Heres all the answers We could not support the iPad at launch, its quite a bit of work and we dont want to rush out a simple port we want it to kick ass in its own right and feel ideal for the device - its going to look and play beautifully. The game took someone who has been a fan of ours for years, who has played everything we ever made 6 hours of non stop gameplay to complete the game and thats without all upgrades and fish heads. The average blockbuster xbox game is about 8-10 hours. I just bought and completed LIMBO today which was $15 and took 3 hours to beat - but the quality was incredible and i really enjoyed it. If you want a real experience or just a bit of fun it will suit your needs. Theres more variety and unique experience than any other iPhone game I know and we spent ages making sure the quality was ridiculously high and major fun. The response this game is getting is overwhelmingly positive. Literally hundreds of reviews and comments claiming outrageous praise - search Plunderland on twitter or google or itunes. A few niggles here and there That we will fix with the coming update! We are super committed to making sure this is an awesome experience and will only grow. To celebrate Plunderlands success we are going to release the first content update as completely free and if the game remains a success on this strategy we will continue to do this for as long as we can survive doing so. There will be lots of new content over the life of this game, I mean some crazy awesome ideas that will put the life of the game into a world of its own. When development of an update is far enough along we will announce it to make it concrete Hope this helps clear things up for you. Ask if you need anything else. Also Thanks for the continuing support, it means a lot!
Congrats for the well deserved success of this game. Nice to hear that you are planning some more content for free. btw, in the Plunderland section in the Settings app, I found an option for "8-bit" mode. I turned it on, expecting to see the graphics in a pixelated 8-bit style, but it didn't appear to change anything. Does it actually do anything? Or is there something wrong? I'm running it on an iPhone 4 btw, so I don't know if that makes any difference.
Problem is it never actually relaunches because of multitasking, quit out of it from your tasks then open it and 8bit will be running. It needs to setup the opengl view which happens at launch
Okay upgraded to OS4. NOW I will buy this game and enjoy it. If it's good enough I really won't mind DLC. By the way, what do you guys plan on doing for the first content update. Would it be like more levels, or a endless/survival/other mode?
I am still trying to figure out where the cod pieces are on 1-3. I have played the level many time over, but I still can't find them. Help, please?
This one took me a few tries to figure out. Don't pick up the ship-tearing power up (or throw it over the top of your ship is you have the Mermaid bowsprit), and then destroy the next enemy boat that you come across using only cannons, breaking it apart in the water. Anyone know where the final cod piece is? It's driving me crazy.
iPhone Wallpapers Hey guys a few people have been talking about iphone wallpapers, we posted a couple on our website a little while ago for Plunderland. http://www.johnnytwoshoes.com/blog/permalink/261 The black and white iphone wallpaper in the trailer is something I drew based of an artist I like. I just uploaded it here We can make more Plunderland wallpapers if youd like? Cod piece on the last level turns out isnt working, already fixed and coming in the update. Sorry for the inconvenience.
man your game is masterpiece add more stages and make a option to see all the tips not only when starting a game
We will be releasing a big guide in an update so it explains all the game elements if you need that extra assistance Thanks that means a lot
Yes, please! I agree with all that you said. Also, an in-depth explanation of the scoring (for example X gets you how many points) would be very useful.
Same... even though mine shows a gold medal and I have the cod piece! Edit: Nevermind, beat it again and it let me move on
Feedback This is a fun game, but I'm not sure it's worth the $3. It'd be nice to see a little more depth--maybe 50% more levels, a few more (and greater variety in) upgrades, possibly more random little items to interact with in the game, like the soccer ball (those were exciting, until I discovered there were only about three types of items, and they didn't do very much). A couple features that would be REALLY nice: 1) Some kind of damage indicator on your ship. As it is, you really have no idea when you're about to be sunk (unless I'm missing something). Maybe this is complicated, since hits to different parts of your ship do different amounts of damage? 2) A treasure counter, so you can see how well you're doing on a given level. EDIT: Also, I'd second some of the comments on controls. The biggest issue for me is that the camera zooms and pans a bit, causing the location of the boat on the screen to change unpredictably. Since cannon firing is based on your finger's location relative to the boat, this can cause confusing results. One simple solution that would make aiming a LOT easier: Use the location of the boat when the person's finger first touches it. Don't update the cannon trajectory when the boat's location changes. That way, it'd be way easier to keep things steady while aiming. Just a thought...
I might have replayed level 2-7 10 times. Still not unlocking campaing 3. Do I need gold medal and the secret cods on all the other levels to pass or do I need to play another 10 times?
Bought everything I possibly can atm, just cannot beat the hard survival though! Guess I'll try again in a while
Agree with all these points. The camera is irritating sometimes, especially on the last survival stage. I found myself in mid-combat with a ship, then another would appear from the other direction and the camera would shift, leaving one of the attackers out of shot. I'd love a sandbox/survival mode where you just cruise the seas, with random ships, monsters and weather conditions being thrown at you, with visible scores and online leaderboards. The game urgently needs something to prolong its longevity.
+1 on this idea. I think it would be great if there was an endless mode where you could just cruise along and have random weather conditions, enemies, islands etc along the way. As for scores/online leaderboards, there would need to be an "endless" mode where there are waves of enemies that get stronger and stronger, and obviously it should be exactly the same every time to keep things fair Another idea I just thought of is a level creator/editor where users could make their own levels and upload them for other users to download. That would be a good way to increase the content/longevity, and might be hard to implement at first, but once it's there you don't need to be making more levels because the users are making them instead. And from that moment onwards it's plain sailing
