    We've got another update in the works. Here's what's going to be in it:

    -Fixed bug where shield and stun drones would unlock when clearing certain stages
    -Fixed bug where letter rank in results screen would not display lower than a C grade
    -Added change where if stage has been fully cleared will display “stage cleared” in results screen instead of “waves plundered”
    -Fixed bug where only one universal score was tracked instead of saving individual scores for each stage
    -Added new display for high score for each stage in stage select menu
    -Added new display for stage rank for each stage in stage select menu
    -Added new Gamecenter leaderboard functionality for high scores on each stage

    We're shooting to put it to Apple tonight or tomorrow. I'll have details as soon as it's approved!

    Ok so a bit of an update we're using the engine Gamesalad and well it doesn't play nice with a lot of things and the leaderboards working with gamecenter is one of them.

    We're currently working around the engine itself which gets a little tricky. So as we go I'll keep you guys posted but we are making progress!


    Edit: Just realized today was April Fools so no this isn't a joke we're actually doing this haha!

    The update is live!

    The leaderboards should be empty aside from us so let's see who can hold the top score per stage!


    Also I should say this took so long because our engine was essentially trying to make it so that we'd have to delete everyone's existing scores/progress to update. Kamil being the wizard he is found a work around so everything is great.

    If you’re experiencing any bugs with high score posting to Game Center make sure you update your phone to the newest version of iOS.

    If anything else comes up as always, let us know!

    Ok we've got a new update planned!



    This is what's going in:

    - New Game+
    This will remix the spawns and difficulty scale and give the bosses new attacks. This also adds new NG+ skulls to unlock.

    - Item Store
    Use your in game currency to buy ship skins and new drones. We're shooting for 3 new drones and a variety of ship skins.

    - Minor bug fixes, Balance changes, performance updates, speeding up coin vacuum, boss HP going up, additional bullet formations, adjust bet values to not make any out of range bets.

    We'll have a release date soon as well as more detailed info!

    I'm still having issues with the GC leaderboards.
    And I'm still only seeing 5 scores listed...

    Hope you guys get this figured out soon...

    On another note...
    This is easily the best GameSalad game I've ever played.
    But I'll admit that I'm incredibly curious to see what you guys could do with something like Unity, Unreal or Cocos2D....

    Damn, is your phone or tablet updated to the latest version of iOS?

    Whoa that's high praise, thanks a lot. We've pretty much maxed the engine entirely out so this is our last Gamesalad game, we're moving over to Unreal.

    Yes, it is. And I'm sorry, I didn't come back and post the next day. I checked again and saw that all of my scores (except for the first stage) had been uploaded.
    Thanks for being responsive, though! Always great having developers active here on the forums.

    And YAAAAY! That's awesome news!! Never Go Home looks frick'n awesome! And I just recently got a USB controller and have dove back into Steam - woo! I subbed and subscribed to your newsletter... I've gotta snag that as soon as it's released.

    Oh phew! We were about to dig back into the code. It's all good, in the end this is what makes the game better and that's what we're after.

    Thanks for the support! It's a really ambitious game and we're super glad you're into it!

    Just wanted to keep everybody posted. This is going to be a big update so currently we're working on aesthetic changes, adding to the in game graphics and that sort of thing.

    The next thing up is coding the large additions. When we hit that then I can give an exact release date.

    Here's a little sneak peek. We're revising a few sound fx and adding new ones in much higher quality. Everything is going super smooth with development but it's one of those things where there isn't much to show unless I post lines of code, haha! ​
