10 and this gun is AMAZING! Ungodly range and power. I'm still using it as my primary gun on level 14.
Well I will tell you in 3 hours whether or not upgrading a legendary gives you another legendary. Fingers crossed it does as I loved that missile launcher (upgrading it with another 2 launchers, 1 epic, 1 common).
Is it possible to see ship info like the fire radius of turret spots before you buy the ship? If so where do you see the info
Man, they really need to fix the auto-zoom in this game. The most annoying way to die, especially versus a boss, is having the camera pan close up to my ship and preventing me from navigating and targeting properly.
Well I can officially confirm that no, forging a Legendary does not grant another Legendary. I got an Epic back, gutted. Not sure if crafting 2 epics and a legendary work or if you need 3 legendaries, or even if that works, either way I ain't finding out, I'll let someone else risk their legendary this time if they want to try it!
They're not needed with the proto widow starship. And I don't really miss them that much. Against strong ships with blasters and lasers, they get picked off too easily. With my current configuration, I can destroy three ships before they can even get into firing range while standing still.
I find this squadron is hard to pick off and does good damage, and while ship focuses on them I am free to do damage. Then again this is why the game is so much fun everyone can find a strategy that fits them.
This is my most epic blaster, been holding on to it since level 11. Will need to test it out, so far I find blasters fun early in game but late game too slow and inaccurate. Unless you have the Omega ship, then make one side for battleships the other for fighters, best of both
I'm now thinking the ion wolf could be a great ship if the two turrets fire 360 degrees like the proto widow...? Saying that, do 2 of the carnage weaver turrets do the same!?
Here is my beam turret with CRAZY amount of range. It's actually impractical with this much range. Enemy ships are still in range off the top of the screen so targeting them is nearly impossible.
Do 2 turrets on the carnage weaver, ion wolf, and sapphire b-14 rotate 360 degrees like the proto widow?
