Hey guys we're going into full production to meet the release. So I figured I'd sneak some gameplay footage and post it up. Obviously the menus are place holder! Let me know what you think! The Alamo has also been upgraded far beyond base stats so you guys can see what you can do after leveling up.
Hey guys just another last minute update. We've ran into a few hiccups in the past week and are spending the following few days to patch up somethings and get it submitted to Apple and Google Play as soon as possible! Sorry for any inconvenience - Kamil Make sure to check us out on the following for more frequent updates on the game instagram: @goodnightgames twitter: @GoodNightGames
A little peek at the helper drones in Plunder Kings. They each have different abilities to suit your play style of choice. More details to come! We're working hard on the release so please bear with us as we continue to improve the game.
It’s been awhile but we’ve been hard at work polishing up Plunder Kings! Updates if you’ve been keeping up our ships have received a visual update along with a few of their ultras. We have also added character portraits for each ship. Raizen: Roland Sandalwood He’s cool, strategic, and cunning. He just wants to sleep or reminisce about the good old days when the crew wasn’t poor. --- Alamo: Gus He’s the loud mouth always “down to fry deep fry some fools!” His words not mine. The bro of the crew. --- HAL: …Hal He’s a android that serves as the brains of the group, methodical, naive to human emotion. He is powered by a nuclear core, which he occasionally uses to augment his ship’s attacks.
A little update. If you guys wanted to see what's left to do. We're crossing things off as fast as we can!
While the programming team is working we had a chance to graphically upgrade the ultra attacks for the ships. Ultras are screen spanning moves unique to each ship that must be unlocked and then upgraded. Using an Ultra in Plunder Kings doesn't mean you can clear everything off the screen as some enemies will have enough health to be able to plow through a weak ultra and keep doing damage. We wanted to make the Ultras behave more like part of a combo rather than an instant way to clear the screen. You'll need to use this ability with your drones and boost fire to maximize the amount of enemies taken out. More updates to come as we finish the game!
Let's have a look at our combo grading system this week. The combos in Plunder Kings work just the same as most games: get consecutive kills without getting hit, the more kills you get the better the grade. Here's how we've made it different: The higher the combo the more you increase gem spawning, hence more cash for killin'! You can bet on how high of a combo you think you can pull off, the higher the amount of kills and the more you bet the higher your multiplier for when you win. You can also bet on the amount of total kills you'll get per stage. We're still working hard to get the game out for winter and we're making good progress. Thanks for following along with us so far and being patient!
Click for Ultras Just a heads but Touch Arcade won't let me embed video so the above is a link to check out the Alamo's ultra on our twitter. In Plunder Kings each of the ships have an ultra move that must be first bought to unlocked then upgraded. In most shooting games ultra moves instantly clear the screen but not here. In Plunder Kings your ultras can be used to set up combos because they deal damage based on how much you've upgraded, think of them a lot like an AOE attack. They're activated by just keeping two fingers down on the screen and refills can be picked up by killing enemies. That's all for this week! We'll have more updates next week!
Have a look at the still for the Raizen's ultra attack. Click on it to see it in motion! We'll have a post on bosses coming in the week so stick around!
In this week let's take a look at the Queen Bee. She's the first boss you'll encounter in Emerald Evergreens. The head of a giant swarm of evil insects that inhabit the Evergreens, she hoards a vast treasure. The bosses in Plunder Kings each have specific changing bullet patterns and special events that make dodging and using your secondary skills a huge priority. The Queen gets madder at consecutive hits and will both speed up and swap pattern variety. Each ship has a different way of beating her but it's more fun to have you guys figure it out when playing the game. More to come!
Meet the Skull King, lording over the group of mercenaries currently occupying the Billionaire Borderlands. This boss is all about denial of space, the only way to get around his attacks is to be constantly be moving, there is no safe place. If you do manage to blow up his ship you can gain access to his vast horde of treasure. Good Luck!
