They have multiple development studios for different games in different countrys. Because of that they can release so many (for iOS standards) high quality games in such a short period of time. That's why they employ so many people.
And Rockstar have studios in Japan, Leeds, Lincoln, London, New England, "North" (Scotland), San Diego, Toronto, Vancouver and Vienna, but they still manage to support their games with only a quarter of the staff Gameloft apparently has. Perhaps they just enjoy video games more.
Let's boycott touchArcade for not boycotting Gameloft and not making this a frontpage article! And let's boycott the touchArcade forums, these lazy busterds!
The argument that gameloft has too many games to new able to support them is not a good argument because the more games that gameloft makes, the more money that they have to be able to provide timely updates for their games. Yeah, it was kind of extreme to say the word boycott, but my point is that it's inexcusable for a large company to take this long to fix their games. Gameloft easily has enough money to hire more people to fix their games, but they don't.
They banned me because I was saying that the moderator should get fired because he was lying to us. The moderator told us that he sent the update to Apple 4 weeks ago, but Gameloft obviously didn't, they only sent the iPad update at that time. They also banned me because I was telling them to stop censoring their forum, as I was telling others that they should look to other developers for their games.
They weren't "censoring" anything. You need to look up this term, study its meaning, then promise to stop using it incorrectly.
While I don't think this particular case justifies a boycott, I find this logic interesting. Does that mean that REGARDLESS of what Gameloft might do, the fact that some of their games are good protects them from criticism and scrutiny? I had better convince them to invest heavily into some truly controversial products. Perhaps mention to Halliburton the protection some good games offer as well.
This is the point I was making. Gameloft would rather just throw out new games then grab the money and run.
To continue that sentence: While most of the iOS gamer world is playing that game they just threw out for the next few hours.
First off, out of the hundreds of apps I've downloaded, I have only two Gameloft games on my iPod. So, to the OP: Call this a semi-boycott. You are welcome. Second, I would suggest that a riot might get more attention. It would also be much more fun. AND it would require fewer people. Think about it. Also, maybe smash your iPod very energetically in a public place. You'll have to yell, also... So people notice. Anyway, carry on and fight the good fight, etc.
Bah, if Gameloft continues to make 0.99$ sales, I can accept that some of its games are good and some are garbage or cloned!
