This is a brilliant game I've had it for ages. But why is everyone bitching about what iOS it supports? Just update your devices and quit moaning. I'm on iOS 5.0.1 using iPod 4G and it's always worked fine (I upgrade iOS when each new one comes out, don't understand why people don't?) unless i suppose your still using an old device in which case you should have kept your old working version or buy a newer device simples.
I had never heard of this game before, but looking at all the positive impressions, i have to give it a try
You can't update an iPod Touch 2G and I can't afford to upgrade. And, unfortunately, it won't sync from my PC. That said, just don't think it's right for devs to change compatibility for an OLDER game. New games going forward is fine, obviously. But we paid for a game we can no longer get again. So no, I won't stop "moaning" in these cases. I won't complain about new games that I can't play as I want the system to move forward. But this is a different situation.
Maybe this isn't a fair comparison, but it's like if you buy an Xbox 360 game and suddenly an Xbox 720 is released. Of course, you wouldn't expect any of the new Xbox 720 games to work on your 360. But you wouldn't expect a developer to update a game that you did buy for your 360 to now only work on a 720. Anyway, I'll drop it. But just wanted the devs to understand my thinking. I'm not against progress in any way, but I just don't think it's right to take away the right to play a game that previously worked on your device. I paid for it just like everyone else (well, not now that it's free, but you know what I mean).
I Agree with you... MAYBE it would be okay if there was a giant disclaimer that said *DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU OWN OLDER GEN DEVICES* etc, but even then if someone had already deleted it off their phone, and for whatever reason didnt have it backed up.. Well all around it stinks for older gen people. But what can you do?
Guys we do everything we can, but ultimately we are two brothers in our early twenties, not some giant company. I wish Apple let us leave old builds up to support older devices and have new ones as well. There are some oversights in the Appstore, its constantly evolving. Sorry you cant play the game!
Plunderland Free Can someone try and download Plunderland and tell me if it works for them? we have been having problems :S
I understand your point of view, but still think if you want to run with a new iOS version then start a new game. I have no problem with new games not supporting older devices. But don't disable an older game for those who previously supported you. I know it's just a few bucks lost for those of us who can't play it anymore, but that still doesn't make it the right thing to do. Oh and even though it may have only caught the eye of the people on this forum, it may have been nice to have a post with a forewarning about the new version coming out so we could have redownloaded the old one before it changed.
i played the first 3-4 stages... i don't find it to be all that aweosme... am i missing something here? do i get something later on that will hook me on this game?
I don't think your missing something it's just not for you. It happens. This is one of my favorite games on iOS but if you don't like it yet you most likely won't like it more playing more.
oh ok... everyone talked so highly of this game so i was excited to play it but... i can't find that spark of amusement everyone seems to be having with this one =/
I totally hear you. There have been a few games that everyone seems to love and I just can't get into them. It's the same with movies sometimes you will have one that everyone loves and you feel like your missing something cause you didn't like it. At least you tried it...
Is anyone else having trouble downloading this from the App Store? I get a "This item is currently being modified" message every time I try to download it. It's been like this for two days now :-( Note: I'm using the Japanese App Store...not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Please, though, when you do this sort of stuff you CAN make a huge disclaimer stating that it won't work if you update it. Or why not release a "Plunderland -" game for free that will work on older devices? Just stick the older build up and add SOMETHING different. Or leave the old gave on the app store and rerelease it. at the very least giving a heads up to people who have owned the game for eons. As for everyone else, this is the risk of updating apps. It's why I am hesitant to empty my recycle bin .
