For anyone interested, there's a $10 off sale on Unit 13, Modnation Racers, and Hotshots Golf at Gamestop this week.
I'd recommend hotshots golf I knew beforehand it would be a game with a lot of replayability and things to unlock but it's actually probably the game I've been playing most which I truthfully expected to be Wipeout.
Yeah likely because I'm in Canada. Every Vita game I've bought has them included on the cartridge. I just beat the final level in Mutant Blobs Attack last night, what an awesome game and a fantastic finale. Now I need to go back and get 100%. If anyone here does not have it yet I strongly suggest you get it. Still need to play through Rayman, Plants vs Zombies, and Wipeout then I'm buying Disgaea 3 later this month when it comes out.
Yep no manuals in any of the UK games I've bought they usually come with the redeem code for online play and nothing else. I don't mind as reading them on the vita itself seems to work fine and I suppose it also guarantees downloaded games come with one.
I'm re-playing both on the Vita and they look spectacular on the Vita. The colors really pop, especially with Ghost of Sparta and the Atlantis level. It's really amazing how great PSP games could look with the right developer. I really wish Ready at Dawn would make a new Vita GOW, I really loved the 2 on the PSP and am so glad I bought the digital versions since I replay them through every now and then. *EDIT* Side question - has anyone played the PSP version of Dantes Inferno? I'm thinking of getting it for the Vita since it's a GOW type of game, but wanted to see if anyone's played this before. I realize it's not as good as GoW from what I hear, but if it has the same kind of gameplay, I'd probably like it.
I've played dantes inferno on PSP my opinion is it's not quite up to God of War standard but it is a good game and very similar, I can remember I never played it until completion but I can't remember why it might have been a tricky boss or possibly I just got distracted by something else. I think if you really like the God of War games it will probably appeal. Went back to playing uncharted there I forgot how good it was I'm starting to really like the firefights in it.
Thanks for the Impressions of Dante, might have to get that at some point. Also, I wanted to share my impressions of the Hori Face PS Vita Face Cover: http://www.amazon.com/HORI-PS-Vita-Face-Cover-Sony/dp/B006WJ6YGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333382779&sr=8-1 It came in on Friday and it's been pretty good so far. It's actually a near full body shell that snaps onto the back and has a front flap that closes over the screen. The screen is protected by a foam piece that sits on the surface. The portion above the analog sticks is actually sloped so nothing actually touches the sticks while the front is closed. For pocketablility, it does a really good job. You can still get to all of the ports and slots when you need to as well. The only issue I have is with the game card slot. The face plate folds up to allow access, but it's not quite enough to get the card out. It can be done, but it's not so easy to do. Other than that, it's slim fitting and has worked great as something pocketable. I love that the face plate can also fold back and be used to prop up the Vita and that I the back still allows access to the rear touchpad. Also, since the rear is raised, your Vita never sits flat on a table surface so it won't get scratched since the touchpad is now raised.
Nope, and though married no plans to. As to wake up early, well, I'm an imsomniac and an early riser combined, along with being on GMT -3:00H and having pretty crazy and erratic working hours
Sony has an interesting new ad campaign going on now: http://www.createsand.co.uk/2012/03/23/sony-vita-advert-takes-iphone-head-on/ I can't say I agree with the blogger's opinion though.
So I have nearly bought a ps3 3 times since getting my Vita. I am very interested in the interoperability between the vita and ps3, and in all honesty is what led me back to Mac back when I bought the first gen iPhone on launch day. I've spent countless hours online viewing 360 vs ps3 videos on youtube, Kinect vs Move and so on... the problem is that the ps3 seems to lose in every match up, and having sold a 360 years ago, I don't really have any intention of picking one up again, but I've never owned a Sony console since the ps1. I am really enjoying God of War for psp on my vita, and playing the ps3 version is probably one of the big selling points for me, as well as Killzone with the sharpshooter. Are there any other exclusive titles worth picking up if I go for a ps3 to compliment my Vita?
I have not bought an iOS game since getting my Vita. my iPad 2 has just become a web browser when I'm on the couch and a 2nd monitor when i work with air display. My iPhone? Well... its just a phone now...
inFAMOUS 1&2, Uncharted 1,2,&3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank series, Gran Turismo 5. There's a lot more, but listing everything would take a while.
Vita update out: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/04/02/ps-vita-system-software-update-v1-65/ Nothing really that big.
What a crap update, where are the new features? I really hope Sony isn't going to make the Vita like the PS3 with a new update every few weeks that adds nothing useful, seriously, Caps Lock, a new alert and 10 minute shutdown feature? Where's the PS1 compatibility and other cool features promised? Oh well, maybe next month.
Seems to me from reading about the update it was really to fix some issues with the "near app". I'd like to think there was other bug fixes in the update as well but yeah I do hate updates that really give me nothing and I've had no issues with the near app anyway. I think if they don't start adding things people actually want in the next one they may start to lose goodwill and momentum.
Reasons why you should buy a PS3: 1) You already have a Vita, so the interoperability with the PS3 (not that great right now, but will certainly get much better) will be a major plus; 2) PS3 exclusives are way way WAY better than the X360s (more about that below); 3) Both Kinect and Move are gimmicky craps in my opinion, not a buying factor to me; 4) PS3 is also an excellent Blu-ray player; 5) PS3 HDDs are standard 2.5" ones and uber easy to swap, so you can get a huge one for cheap and throw all your media in it; 6) PSN is free; 7) Plus is an amazing program, you'll get tons of free and discounted stuff, while Live is not that much better than PSN nowadays, paid and gives you nothing really worthy; 8) There are indeed some high profile games that run a bit better on X360 (notably Bethesda's - Fallout, Skyrim), but I played most of them and it's never a deal breaker; 9) If PS1 was your last Sony console, that mean you didn't own a PS2. If you didn't have a PS2, then you missed some of the best games ever made, and not a few of them are available in HD versions for the PS3; 10) PS3 controller is MUCH better than the 360 one; 11) Etc, think I made my point Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, God of War 1-2 HD, Flower, Journey, Super Stardust, Dead Nation, ICO HD, Shadow of the Colossus HD, Killzone 2-3, Little Big Planet 1-2, Resistance 1-2-3, Siren, Valkyria Chronicles, Wipeout HD. Every single one of them great games, the ones I bolded I consider to be some of the best games I've ever played. The only X360 exclusives I care about is Mass Effect 1 and the Gears of War series, both playable in a PC. And a few shmups.
