Just a reminder we'll be at Microsoft NY [Across from Port Authority] all day today at Playcrafting's Halloween Expo. We'll have Plunder Kings ready to test. Check it out
As we work to get materials together for the launch have a look at some of our concept art for the Rizen, sniper style ship!
We've gone a little bit without an update so here we go! We've been doing the menus for the game and that's pretty straight up boring to show. In the meanwhile we've been posting a lot of the game's enemy sets and concept art on our Instagram. Rather than spam the thread with images I'll link it here. We'll be posting some new stuff soon, including new levels, bosses and a nicely revised menu system [It's all swipe-y and fancy, the nerd in me can't help but share]. If there's anything you want to know about the process as we go don't hesitate to reach out!
Art Log Plunder Kings Infested Forest [Level 1 ]: So it's been awhile since we did one of these but in the spirit of giving we have pretty level one art to show. The first level is forest based. It is inhabited by crazed insects. The main enemies consist of bees that serve as the standard enemies. There are several fly enemies, the red and purple ones will pose as a main threat throughout the level usually appearing in groups of two or three. The small black flies come from both sides of the player usually in groups of four. They are more sneaky when the area gets crowded. Oh and remember the menus? Check it out they're getting fancy.
We'll be delaying the release of Plunder Kings to March 13th. It was honestly that or start cutting features and we don't want to release something if we're not entirely pleased with it. Thanks everyone for following and being patient with us. There will be more updates soon.
Here's a sneak peek at the enemy sets you'll be facing in Plunder Kings. Each enemy levels up with new attacks and movements as play goes on so be careful!
"Plunder Kings is a wave based shoot em up that increases in difficulty the higher you get into the waves. There will be plenty of waves in a given session and in order to keep things fresh and interesting the enemies have to be fun. Each enemy will gradually change their attacks and patterns in order to keep players on their toes. This can range from them shooting a single bullet at a time to having several bullets home in on your ship at insane speeds. So while in the beginning a given enemy might seem friendly, towards higher waves they could be the single reason you lose all your money. In addition to enemies changing up their attacks based on the wave, weve been carefully working on enemy spawns to give the most satisfying and challenging combinations. While certain sets of enemies might seem harmless, another might spell your doom. - Kamil" Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Have a nice little enemy size comparison chart to start your Monday: We've also been posting a lot of game footage on our Instagram. Check it out if you want to see how development is going. We're in the home stretch! There is also never before scene footage of the game in action.
If you're in New York City tonight stop by Playcrafting. We're play testing Plunder Kings and we could use your feedback!
Update Right so let's get it out of the way, we're delaying the game till a to be announced early summer release. It's a number of reasons but mainly if you've been following us you'll know we add features past the games' ship date. This time we want to ship with everything right off the bat. It's obviously taking a lot of time so thanks for being patient with us! Check out the links below to see what we're working on. We're going deep into the end game and creating interesting bullet patterns and combos. We really think you're going to love it! Thanks so much! That's a great compliment thank you! If there's anything else you guys want to see please don't hesitate!
Have a look at how your ship will upgrade during play. The more you loot the more you have a chance of spawning an attack upgrade. You can also permanently upgrade your attacks as well as many other things outside of play.
We just did a talk at Microsoft NY showing off Plunder Kings. We recorded it so you guys can check it out. We talk a lot about the gambling system, ships, special abilities and more!
Dope. Thanks! I heard at the end you are submitting in 3 weeks. Looking forward to playing. Good luck.
